I just started as a host two months ago in the Dallas Fort Worth area and have nothing but terrible experiences especially from Turo themselves. Four vehicles for rent one of them a 2021 Ram 1500 limited at the time only 13,000 miles on it bought it brand new took awesome care of it and garage kept. So in August of 2024 when I started the Turo host journey. To make money and rent that vehicle out and purchased three more as I thought it would be a great way to make extra money. Big mistake and lesson learned. Turo never told me that pictures of the gas gage prior and post trip had to be uploaded to the Turo app to protect a host from a guest not returning the vehicle back with a full tank. As the check out steps require a host and a guest to both check level the gas is and this guest did not bring the truck back with a full tank of gas as I gave it to her with. So not only did I have to waste my time to go fill it up it cost me $60, I submitted a claim in the app against the guest to pay the fuel cost with the gas receipt. I Didn’t hear back from Turo on that so I called them and it’s difficult to speak to anyone and anyone who cares about the host. Especially when the guest didn’t dispute the invoice for the gas. Turo days later maybe four days later mind you I’m out this money out of my own pocket. Called Turo and they said they didn’t approve the invoice because I didn’t take pictures of the gas gage prior to the trip and after. Mind you neither did the guest. So why would I lie about this one guest not doing this when at this point maybe ten rentals so far and each guest brought all vehicles back with a full tank of gas. So I disputed the claim with Turo and a supervisor said upload picture of the gas gage prior to the trip and after I found one of the gas gage prior to the trip and emailed that to the supervisor after three days and no communication nor money reimbursed to me. I called and spoke to Turo they finally at that time saw the picture and charged the guest. I thought all was well, WRONG four or five days later so now two weeks after the guest brought the truck back two hours late, extra dirty caked on mud and not with a full tank of gas. I received an email from Turo executive support stating that the think the picture was fake and reversed the gas reimbursement and charging me $200 out of my measly earnings. 1. It’s our vehicles that are being tore up wear and tear. AND TURO DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE HOST AND THEIR ISSUES or CARS AND THESE ATE THE CARS THAT ARE MAKING TURO MONEY AS THEY CHARGE THE HOST OUT OF THIER EARNINGS TO RUN AND PAY SALARIES. I can’t afford to pay $60 out of my own pocket when a guest doesn’t return a vehicle with a full tank of gas along with other routine maintenance and repair costs. The vehicles get lots of wear and tear. 2. Another guest used the same truck in the commission of a crime tried to use it to steal a $30,000 skid steer from a rental company, after alerting Turo to that issue they never contacted me back. Same guest brought the vehicle back smelling like weed and Turo denied my professional cleaning claim stating I didn’t have pictures of the “smell” I said how the hell do you provide picture evidence of a smell and they didn’t have an answer to that. Even though Turos own policies state they don’t allow any type of smoking in a vehicle of any kind including vaping etc. 3. Turo pays its hosts in small amounts even tho the trip might earn a host let’s say $400 and the trip is three weeks long a host will get a small amount half way through and the remainder after the trip ends. 4. So really way the pros and cons of renting on Turo can you afford to pay a full tank of gas when a guest doesn’t return it with it a full tank. Or cleaning costs when the guest might use the vehicle as if they went off road with the vehicle, or afford not only the routine maintenance but all the repairs that will come due to the guest tearing up the vehicles. Do you have extra time to upload invoices for speeding tickets or parking tickets or toll fees and hope the guests pays them: as again Turo is all about the guest very minimal to no support and help for the hosts. This is all my experience in only two months being a Turo host.

The people renting cars are dishonest. After you return the car they will make a claim that you smoked in the vehicle and charge $154. Post fraudulent pictures and Turo will charge your card. Do not rent from these scam artist. I do not smoke and there was only one passenger who does not smoke as well. I hate a lier and a thief, it makes it hard for the honest people that are out here doing the right thing. Don't rent anything in Dallas Texas 11613 Denton Dr or host name Albert. Also the picture they put as the host is not the same person that is renting the vehicle. Probably because they're known scam artist. Go with your known rental car companies ( Hertz, Budget, enterprise, ect) These people are just out to scam hardworking honest people and you end up paying more with these scammers than what you will pay through legitimate car rental services.

Wow, was excited to try them, I texted Jason about his BMW that he was supposed to have waiting on my arrival at the Boston airport, No response, I got a notification i needed To upload my license the app would not allow me to do this at first, I got a call from a foreign speaking person stating the driver cancelled my trip and he would call me back to schedule another car. Did not happen, I rented from enterprise new car same money. Only will do this once.

Please do not rent a car from TURO. Their customer service is totally ineffective. There is no proper claim vetting process. If the host claims something, Turo will not even look at the proofs from the guest. Talked to them at least 5 times and sent multiple emails with all the proofs, every time they would apologize and agree but still charge the guest. I am tired and have decided to close my account with them. I will make sure I put a bad review on every review site.

The car I rented was repossessed becuase the host hadn't made payments for the vehicle. We lost all our belonging that were in the car. TURO refused to help becuase their "policy" doesn't cover personal items, even though they are responsible for the hosts they allow on their platform. They don't provide full contact details for the hosts so they is no way to claim against anyone. Total disaster and even involving the police we were told there is little they can do to help us. Despite messaging the host we got nowhere and even requesting help from Turo, or even compensation hasn't happened. BEWARE.

Warning: Stay Away from This Company I want to warn everyone to avoid this company. I’ve been dealing with a major issue for the past five months where I was defrauded after returning a car. It’s been a constant source of stress, and I’ve received mixed messages from customer service throughout the ordeal. To make matters worse, the company has billed my insurance multiple times without my authorization. This entire experience has made me a victim of insurance fraud, and I want to alert others to avoid going through what I’ve experienced. Be cautious, especially if you’re considering using this platform, as I have faced all of this trouble before even using Turo.

Please avoid renting with turo this was my first and last time renting with them the reason I rented a car was because my car was being fixed. My Host name was Jesus L. From the beginning I communicated with him a lot because I didn’t know how things worked so I one car for a few days and things was pleasant but because my car still being repaired I rented another car and I had it a little over a week and when I received it I communicated with him that I think this is blood all over the back of the car and so I returned it and he then sent a invoice of 154.00 saying that I was smoking in the car and when I go to read what he was talking about it say it was a smell which was untrue and then I contacted turo now he sent pictures saying it was things indicating that I was smoking in the vehicle I personally think he seen that I was a good customer and is trying to take advantage of me by saying these things because I spent around $800 dollars renting this vehicle these are the photos of accusing me of smoking and these are the pictures of how I received the vehicle I feel like he was trying to come up off me. I did not i repeat did not smoke in this vehicle at all i thought he was a decent person until this trying to take advantage of me

I rented with turo a total of 4 times 2 times in Canada and two times here in the US. The last time I rented was here in the US in California to be exact and it was probably the worst mistake/decision could have made the owner (ghost rentals)of this Blue car Honda civic 2015 name and if I remember right it's from Ontario California, he claimed that we scratched the side of his car and that was untrue. Anyways they charge me 2052 for that supposed scratch i fought it for months they almost returned my money but they are officially charging that amount I had to beg Turo to send me proof of the damages and invoices from the supposed mechanic and they did finally but don't show proof where they took the car it's so weird that I just don't remember ever damaging the car so I don't know if at the end the owner just try to rip us off and try to get as much money as possible i would not recommend this company anymore or if you do use it just be very careful

Please I’m begging you do yourself a favour a rent from a professional company. I was scammed from a renter. What they do is claim damages so they can cash in on the claims. The damage could be as little as a 1 inch catch and you’ll end up paying hundreds. Turo also doesn’t care for proof they will still rule in the renters favour. Pleaseeeee do not rent from the company !!

I spent a lot of time selecting a car and reserving it, then made flights and hotels around the rental, only to have the reservation abruptly canceled for no apparent reason. Found another car and reserved, same result: within a day the reservation was canceled by host, though she at least apologized. Turo tried to help find other cars for my dates, but they weren't comparable to the ones I had chosen. It took Turo 5 seconds to collect my deposit but 10 days to return my money. I would not trust my vacation to Turo and am re-jiggering everything. Unfortunately I'd needed a long term rental and they seemed a welcomed option but their hosts are unreliable and I feel relieved, though thoroughly irritated, to have escaped further let-downs and inconveniences from a "wannabe" rental agency that doesn't have their ---- together.

Anro Group LA. Rented from them and everything seemed fine (host was impatient and rushed me through the pick up process which makes sense now... I suspect he didn't want me to be able to fully inspect the car and exterior cosmetic issues) until I received a notification saying that there were "damages from an impact" to the rear bumper and that I had "tried to cover them up". The damages were not visible to me upon returning the car, if they were there at all. The images the host uploaded were two scuffs to the paint. The host then asked me to Venmo them personally $1200 without providing any sort of estimate from a legitimate repair shop. When I asked for an itemized estimate, I still only got a partial image of an estimate and it had no proof of legitimate business on it. They're also asking for contact information to talk outside of the Turo platform. I read the Turo based reviews of this company before renting and they're all glowing, so I was pretty shocked at the level of pushiness and lack of professionalism that's been displayed here. Would not recommend renting through Turo or Anro Group, the convenience and "savings" aren't really worth getting scammed and hacked. Will never use Turo again.

Turo failed to provide the necessary parking infrastructure for returned vehicles at the local airport. When I was ready to return my ride, I went to the designated, *free*, Turo parking lot at the airport economy parking lot, per the owner's instructions. Problem was, the lot was full. Other guest drivers had obviously run into the same problem, and had simply parked their rides in unauthorized spaces. These cars were all ticketed and at risk of being towed at the guests' expense. I had a plane to catch and didn;t have time to call customer service or text with the owner, or really do much but drop the car off and get to my departure gate. But I wasn't going to just abandon my ride, so I parked in the regular economy parking lot (side note, I also left the car with more gas in the tank than there'd been when I'd picked it up). I took a picture that showed I'd technically left it in the exact spot of the lot the owner had specified, but had accessed it in a different direction, and sent it to the owner. He texted me it was "no problem." I also called customer service on my shuttle ride to the departure gate, but they informed me I had to attempt to settle it with the vehicle's owner, first. Now the owner has sent me an invoice for the parking fee, but I'm disputing it because I don't think I (or anyone else who contracted through Turo--guests and owners alike) should be made to pay for Turo's failure to provide the necessary parking infrastructure.

DO NOT RENT OUT YOUR VEHICLE ON TURO! Seems great until something goes wrong. My very first renter took my 9 month old vehicle rock crawling in Moab and drove through flood waters. I have mud everywhere, including in the air intake all the way into the engine... Turo is doing everything in their power to not have to fix this vehicle, meanwhile I'm losing money every day it sits. I've spent almost 30 hours tearing the vehicle apart and cleaning mud/silt and repairing broken parts - at my own cost and my own time. Unfortunately Turo makes you sign away your rights when you sign up and requires a long-drawn out arbitration process that can take 4-6 months for resolution, and unless you pay them 40% of your earnings, you have no reprieve for lost revenue during this process.

https://turo.com/gb/en/car-rental/united-states/houston-tx/chevrolet/cruze-limited/2157089; I love Turo nevertheless I rent from this one Hist and it was a total disaster. it was a wreck yard full of cars the that getting pieced together and being rented out.. I rented a red Chevrolet Cruise and it was not in the best shape. The A/C was blowing hot air and the car wasn’t available when we got there. The guy didn’t open the doors to let us sit we gad to walk in the heat to a Gas Station to wait until he finally finished. I returned the car and after calling Turo and they gave me a credit for the Lyft. The Turo representative found me another vehicle the same day. I had to traveled further out to retrieve it that was the only thing I didn’t like. They car should have been delivered to me by the just but I wasn’t given that option. Today Sunday Sep. 30, 2024 wasn’t a good day at all for me with Turo..
