They won't refund Villa only holiday. Due to Covid 19. They are now under investigation.

booked 2 villas this year trying to be organised and spread the cost which has clearly back fired on us. Villa plus ignore any communication for the last few weeks email never get a response and phone just hang forever only to be cut off. We had no choice but to pay for our June holiday due to fly out Saturday otherwise we would get cancellation fee and lose deposit. Yesterday received email saying villa still available but if we cannot get there I would have to cancel. What planet are they on! B Airways cancelled our flights a few weeks ago and refunded us almost immediately credit to them. So not sure why Villa Plus would think I could get to the villa. So trying to claim from insurance because this company are despicable and refusing to refund because I did not book everything through them, just the villa! Insurance company will need proof of payment and cancellation and villa plus very clever making me cancel and not them. I put the request to cancel through, as yet no surprise, I have not received the cancellation invoice. So not sure how long I am supposed to wait for this. This better be confirmation of the total invoice I paid and no cancellation fee, but I would put nothing past them, I really do not trust this company. I am due to go away with them in September, so they will be quick enough to contact me for the balance, again what happens, you dont pay it you get a cancellation charge, you pay it you have to fight for money back. There is nothing right about the way this company is treating people. As if myself and others are not going through enough financially etc right now this company feel its acceptable to take peoples well earned money and not repay when the trip cannot go ahead, This should be illegal the government should be stepping in. Shocking treatment, to me its theft! I feel so sorry for you all that are being treated so badly by this company like I am. Wish you all luck in getting your money back

In the same boat as many many others. Now due to pay the final balance on our Corfu holiday in September. We were given 2 choices, cancel and lose your deposit or pay up the balance and hope to get your money back if the holiday does not go ahead. No option to change the booking or use the deposit against a future holiday. No response whatsoever to my emails. Absolutely appalling customer service. I have lodged a complaint with the CMA which I suggest everyone else does. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! (assuming they stay in business).

We booked and fully paid for a villa-only in Spain for a week in May through Villa Plus , however received no information, despite them having our details, from them regarding the situation re the current global pandemic and how it would impact on our holiday , despite numerous emails and phone calls. Neither did we receive any address details or key access details as promised in their terms and conditions, prior to the commencement date . They are now refusing customer refunds on the basis that it wasn’t their problem that international tourists are banned from entering Spain , and UK residents are unable to travel . Refusing to engage in any correspondence. Having taken legal advice and that of CMA ,we know they are acting illegally, and will pursue the debt owed to us .AVOID THIS UNSCRUPULOUS UNETHICAL COMPANY- there are plenty of other decent operators out there who will not misappropriate your hard earned cash . Shame on you Villa Plus , shame .

Like so many others, we booked a villa only holiday for May half term. We would have been back for 6 days now and still not had ANY contact from them. They keep changing their Ts&Cs but it looks unlikely they will give us a refund, which according to the CMA we are entitled to. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

Same as Tracy below. Booked package. Couldn’t contact me enough when taking my money but cannot get hold of anyone. I’ve written a dozen emails and had a couple of generic responses. I’ve paid a deposit (£1600) for holiday in August and said that I wanted to talk options before paying balance (£3k) as this is what they promise on their website. It clearly states request a call back which I have - 6 times. I will not now book with them for next year (Wonder if they are going bust???) and will complain to ABTA. Good luck everyone.

Due to travel to menorca on 18th May. Contacted VP that day to be told refund would be processed within 10 days only to then receive an email saying no refund. I find it disgusting I’ve had no communication at all. Booked with you for the last 5 years but no more. Already booked our next villa holiday with Jet2. We are family who travel with our son who has special needs, we save all year for this holiday, we are absolutely devastated, £2500 out of pocket and VP couldn’t care less!

Will not refund the holiday booked. Even though I've been contacting them since the 11th of April. All I received was to not contact them and they will contact me closer to the time of the holiday. I waited and 17 days after I was supposed to go they emailed saying they are not refunding villas only. They didn't even send me full details 10/14 days prior as they was supposed to. So even if I could have gone I wouldn't have been able to get my villa as they wasn't responding. Would never book through these again.

I was due to go on holiday to Spain for 1 week last Saturday on a villa only basis. I'm not surprised that we won't be getting a refund from VP and have contacted my insurance provider and credit card company to try and seek a refund through either of those channels. The reason for the 1 star rating and the fact I will never use this company again is simply down to their communication. There has been no contact whatsoever from VP. Not an email, a text, a letter, phone call or even smoke signals. Nothing at all. I understand that my holiday wasn't ATOL protected but If nothing else I am owed an apology that they are keeping my hard earned money and giving nothing whatsoever in return. None of us could have predicted this situation however I think the best way to judge an organisation is the way in which they handle a crisis. VP have proven that not only can they not handle a crisis they also view their loyal customers with complete and utter contempt.

I had a villa only holiday booked with Villa Plus travelling on 23rd May. Spoke to a lady on that day was told I would get a full refund only to receive an email yesterday saying I wouldn’t be getting a refund. I would have been happy with a voucher but they refused. Thanks for stealing my money.

***DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY*** Villa Plus have asked us to pay the balance of our holiday or it will be cancelled. I was informed in an email by Tom from Villa Plus "Full payment is required as at present, no restrictions have been declared for your dates (August) – we do need to pay our villa owners and take payment for this booking despite the events associated with Coronavirus." I emailed and asked if at all possible to transfer the balance for a holiday for the Villa Plus 2021 programme, as I did not want to pay the balance for a holiday in August that might not go ahead and have difficulty claiming back a substantial amount of money. I was then informed by Tom that "Unfortunately, we cannot hold your deposit. The 2021 programme is unavailable as there is a delay with our villa owners due to the pandemic" My reply "Can you explain why I am expected to pay the balance for a holiday in August 2020, when you are unable to offer details for a 2021 programme due to the delays caused by the pandemic? Surely, you can understand my confusion"! I have receive two further emails informing me my holiday will be cancelled if I do not pay the deposit. This was my first and last time booking with Villa Plus, I should have trusted my instincts when reading all the terrible reviews before booking. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I have another holiday with another company who have allowed me to transfer the deposit to a 2021 programme. This is extremely poor behaviour from Villa Plus, I wonder how many large deposits they have been able to keep. I booked a full package to avoid this sort of situation but Villa Plus have abused the rules and yet lawfully been able to keep the deposits. Reading the reviews has definitely made my mind up. I will not be paying the balance. Please don't bother with a reply, I just wanted 2021 holiday makers to be aware, if Villa Plus are in doubt about a 2021 programme do not book with them!!!!!!

Just had an email from Villa Plus. We had a Villa only holiday with separate flights. We were meant to go Saturday 16th may to 23rd. THEY ARE NOT REFUNDING MY MONEY!

DISGUSTING VILLA PLUS, THIS SHOULD BE CLASSED AS BLATANT THEFT! I Have an email from the 7th of April from villa plus confirming I will receive a full refund or transfer my HARD EARNED PAID IN FULL MONEY to another holiday/date. They have emailed me yesterday 28th may telling me I’m getting NOTHING!!! The country (Cyprus) is still in partial lockdown and are not accepting British tourists so how the hell is my villa still available????? I have used villa plus for several years and usually have a few trips a year which means you have had plenty of my money in the past and I would class myself as a good LOYAL customer, TIME FOR YOU TO STEP UP AND START DOING THE RIGHT THING VILLA PLUS. I will be leaving bad reviews on every possible platform I can find until this is resolved, I will also be contacting trading standards and media outlets to vent my disgust over your treatment of customers, I can see from your reviews I’m not the only person being RIPPED OFF! I want to speak to someone from your company ASAP, Don’t even bother trying to call them as they just cut you off after waiting 20 minutes on hold, POOR VILLA PLUS VERY POOR

We have just been told that we are not getting a refund for our holiday which was all paid for (villa only) 3k, the holiday was meant to take place 21st MAy until today and yest we have been chasing via email, facebook, numerous phone calls and they have changed their policies twice and stated that because Portugal have lifted their lockdown they still expected us to travel. Hoe thick are you people, firstly the UK is still on lockdown and no essential travel is to be undertaken, we have had refunds for both our flights and told that they have been cancelled so how on earth did you expect us to travel to Portugal, secondly if you were expecting a villa to be occupied for 9 days why have you not contacted us to see where we are. This company has scammed several hundred people and have kept their hard earned money, i hope i am not the only one going to the ombudsman and watchdog for how disgusting their service is and the lack of communication from them.

Should have gone on holiday on 13th May, been waiting patiently for my refund no joy, they are ignoring all emails and phone calls, next I will contact Matt Albright on Watchdog as he is willing to take on these holiday companies who are illegally holding holding back our refunds never book with Villa Plus again

Due to travel on 16 th of may having paid them over 3.5 k back in feb I have had no contact since then I was relaxed about my refund for villa only stay because up to last Thursday they were promising refunds within 10 days of departure This has now changed on their web advice page and I cannot get any response from them at any source this is truly shameful

The current situation is obviously unprecidented, and for that reason I think most customers of Villa Plus are prepared to cut them some slack. However, the absolute lack of communication and moving of the goalposts is absolutely astonishing. We were due to begin our holiday TODAY but have received no communication to date, not even a holding email to all customers, let alone notice of cancellation of our (villa only holiday) or details of rebooking or refund options. Meanwhile, another check of the statement on their website now suggests customers are only entitled to a refund if they've booked a full package holiday through them, when earlier this week it stated that we would receive a refund within 10 days of our travel date. The statement is vague in the extreme: "If you have booked a villa only holiday then we will contact you separately." When? By email? Phone? To say what - you'll not be refunding us? It'll take 90 days? Meanwhile, emails go unanswered, no-one can get through on the phone, social media posts are met with a wall of silence. Though they're still targeting me with ads urging me to book a holiday for 2020! People will remember which companies responded to this situation by treating their customers with contempt, though given the way they've pulled up the shutters then I wouldn't be surprised if they fold before we've been contacted, let alone by the time we're ready to book a holiday again. Now, give me my money back.

Was meant to go away on 14th may 2020 up to press had no calls or emails on when money will be refunded despite the site saying we will contact you 3-5 days before travel. No chance I'm booking with villa plus again so quick to take money but nowere to be seen when it's time to give it back

I have been trying to pay a final balance for nearly 2 weeks now, cannot get anyone to answer the phone, no one replies to emails sent to the dedicated "Balances" email address, the online payment system is not working...! i now have only 4 days left to pay the balance before they say i have defaulted on the booking and try to keep my deposit.... this will be going straight to my solicitor.! Avoid Villaplus at all costs after this terrible display of service and customer consideration.
