“The box is a great idea - six options, superb write-ups for each, and secure packaging. I have not had a chance to evaluate the recent box. Until now, I have not one a single sake that was above mediocre save 1.5 -- One was really satisfying, and one was a solid citizen that is readily available, even here in Quaker State. I have no illusions that I am an aficionado, but I have taken private classes with sake-specific sommeliers, drink sake often (compared to other US wines), and have traveled to Japan for direct experience. I've had better luck ordering items from the Tippysy website, relying on the descriptions for each. The samples are no Gekkan, but they're not up to the quality of other selections at Tippsy. I will continue with the subscription as I see it as a smart way to try new brands, regions, and rice processing techniques, but I hope I find some gems or even decent choices.”
“The Tippsy sake boxes have been a great value so far. Delicious Sake and interesting information is provided about each brewer. I have already bought one box set for a family member's birthday.”
“I absolutely lover this quarterly Sake Delivery service! 90% of them are unavailable in the US, so its the only way to get them withou going to Japan. The prices are OK but the wealth of information and customer service is excellent.”
“My wife loves sake and the local selection is limited so she was thrilled to get the boxes every quarter. Great variety and selection and she has found some new favorites.”
“I Love the seasonal boxes! Such a treat and so well packaged, as all my orders have been. Tippsy totally exceeds expectations! So educational, such a diverse selection and outstanding service!”
“The education about flavors, methods, and breweries. My goal was to learn what I like and why. I’ve tasted so many great sakes, most recently taru sake, aged in barrels. Fantastic! Tipsy curates a wonderful selection every quarter. I love the info cards! I get excited when I get my delivery text! Keep up the great work!”
“The sake and cards included with the sake is cool. The pamphlet thing usually seems unrelated to the sake so it is less cool
Delivery is chaos if you live in NJ, the only upside is the drivers seem to leave the package without checking ID so I don't need to know when it arrives
The referral program is so stingy and expires your points fast. I'm not referring anyone again because of this
I don't know of a better sake club though so I think I would resubscribe unless something else comes along”
“If you want to find great, original Japanese Sake Tippsy is the best online company selling Japanese Sake. Many levels of pricing to choose from and all varieties of Sake. Tippsy is where I shop for my Sake!”
“My favorite sake is hard to find (Senkin Classic Muku). Tipsy had it for a fair price and delivered it quickly and in good condition. Will definitely order from the, again!”
“Good sake, clearly put a lot of effort/care into the packaging and information provided with the sake. Would be a 5 star if they ironed out the kinks with shipping :)”
“Previously purchased bottles were perfect.
New flavor/mini samples were fine. A thick milky sake is so yummy. Thin light with a refreshing fruit is ok.”
“As a sake lover, it has been very expensive keeping up with my hobby (habit). Often having to hunt down sake from individual stores around the country and paying exorbitant shipping on top.
None of these stores have a way to "experiment" with new sake based on the flavor profile - and you are lucky if they even give you the SMV to help decide.
TippsySake's Taste Metric graph and reviews enable you to find new sake that you would never find otherwise - and I haven't had a bad one yet.
Every order has arrived a few days BEFORE the initial projected arrival date and the shipping is fair (or free!).
The only downside is I am drinking a LOT more sake! ;-}
A great store with a fantastic way to try new sake in your taste profile.”
“I have been very pleased with the sample bottles I have received. I made the type of food that has been recommended for several of the bottles of sake and have been delighted by my guests reaction to the combinations I have prepared with the sake.”
“The sake arrived in great shape, and the packaging around the bottle seemed to be well thought out. I thoroughly enjoyed the product, and next time I am on the market for authentic, made-in-Japan alchohol, I will remember Tippsy (:
-Thank you for your hard work!”
“Loved the prompt service and selections. Our friends were impressed with the variety and various tastes they discovered in sake. They love wine but have found a new addition! Thank-you!”
