Turo, to me, has reflected that they can do what they want regardless of whether doing the right thing is the right thing to do. Several months back, I thought I would sign up for the service to check it out. I started an account with my personal email, which was confirmed by sending verification to my email. When I was starting the account, my friends name popped up, and I changed everything to my name. My friend and I a few years back were looking at cars, and he used my email so I would get the messages. I became aware of a problem when I went to verify my id, and it was revoked because the names didn't match. In my mind, I'm starting a new account in my name, but on the back end, the account stayed in my friends name. I called them, and they said my funds would be returned. They only returned 30 dollars of the 100 I paid. In order to get this taken care of so I could get my money back they requested I have that friend reach out because only he could have access to the account to verify what I am saying is true. I had the friend reach out to ask for his information to be removed from the account. After he did this, I called back, and they acknowledged that they realized that it was not my fault and that the remaining 68.26 would be refunded to me. They later sent an email stating I needed to drop the bank dispute if I wanted my money back and if I wanted to keep using turo. I had already dropped the dispute immediately after the agent said he would refund the money. I replied to the email that I didn't want to use their service ever because of all the hours I had to deal with this situation, and I just wanted my money back. Basically, they decided then not to return my money, canceled my account, and blocked me from reaching out to them. THEY BACIALLY HAVE STOLLEN MONEY FROM ME AND WRONG ME EVEN AFTER IDENTIFYING NOTHUNG WAS FRAUDULENT AND MY FRIEND REACH OUT TO VERIFY EVERYTHING. TO THIS DAY, THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY 68.26. I was recommended to try and I expressed everything when I booked what part of the airport and everything to the host through messages. I did everything like I was supposed to do. I was getting on my flight the host still did not approve my pictures until I message him. Then he told me the instructions; which was way different then what I originally had agreed with the host. I had to cancel and get another car from a rental car place. They refunded only certain amount of my cost. I would never never recommend this company to anyone!!!!

I rented a couple of times through turo, but I won't do it again. I had to extend the car one more day and they ripped me off with fees even though the car was still available for that day and many days to follow on their website. The cars I got were so so. The second one was making noises while steering. I'd stay away from this service.

Turo canceled my reservation less than an hour after I made it and refused to refund my money without any reason. This company is incredibly unfair. Please do not use them! They will steal your money without justification.

Turo Team, I received your recent email addressing the tragic events linked to your platform, and while I sympathize deeply with the victims and their families, I find it necessary to express my lack of sympathy for your company as an organization. Frankly, I am uncertain why I am even receiving these emails, as I was banned from Turo without just cause after leaving a negative review about a rental cancellation that occurred at the last minute—after I had already paid. I am not alone in this experience; I know of others who have faced similar unjust actions, including vehicle hosts who were removed from the platform with no explanation. These practices speak volumes about how Turo operates as a company. Allowing employees to make discriminatory or arbitrary decisions without accountability is a reflection of systemic issues within your organization. While addressing tragedies is commendable, it should not overshadow the need for internal reform in how you treat your users, both renters and hosts alike. These incidents underscore a critical question: how does a platform that is willing to disregard fairness and transparency internally expect to foster trust and security on a larger scale? Your damage control efforts may resonate with some, but until Turo prioritizes ethical and equitable treatment of its customers, you will continue to face valid criticism and loss of goodwill. They canceled my car due to maintenance issues less than 24 hours when I was supposed to receive it. They said it was a maintenance issue and offered me $50 in credit towards the next car purchase. I had told them we’ve looked everywhere in the vicinity and there wasn’t a rental car available in it 200 mile radius due to it being peak season. When I told them this was unacceptable they hung up the phone on me. We were really lucky that Family was able to find us a car to borrow otherwise we would’ve been SOL . They then called me back more than a week later after our trip had already ended acting like they were concerned and again offered me $50 in credit towards my next purchase. Horrible, horrible, horrible company, horrible horrible experience. Above all, they don’t let you rate your experience if you haven’t actually received the car they do this on purpose because apparently this happens a lot.

Turo refused to rent to me and I have a clean driving record and background, yet they rented to 2 individuals who chose to do unimaginable things while driving vehicles rented through Turo. Get it together!

My first time using Turo was very good! Although I will never rent from “Afaf” (White Nissan Rogue) again my experience with the company was good. I went over mileage which was no problem paying & I did end up taking care of but this lady submitted a bogus report that I smoked in the vehicle & I don’t even smoke! Nor did my 16 year old that was the only other passenger in the car! She even submitted the report & said she had evidence but never provided any evidence to the company or myself. I disputed the charges & I Thank Turo for fully investigating & having those charges removed. I hate that the recent tragedies have occurred while using vehicles operated through Turo because it’s actually a quick, convenient & reliable way of helping customers in need of reliable transportation! I will continue to use this service in the near future as well as refer family and friends!

I am host of Turo. They weren't able to resolve my invoice and wasted my lot of time on phone calls and emails. I am extremely disappointed with their service. Their policies are pathetic.

I rented from Turo, the cars were returned per the contract. I tried renting again a couple months ago and wasn't allowed. I've tried to find out why with no response from the company.

I recently used Turo to rent a car for 5 days in Phoenix. Couldn’t have been better. Worked like a charm. The car was clean and had no issues. Easy pick up and drop off. Cheaper than any rental company I could find. 5 Stars!

DO NOT PUT YOUR CAR ON THIS APP. MY car was damaged. The guest and I were working it out. Turo interfered told her she had 1hr to pay the $500 deductible or she'd be banned from Turo. THEN THEY KEPT THE MONEY. I HAVE TO FIX MY OWN CAR THEY WERE PAID TO FIX

I had rentlted several cars from Turo with no issues. The last 3 were the worst. Never again. I had avhost named Celio who rented a car to me with an expired tag and I got a ticket for the tag. After that one, I rented from a host off of 103rd and the car was dirty inside and out, with the service light on and smelled like a dirty diaper inside, I did not feel comfortable driving the car out of town, so I didn't. The last car I needed to extend it for one day and called Turo the day before it was due and the rep could not give me thevpolicy for returning the car in 24 hrs late. She only told me there is a late fee of $20+ daily car rate plus taxes. I was charged a $20 late fee which I was ok with but then also charged a $50 improper return fee which the rep never mentioned. A one day extension should've cost me around $80, but they charged me $133 even after acknowledging me that the rep Gabe the wrong info. They need to take that $50 charged and deduct it from her danged paycheck then maybe she'd learn her job and give out the right information about this companies policies.

It has been 1 year since my vehicle was hit by someone renting from turo. Never heard from Turo or the owner of the vehicle even though the woman that hit me had all my information

Yeah! According to The fine people of New Orleans an las vegas Used for terrorist activities by nuts an to blow people up or just used by the mentaly ill to kill people. You chose.... Personal...I'd rather rent a vehicle or buy a cheap car for travel. I live my life with the belief...if I love God...I show it by loving an serving people.... Jesus Christ taught me that.... Turbo ...well...seems questionable at the moment with all the terrorist using it...

Their contract may be legal but it’s very deceitful. You have to scroll down the contract to see what is charged for extra miles. Extra miles are then charged at 3.5 times the federal mileage reimbursement rate. It was my first time using the service, and I felt that I was tricked into spending $550 for a one day rental of a Jeep Gladiator. Their customer service is subpar and doesn’t allow for dispute discussion and resolution. I will not use this service again.
