I received my sofa today by two delivery drivers who were lovely, hence the one star. As the sofa was delivered in boxes and was apparently drop off only. I called customer services to ask why it wasn’t set up and the rubbish removed. The customer service agent said it isn’t a service they offer online. I asked how soon someone attend to set up my sofa but he could not give me until he had received further payment. I asked if he could look first as I was unable to wait for long periods without a sofa. He said “No” he clearly didn’t want to be there. I asked to speak to a Managet but apparently they don’t have managers. He also said they do not have a complaints process and I had to deal with only him . He refused to give me his name. So after spending thousands I am left with a sofa I can’t set up. This is hands down the worst customer service I have ever received.

Ordered a two sofas in July due to the quick delivery of four weeks being quoted in store. Multiple dates given and proceeding cancellations of delivery date, told that there was an issue with material. We should have cancelled the order as we waited over 4 months for the delivery and trust was beginning to erode in terms of the lack of updates. The sofas arrived on the 22nd of November. We immediately noted the different fabric in texture and colour and also noted different fabric used on one of the sofas arms which did not match the second sofa. There is also defects on each of the arms on the rear of the sofa which is very noticeable. We asked the delivery team to note the issue with the fabric. We called the Uddingston branch on the day to be asked to send WhatsApp pictures and video evidence which would be sent to customer services. The assistant manager could see and agreed there was a clear difference in the fabric sold to us and the sample seen in the show room and he kindly apologised. We were surprised by the response of customer services stating that they do not refund any orders! We also contacted the wholesaler to raise the quality concern and they stated that if there was an issue the Designer Rooms should know their obligation. The calls with the company have been interesting as there is a clear lack of understanding of Consumer Rights Act and their obligation to consumer protection. We were offered a refund and a wait for another sofa - Why offer any of this is the company think there is no issue? We have refused as the colour is so different it does not match our house, there is also fault in the sofas we are also not prepared to wait again after the delay already experienced. Again we were offered money transferred to our bank account if we would keep the sofas. We have declined as we are fully aware of our rights that are enshrined in law. We have reported the conduct to Trading standards. We called this am to ask if they would organise collection however the call appeared to be an inconvenience with very little ability to enter into a conversation to organise collection and refund. We will update progress as it happen here. Advice to others - use a credit card to ensure protection via dispute, ask for clear terms of policy and ensure they comply with legal standards. A company cannot take away the rights of consumers. We have exercised our legal right to ‘reject the goods’ due to unfair contract As per consumer law. We await a response to assist the designer Rooms with collection of the faulty ‘not as seen’ sofas…. To be continued

I bought some products from this company at grand designs NEC Birmingham I then bought some refills online the sad thing about this company is that you offer sales and then you inflate the costs and then sell it for the same price without the sales eg normal price of refills defusers are £25 and then you put them upto £38 and say they are in the sale for £25 this is a company who lie about their sales this is unethical and shows what a company you are which can’t be trusted I will not be buying anything of your company again and I’m sure this is trade description shocking

Ordered a table and 8 chairs from Grand Designs Show, we paid in full (stupidly thought they would be checked by show organisers) we were told 8 weeks delivery which did suit us, however after 10 weeks and hearing nothing I started to chase delivery, several emails later and realising the company had got bad reviews so no chance of refund, 6 months later they were delivered but table had screws missing and despite emails we still haven’t received them in post as promised. Avoid!!!

Paid £800 for a bed and mattress and it didn’t even last a year. The mattress has dipped considerably, the bed base is cheap plywood which has also dipped. Absolute waste of money. Avoid at all costs the quality is certainly not “designer” After raising this I was told I was no longer in warranty or covered by them. The average lifespan of a bed and mattress is 5 years and I didn’t even get near that. Do not order and save your money

I wish I had read the reviews before dealing with this company. Ordered dining room chairs in August for delivery in October. Checked in Silverburn shop yesterday to be told they would not be arriving until 14 November. I asked for a Customer Services call today and was advised that the chairs are expected on 14 December. No refund allowed and no one in authority to speak with. Horrendous company - stay well clear! They are completely uninterested once they have your cash!

We recently purchased a 3 seater sofa and a armchair from your store in Coatbridge, and we must say that the service we received from sales assistant Robert was second to none, he was so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him, it made the purchasing experience very pleasurable.

Bought a table and chairs at the Grand Designs Exhibition in London. We were told to expect the delivery in no more than 4-6 weeks and they took 50% payment upfront. We constantly chased once the 6 weeks had passed as the Designer Rooms made no attempt to contact us and were ambivalent to our concerns simply saying stock is not in the country and we needed to use track the order on our invoice and there was nothing they could do!. Customer Service is abysmal and we were beginning to think they were a scam especially after we looked at more than just the Trustpilot 'reviews' about this Company, which makes terrible reading. Table and chairs did eventually arrive after nearly a 4 month wait - A very stressful experience and would never deal with them again. Christine Reed

I ordered a table and chairs at The Ideal Home Exhibition on April 2nd 2024 and they promised to deliver between 6 to 8 weeks. The owner of the company sold me the table and chairs!! Seventeen weeks later I got fed up of waiting and cancelled the order. During that time I had to chase them constantly. We paid an initial deposit and they are now refusing to refund my money. Legally and according to the Sales Goods Act, I am entitled to my money back but these people are ignoring the law. Apparently they have no cancellation policy!!! I asked the customer service agent to speak to the owner of the company who sold me the table and chairs and the response was that he would not speak to me. In the process of going through the details with my lawyer. Unacceptable!! Avoid at all costs!!

******AVOID****** I would strongly recommend anyone who’s looking to buy furniture that the don’t use The Designer Rooms. Paid a deposit of £500 for a dining table and chairs. Decided 4days later that I changed my mind, called spoke with the “customer services”, most horrible rude, cheeky and arrogant ppl I have ever dealt with, was told no I can’t get my money back, I said fine, I’ll take a credit note for the £500, told no I would need to pay the remaining balance then they will give me a credit note for the £1000 if I don’t then tuff I loose my £500. As you can imagine I was shocked and angry, never came across anything like it in my life! Decided that I will just need to get the table so I don’t loose my money to the cowboy show that is the designer rooms! I ordered this on March 3rd, was they where waiting on the stock and it would be delivered end of May! Contacted them to arrange this to be told no, the chairs are coming till July! Not happy I went back to the sklverburn store, the staff there are helpful and they let me change my chairs so my delivery would be around June 8th, fine! Last week when in to back my tracking delivery now says 23th June!!! Not happy I email the store, no reply!!! I have checked my tracking again tonight to see that they have blocked me from tracking the furniture that I ordered on March 3rd!!! I can’t stress enough how bad this company are to deal with, they are unprofessional cowboys!! I really really wish I had looked at reviews before I touched this computer (going of the recent last few wks reviews on trust pilot they are definitely not true, they must be doing them themselves, look further back at google and trust pilot) So now I’ve emailed again, wonder if I’ll get a reply this time??? Or maybe I might get my furniture by the end of the yr!!! Terrible company, terrible customer service. Nothing short of scammers with fancy shops!!!!

This is my 4th time ordering furniture and garden furniture from designer rooms. I have always had a great experience and in store the staff are all so helpful and can’t do enough for you. Mostly I have dealt with Saira who has gone above and beyond helping with any questions or queries I do have. Everything is dealt with efficiently and can’t thank her enough.

We saw this company at their stand at the Grand Designs Live show in London. We picked out a couple of items we liked and after let the staff know we would be interested in buying. The made a bill, we paid it and they told us we would receive new furniture within a couple of weeks max. 10 days went by and there was no contact, I wrote and email to customer service and phoned their head office to find out what was happening. We were then told that the furniture would take another 4 weeks to arrive into the UK. Additionally, were told the girls at the show did not have the expertise to tell us this when we were paying and also informed their could be no refund. After advising them that under UK law, we were obliged a refund, they proceeded to say we could have next day delivery. Now we all know that they would be sending the exhibition or ex display furniture. In lieu of this I sent them an email and said I would wait the 4 weeks as long as they discount the £29 delivery - bear in mind that we bought 2 lamps and 2 side tables for a cool £750. They refused and low and behold the next day I was delivered the ex display furniture. Now what do I do??? Absolutely awful company. Avoid at all costs.

Paid cash £2,149 with delivery for a wren sofa bed corner unit I've been complain since delivery on the 14th December 2023, sagging cushions piping wonky, footstool 1inch above the other seats, finaly gave in and payed £100 for a technician to come out, that was today, very stressful, he said you never get straight lines at the edges of the seats, the sagging he said was down to it being wait for it " the worn look" that's what the Wrens like, I explained I didn't want nor was told it would be like this when I purchased it from Silverburn, now becouse the technician has said there is nothing wrong but admitted the cousin will sag once sat on and I only need to plump them back up, this is a joke surely, I am now in the prosses of getting my own technician out, yes it will cost me, but it will be worth every penny to sort this out once and for all, it's been so stressful, when the technician was leaving I just cried, from his response I knew he was for the supplier and not me.

If I could go elsewhere I would have, even though the item arrived in good time we had problems with missing items. Premised it was sent out didn’t arrive several calls later one arrives but I know what was promised will never be delivered. If you agree with a customer something at least well you should deliver on your promise. Next year at the ideal home I shall let you know.

I ordered a chair for my mom in a care home and waited several weeks for it to be made. I was then given a day and time for delivery and instructions for it to be taken in a lift to her room which was agreed. I went the following day to discover it had not arrived. I then phoned and spoke to 2 very obnoxious men who said it had been delivered and was in the building somewhere and to double check which I did. I asked them to check the delivery notes as the attempted delivery was on a Wednesday and it was now Thursday ,they said they wouldn't get them until Monday , I then asked them to phone the driver and they stated they couldn't answer were very rude and I would have to wait until the following week. The following day I received a call from a lady who said that the driver had attempted the delivery ( she had the missing delivery reports)but after ringing the bell there was no answer. I then pointed out it is a huge care home with double glass doors and reception staff there during daytime hours and other staff 24/7 hours a day. She then summised that he must have gone to the wrong address. Personally I think he didn't fancy a trip to Birmingham that day. Then to make matters worse I was told the next delivery date would be 4 weeks later ! I told her how the customer service had been abysmal and she said they would listen back to the phone calls I had had with the 2 rude men I had encountered. But unsurprisingly I heard nothing back ,I was expecting at least an apology for an awful all round experience. I wold never use this company again and advise anyone else not to either. I paid a lot of money for the chair and expected a service to go with it unfortunately it was like dealing with a 2 bit rude operation. The lady I have to add was very polite and was obviously working in the confined of this terrible company. Avoid at all costs
