Pros: I no longer have to work here. Cons: Im going to miss the people that made this place almost bearable. I worked in the warehouse for over 2yrs, I had a great time with the staff I worked with both in and outside the warehouse. However the store as a whole is grossly under staffed and miss managed, from a regional to store level. Because of this, staff are expected to do the work of multiple people while working in testing conditions. Obviously this way of doing things is never going to work, which is why the work builds up both in and outside the warehouse, (walk around the store you will more often than not see what is mentioned here) add a serious pest control issue in to that and the company not stopping deliveries for the issue to be dealt with, which has lead the place in to a bit of a mess. I say a bit. What I mean is, as a staff member you will come in to contact with rat droppings on an almost daily basis, you will smell the musky odder of rat urine in areas around the warehouse all day. It's an absolute guarantee that there is stock sold on the shop floor that has come in to contact with the rats. On the 16.10.19 I witnessed staff from the shop floor take a pallet of food department stock from the yard (where it was kept over night) and work it on to the shop floor, Some staff came back talking about how the rats had eaten some of the stock and some cans where damaged to. The stock they brought back was demics. They did not scrap the whole pallet from the food department. Since I started working there nearly 2.5 yrs ago I have seen staff taking shelves from the yard where they have become slightly rusted and weather beaten but mostly the problem is that the rats have been over them, urine and faces present at times again. They will take these shelves on to the shop floor after only drying them, where they would then place stock on the shelves. I have personally witnessed management setting up a baby stock shelf next to seasonal last year where they placed baby suckers on hooks right under these shelves. On the 19.10.19 I witnessed staff working under extremely dangerous condition while the store was taking in water due to bad rain, While the water was coming in to the store threw holes in the roof, it was hitting lights to the point you could call them flooded, Staff where then told to clean the water up that had pooled on the floor under the lights, The staff had zero PPE on. The curcumstances around this are a stand out issue for me and the reason I ended my employment with the store. There was no risk assessment done to find out if there was any hazards which could effect the staff, I think having them clean up flood water under a light thats lashing with water while it has a live current going threw it would be considered a hazard. The shop was closed to the public for the morning but not staff, the on sight manager (who openly stated that she had zero health and safety trying for this type of thing) called the area manager Mark Steven who she said has ordered staff to go get mops and clean up. The above paragraph illustrates the lack of due care and attention buy the management on a local and area level, The act of not doing a risk assessment is a breach of H&S and put myself the staff that were on sight and the manager at risk of death or serious injury. I can't stress enough that you avoid this place unless you are forced to work here by the job centre, You have no value beyond getting the doors open and stock out, your mental and physical well being has no value to this company or the people who run it. Dont ever shop in the limerick branch if you have a child with special needs , my child and I were treated appallingly by the manager of this branch who's lack of empathy and understanding was unbelievable, she was so rude to us a stranger approached us in the shop to check if we were ok as I was so shaken by her approach . I wrote to the complaints department who assured me they would look into the incident , but after a few emails forward and back they have been just as unhelpful and rude. I will never set foot in that store again , and judging by the tone of alot of the other reviews poor customer care seems to be the norm for this company.

Poorly trained staff who are arrogant and happy to swear at other staff members while serving customers on the checkouts, the manager needs to address these issues and start managing his staff, poor company and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone, go to Wilkos instead

The store is okay but the security guard is a disgrace, me and my partner visited the store today (7/10/2019) like we do most weeks and we walked in the store with shopping from other shops and we went to get what we wanted, I noticed a man watching us but I didn't really think anything of it and we went and paid. While I was paying I noticed the same man walk past us still looking at us and he walked outside and stood outside the doors, after paying we left the store and walked past the same man we walked through the carpark and headed up Thornton Rd, I then looked back and could see the same man running full speed towards us and at this point I got a bit nervous wondering who he was and when he got close to me he violently grabbed me and snatched 2 items from me which I had just purchased from another store and he stated that I had stole them from the Range (even though they don't sell this product) when I told him this and said I had a receipt he said I was a liar and he had just watched me steal them, I decided to go back to the store to complain to the manager after showing the manager my receipts the man then tried saying I had stolen another item, the exact item he had just watched me buy and when I showed the receipt for this item he realised he had made a big mistake and not once did he apologise for the inconvenience, this man should not be working as a security guard he clearly has issues and clearly doesn't know how to do his job, he didn't even tell us he was a security guard he just ran up behind me and jumped on me and now I will be putting a complaint in to head office

Waited for 3cweeks for my delivery as you wouldn't give it to my neighbour as I was rushed into hospital at last minute. It was delivered smashed and still waiting for pick up and a refund. Now been blocked from message as that was the only contact I had to get it picked up. The whole experience has cost me my time calling and txt for now 6 weeks. What an unprofessional approach to your paying customer.

I have just returned to shop a Solar light it cost £10.99 so not cheap as it had gone rusty after just 10 days.The assistant askd if it had been outdoors,to which I replied yes its a Solar light and works from sunlight to be told it was for indoor use only I should have in Conservatory.They did refund mymoney but I came away from shop amazed that I had been told such rubbish.

Portsmouth branch Really frustrated as I was treated unfairly today in that branch. Went to return a faulty blender that my husdand bought a few days ago. Surprisingly, the manager did not want to refund us. They came up with reason that this has been used and is not resalable. Very bad customer services. Staff including managers started pushing me and calling me names in front of customers. Horrible experience!!! Still in shock and demand answers

AVOID THIS COMPANY. Ordered a wardrobe. delivered damaged by a driver who abused my family. After many hours on the phone and unanswered emails, ""Customer Service" reordered the wardrobe. When it didn't arrive, The Range stated it was never in stock!! The Range have not offered compensation for the lies and hassle and waste of time. Don't bother trying to escalate any issues within their complaints system as it will be ignored. Written to The Range CEO directly who has similarly not replied. AVOID THE RANGE

Disgusting treatment! After waiting considerable time for delivery of mirrors, 3 were broken! Had range collect them, no refund given so chased it and they said to my utter surprise only 2 received! Could it b that the range got that wrong and did not bother counting all the broken bits? But no I’m blantantly the liar here according to the range! Either way I did not even receive a refund for two and still haven’t! Not even the money now but the principal! Do not order from them quick to take money not quick to deliver, no care taken on delivery just dumped broken then on collecting they did not bother checking what was received and did not bother with refund! Worse service ever. Defo lost me as a customer

Chichester branch Only one till working, dealing with a lady asking about curtains. Asked if I could pay for my one item at the refund desk. The till lady said yes, unfortunately the man on the refund desk said no. There were very few people in. Went to Homebase and was treated with a smile. That’s another two customers lost forever.

Paid £10 delivery of goods, they gave their external delivery company the wrong address. Sent me in circles, had to organise the redelivery myself. Said an investigation was escalated, heard nothing. No apologies and still have no delivery as of yet 4 weeks after ordering.

I made a phone call to a store in Sheffield on the 29/08/2019 to make an inquiry regarding an item in stock, she was very professional and quick she told me they had the items I wanted, 2 Garden Rabbit ornaments and asked if I wanted them she would leave them at the customer help desk. So far so good excellent service, I called that evening and decided I wanted to make an extra purchase of some artificial flowers and Ivy of about £30, I them made my way into the garden section at around 7.40 to be abruptly told it was closed you cannot come in here will you get out. I said pardon me but its part of the same store which does not close till 8pm, again a further more agitated reply its closed for maintenance end of mate. I was disgusted to receive such an amazing earlier service to this appalling one. I work as a maintenance operative in a Nursing Home and it was a decision that afternoon to purchase extra flowers to help with a pen pal project that would cover the base of two letter boxes to help stimulate these residents. I felt very upset from the attitude of your member of staff, mixed emotions that the following day I would be unable to purchase the items I require at NOW such short notice. I found out that this member of staff's name is Dave.

Manager and cashier were rude and aggressive. A problem with the card machine and when I questioned what was wrong, they blamed me. My card was working fine. I was spending money and they were borderline threatening. Gareth the manager and Natalie on the till were unprofessional. Don’t visit Bursledone store basically!!!

Purchased a trampoline, made the mistake of not checking the contents for 30 days due to holidays and having work done on our lawn. Went to assemble it, only to discover that some of the items are missing, including the actual trampoline bed. Disgusted that it's obviously a return that someone has swiped key items from. Despite them acknowledging that the weight of the delivered box didn't match the weight specified by the manufacturer, they refused to either swap it out, provide the missing items or provide a refund. I'm disgusted with them. They also refused to let me speak to their Line Manager and even hung up on me for having the audacity to interrupt them on the call. Pathetic customer service - I won't ever buy anything from them again.
