“Bought an ebike from Tredz, the display and controller were unresponsive and when I tried to charge the battery the charger became extremely hot. I then checked the pre delivery inspection report and the engineer at Tredz neglected to check the electrical components. I have sent a potentially unsafe ebike. Avoid Tredz when buying bikes - they can not be trusted.”
“I bought a giant stance e-bike November 22. Upon receiving the bike I set up handlebars, fitted the pedals and took it out to try. The gears were jumping in various gears and during the first couple of weeks the bike was switching off whilst riding. I reported the problems to tredz and I took the bike to local bike shop which told me the chain and cassette needed replaced which I paid for as I needed the bike for work. The bike went to my local giant dealer for battery update. I got the bike back and again it started jumping gears and I got my local bike shop to check and was told it must be freehub, I contacted tredz again and was told to take to local giant dealer who fitted new freehub and told me that there was nothing wrong with the old one. I was told it needed a new chain and cassette again. Tredz asked me to return bike to them which I did and was told it was the way I was riding the bike. At this point the bike had done roughly 250-300 miles total from new. I refused to accept bike back and have involved trading standards and financial ombudsman. A week ago tredz and myself agreed that I would accept the bike back from them with new chain and cassette fitted at their expense and if it started playing up again within 30 days, they would take it back again for inspection. I received the bike back this week and the frame is covered in damage which tredz claim was because the bike was poorly packaged when sent back. I sent the bike with the front wheel off but wrapped in padded wrapping and secured so not to move. Tredz say there is no claim against themselves or DHL as it was poorly packaged. I asked them for the photograph evidence of this but they say they have none. If anyone is thinking of using tredz to purchase anything (PLEASE READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE HAND) I am now sat with a £3500 bike covered in damage and to top it off, when I tested the new chain and cassette, it is still not right.”
“When the bike arrived I noticed it wasn't selecting gears properly and assumed it wasn't indexed correctly, when I tried to index them I couldn't get the chain onto the highest gear. After taking it to be serviced I was informed that the chain was too long, the front derailleur cable was the wrong one and the internal routing was really bad and causing the front derailleur to be incredibly stiff to move. The front derailleur was also missing the protective cover, the brakes missing the bleed nipple covers and the cable for the front derailleur wasn't polymer coated as the rear one was which also added to making the shifting terrible. After being told by Tredz that they would pay for this (I was told it would take a minimum 3 hour service at £80 but the rerouting would take most if not all that time), they then told me that because I did not inform them it would be more than £80 (how could I until the work had been done) they will not reimburse me for the full amount of £175. The customer service has been awful and I feel very let down, especially after paying the money I did for the bike in the first place and then it being set up so poorly. Would not recommend you buy from them.”
“I bought a brand new bike last July 23 and I have started using 2 weeks which barely done 5 miles. I did change the pedals myself. Although the right side was flawed and after installed the pedal has caused stripped thread. They wouldn’t cover it as a warranty!! Moreover I accepted to pay the part and guess what? They reply saying it will take 2 months to be delivered!!! They won’t even take the bike back and get me a refund. I will look somewhere else where I will try to repair it . Please avoid to spend your money in this shop!! Totally worthless and disappointed!!”
“I have ordered a bike and other accessories cost £999. Delivery was arranged through DHL. Consecutively 2 days completely unruly DHL said that they could not deliver because no one was at home and cannot access address. Although I was home all day waiting for my delivery. No card left at all. 3rd day delivery was delayed don't know why. Everyday I contacted DHL and Trefz. Spoken to same person everday on the phone /chat for Tredz. Same answer, they don't have control on courier service. They offered me to go to Abingdon to pick it up which is 25 miles away from where I live. On Friday Tredz offered me to rearrange delivery another time.which I refused amd asked them to refund. Now they have to ask DHL to return the items and I.cannot have refund untill then. Totally frustrating. Not recommended to buy from Tredz bikes.”
“I bought an e-cargo bike from Tredz through a cycle to work scheme for a total of £5,600 and a diamond rated lock to secure it.
It started off pretty poorly when they couldn't secure a courier to deliver the bike on time and there was a substantial delay getting it sorted. Getting any communication on the status of the delivery was difficult too, so we had no idea what was going on.
The bike finally arrived and we noticed some issues. The hex nuts securing the bucket to the frame had been overtorqued and rounded off so I had to remove them with a hacksaw to fit the rain cover, the rear mudguard fitting was snapped off and flapping around, the quick release handlebar stem was not greased so it doesn't move, and the rear wheel came off under torque, stripping off the frame fitting it was attached to.
Very disappointed by the state of the bike to say the least, but I took it in for a service after doing 60 miles. The shop I had it serviced in was another e-bike provider and they found more issues with the assembly that, and I quote, "made it dangerous to ride"
The assembly of this bike was literally a danger to the safety of the rider and its passengers (my 2 youngest kids) and I'm utterly disgusted it was assembled in such a poor manner that it could've caused serious injury.
In addition to the above, the lock I bought to use the bike was not delivered, so I had to buy another lock to use it. It put me out of pocket over £100.”
“I placed an order for an ebike and Tredz priced matched it for me. When they found out I was getting £600 off the bike Tredz cancelled the order down and wouldn't give me a reason. So now I will buy the bike from the other web site shop. Poor Customer Service”
“I found the packaging on my gloves really frustrating and I binned it as soon as I'd unpacked the gloves. I tried the gloves over the next day or so and decided they were too small. I returned them but the return was rejected because I didn't include the piece of cardboard the gloves had been attached to when they arrived.”
“Terrible service where the staff don't read correspondence from the customers. I placed an order for bile mudguards, but almost cancelled it immediately after realising that I ordered a wrong size. It was over weekend. I thought they would check their emails on Monday and cancel the order. However, I received a notification that the order had been shipped. I was advised to reject the order on delivery. I was lucky to catch DHL driver who was about to disappear after throwing the box over the gate. It was on the 5th May. I was rejected a refund because they did not receive the item back. Is it my problem? Contact your courier! It is always nice when everything goes smoothly but people show their good and bad sides when something goes wrong. Decent people stay decent in any situation. But it is not about Tredz.”
“Brought security light
Order #47800] (29th December 2022) does not work will not hold solar power. Sent email for refund beginning January still awaiting answer”
“Bought some items with 2 separate orders, both did not showed up. Tredz wouldn’t refund me until TNT find my packages. Tredz should refund me and deal with TNT with themselves not the customer have to find out where is the packages are. First and the last time will buy from them. I would suggest not to come near to their website!”
“Bought a £1000 bike, got to the end of the ordering process and went to book a delivery slot but there was no option to do so, so I emailed them and they eventually got back and said the only deliver on weekdays, what is is this as “people work” the delivery was subsequently missed and a card left behind, none of the details I had been sent, related to the card. The FedEx barcode didn’t work, there was no way of contacting them the app kept crashing, them I ding out that it was sent through TNT so they must be the same company but nothing was working through FedEx who are the ones who tried to deliver the bike. Tredz customer service extent was to leave a note on my door and ask the driver to leave the £1000 bike somewhere or ask a neighbour if they wouldn’t mind taking it in ( sure because people don’t mind having a full size bike in their front door ). Well I have offered you everything then sir and there is nothing more I can do said tredz!
So I had to cancel the order! I will go somewhere else who will appreciate my custom and money”
“I’ve used Tredz before for smaller items and they’ve always been okay, but buying a bike from them was a horrendous experience. My wife ordered a Liv Embolden 1 on 27 August. She was on the border between sizes but went for a small. When it promptly arrived on 30 August, it was far too big (not Tredz fault) so we arranged a collection from Tredz for 3 days later at a cost of £35 and requested they hold the last XS they had in stock. All fine so far. The collection slot was booked by Tredz for between 1pm and 5pm. We received a notification that TNT would collect between 1pm and 3pm, but when 3pm came there was no sign. I contacted TNT who said it was a failed collection but they would never collect at this time as the van would not be empty. They couldn’t do any more as the customer was Tredz, so a call to Tredz and they arranged it for the following Monday. No collection occurred on the Monday, or the 2 more attempts after this. Tredz kept doing the same thing of booking a collection and hoping it would be collected, but with no success. Finally, on the fifth attempt, the bike was collected but this was just before the Queen’s funeral bank holiday weekend, so it took another 3 days to be delivered. Two days after it was delivered back to Tredz, they’re going to dispatch the replacement, meaning it would arrive while we’re away on a biking weekend (without the new bike that was ordered 4 weeks ago), so it’s going to take over 5 weeks since ordering (and 6 days spent waiting at home) to get the correct size delivered.
Customer services are always polite, but just can’t do anything to help and even escalating to a manager took 2 attempts before it was collected.”
“Terrible company
Firstly refused to pay my cash back!
Forks on bike kept letting out air……when I contacted them as the bike was under warranty ..of course this wasn’t under warranty….surprise surprise!
They told me I should have had the bike serviced although it was only a few months old!!!!!
Don’t bother with this company”
“WORST company to deal with ever! I bought a bike worth £3695.00 and it arrived with some tools and battery pack missing which costs around £600 to replace. I have been calling them again and again every day for an update this week and each time i get told it is being escalated and they do nothing. Last supervisor bascially said we packed the item so it is not their problem. Mechanic checklist is also wrongly done - simply ticked lots of boxes but it is clear they have not done most of those checks, someone in Tredz or courier company TNT have done something wrong leaving me with a bike i cannot use until i shell out another £600 from my pocket, nevermind the stress and discomfort i am going through calling them and explaining the whole thing over and over again every day! I asked for full refund and they said we cannot refund because you dont have all the parts, wow! Will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN EVER!”
“Took the £3000 out for one short ride. The bike made a terrible noise which I was told “all good bikes make that noise” I own a cube ebike and that makes no noise. So I asked the day after it was delivered to send it back. I was told by one bike specialist I was within my rights to send it back but now they’re saying it’s used and cannot be returned. Absolutely appalling after sales care.”
“Bunch of scammers. Tredz are refusing to pay the cashback I earned through TopCashback that I earned for this order. The only reason I chose to order from Tredz and not another retailer was because of the cashback offer.
Plus the bike build quality was poor, gears not indexed properly, multiple bolts loose and even the back wheel come OFF, thankfully at low speed, otherwise it could have caused a very serious accident.”
“Tredz/Giant aftercare is abysmal.
(Giant store is owned by Tredz, who do the Giant aftercare, which is run by the same people that run Halfords)
It has so far taken over 3 and a half months to sort out a frame replacement under warranty. I still don't have my bike back
I would avoid using this company for anything other than low cost consumables that you'd never need aftercare on.
After such a long time I'm willing to have the bike back in any state, but they refuse to give it back until QC'd. More waiting. Their processing methodology seems to be that if something is wrong or needs to be ordered, no work is done and it goes to the back of the backlog again, so the result is exponential delays.”
“Bought my bike from them and the brakes make squeaking noise I thought it will go away and it didn’t so took to mechanic who said wasn’t fitted correctly, then the worst is the tyre seem to be old stock so they started cracking in short time and their warranty department George and Gareth or Garett said this is wear and tear and not covered at all, tried to argue and to get and answer they just ignored me, don’t be a fall and waste your money their as no warranty will be given and they don’t care.”
