at the Queensway location, I found a dress on the floor without the price, when I was cashing out I asked the cashier for a price check. She got the merchandiser Sandra to come back with her price of $280 for BA&SH dress retailed $450. I pointed out to the merchandiser that another same brand dress on the floor was priced at $99 (retailed $360). this merchandiser was extremely rude saying that this is the price. the poor cashier kept apologizing to me for this SANDRA rude behavior. HOW LEGAL IS IT FOR merchants to make up pricing/doubling the price of the items? COMPANY SHOULD train their employees not just HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRODUCTS AND PRICING BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. this merchandiser SANDRA was extremely RUDE and had no product knowledge.

We visited Winners 3105 Highway 7 Markham this afternoon at about 2pm. My wife asked a chubby lady staff at the door where the washroom is? She answered no washroom, and said go to Home Depot. So I went. After going to Home Depot , come back & discovered washroom is located in the farthest left corner of this store. I lost the mood to shop in this store any more. How dare a staff lying to customers! Btw I am handicapped with severe hip arthritis. We are regular customers of this store as we live in Markham. Next time I want to buy anything I will give myself a second thought . I feel Winners don’t welcome us. Why go there ? The tone of the chubby staff very rude too

Manager attacked me in the store before I could reach the cashier with my 139 dollar Sorel boots because I had put shampoo into my carry bag to take to the cashier from my cart. I was falsely accused and and banned from the store. I've spent thousands at that store and most of their clothes are garbage. I'd look for shoes there but not anymore. They'd usually have major flaws anyway. Never again Winners thanks for the humiliation. Never shop at Winners.

I have shopped at Winners for over 30 years and was once the biggest cheerleader for other people to shop at this chain to find good quality merchandise at fair to excellent prices. Unfortunately the corporate greed machine and money grab for increased profits has caused Winners stores in general to have steadily gone downhill in the last ten to fifteen years. A lot of their clothing and household goods are really of very poor quality and are not worth the money being asked for them. Similarly, the selection of goods is really limited. Often I find broken or damaged goods that should not even be on the floor "discounted" and put on the shelves to be sold "as is". Examples of these items are chipped or dented crockery items, stained clothing with missing buttons, broken zippers, and even tears or holes in the fabric. Many stores are understaffed, disorganized, and dirty. Shopping carts at several stores that I have been to in Mississauga, Oakville, and Burlington habitually litter the parking lots and pose parking hazards to potential customers. Bathrooms are frequently dirty. Jewellery items are increasingly very poorly made and are way over-priced. Items touted as "designer" items are frequently over-priced costume jewellery made of cheap materials. I love animals, but unless they are truly registered and properly trained "service animals" dogs should NOT be allowed in Winners (or other) stores. Their presence poses potential health and safety hazards to people with small children, along allergies, and sanitation issues. Until Winners improves the quality, selection, and pricing of its merchandise to offer customers good products at fair prices, I recommend that customers keep their money in their wallets and don't buy crappy merchandise. As long as customers settle for poor merchandise, poor service, and high prices, Winners CEOs will keep the greed machine in full swing and offer increasingly poor quality at increasingly higher profits. People could very well find better quality and much better prices in consignment shops, thrift stores, and the Salvation Army. Save your money, time, and energy and shop elsewhere at better stores.

I had a jacket that I purchased for around $50 from Winners last month. After attempting to return the item because there were rips in the sleeves, they refused to take the item back. I guess their policy is to never take things back that have been worn. If this is true, then the measure of a clothing item's quality would never be known. My family comes from a clothing retail background, and this would never have been an issue. The item could simply be returned to the company, and the retail outlet would be reimbursed. What happened to the idea that a customer comes first? I'm one amongst you that when I see something like this happen - even after spending large sums of money at chosen companies I refuse to go back. I wonder if these companies know that customers built up one at a time can easily be lost the same way - never to return again. I advise looking into the store's return policy before ever walking into the store.

Hello I need to talk with customer service or the HR department about one of the managers in the Winners ( Location is : 10520 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3C7). She was so rude to me and yelled at me. This behaviour from an manager in your store is a very shocking it hurt my feelings. I was wondering if we can have a meeting about details before I take the next step. Please connect me with this email elhambajelan@yahoo.com

I have been an extremely loyal customer since 2007. Purchased thousands of merchandise, almost always not returning items. During the pandemic l haven't shopped for over two years. About 6 weeks ago l finally felt comfortable enough to go out and shop again. Today l was heartbroken because l came back to bring back one dress that l purchased about a week ago without a receipt. I was told that l couldn't bring back anything without a receipt. Goodbye winners l will be shopping elsewhere.

It used to be fairly good. Never as good as TJMAX in us. Lately I have gone over few times overcrowded racks with bad cheep junk. Better learn the lesson Target Canada did. Target Canada was nothing like the us one. Canadians are not stupid.

Anonymous These are very general comments I will mention stores that have very poor staff. Yonge and HighTech. The staff are scrutinizing looking over items that require a refund. Tags are attached bill available. Still your employees scrutinize and waste customers time this is ignorant especially if you are a frequent shopper at Winners. The only decent and friendly employees are in jewelry and some of the managers are nice. The employees are gossiping about customers. This is a fact. It’s rude and uncalled for esp the older woman. Not all employees as per se ! This excludes the lovely woman In jewelry at that location. Change of staff that enjoy working w the public is strongly advised. This is also at Gerry Fitzgerald location and Centre street you seem to have the same type of staff. Your items are used and still sold. You sometimes don’t find out until you use them esp hair products and some clothing. This is a fact. Also the new stores appearance; change isn’t always better. Before stores were quaint now they are similar to a value village appearance wise and selection of items. Quality over quantity!! This goes w everything including your staff. Friendly and pleasant. Hiring more males would be nice. At least they don’t talk about customers when they are bringing back an item. It’s ignorant and inappropriate period.

Unfortunately I had one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered at a Marshall’s store in Winnipeg. Definitely a discriminatory issue with an employee who would not accept a return I had, all tags on the item with receipt. I called and spoke with head office, and the woman I spoke with was very empathetic. She worked hard to resolve the matter and guaranteed that the district manager would call with an apology. However, it’s been weeks and still no apology. I’m a teacher in my community and I understand that we are all busy, but if you say you’re going to do something to rectify a situation, then you should be held accountable to do so. I’m so disappointed and will not be returning to this store and will be sharing my experience with everyone I know. It’s a shame this wasn’t taken seriously, your customer service should be of the utmost importance. Regards, J

Wanted to buy a purse that had a Marshalls tag of 34.99. Great just what i wanted then i get to the cash. The cashier checked with a lady who said yes that was the price she just needed to put a winners ticket on it. Then the other lady comes back with the same purse and says no its 59.99. I told them they could keep it. When i called the head office to complain she gave me the run around and said shed get back to me. 3 days later i get a response. Oh this was priced on American dollars and it should have been explained to me. Worst service and im sure they dont care that it will be a long yime before i go there again if ever

Bought a pair of shorts clearly marked as size 32 - even the sewn-in size was 32. Lost the receipt and when I went to wear the shorts they were 38! Measured them with a tape measure to confirm that size was 38, not 32. This was a defective item with an incorrect size, which is probably why the mainstream store could not sell it and it ended up at Winners. The stores sell defective products based on my experience.

Hello Earlier today Jan 27/2023 at around 2.0 p.m. I went to winners store at 4841 yonge street, to return a pant I bought for my brother a day before that was on sale. The pant is black in color size 42. It looks new, no dirt on it of any kind one of tag was still intact I had the price tag and the receipt. My brother tried the pant for a quick few seconds this morning but it didn't fit him. I presented everything to the employee at the cash register her name is close to saida. She looked at the pant and said that the pant had been used and that she didnt accept to return it. The pant looked very new had nothing on it other wise I wouldn't have bought it for my brother and I brought it back the same condition as I t was the day before. Now , I am on power wheelchair and I usually buy clothes and stationary from winners in same location and other location so I am a regular there and one other place. And sometimes I buy clothes and can't try them on in the store because I am tired and it's very inconvenient for me to try the clothes in the store. And always I returned clothes in the same condition I buy them. But today she refused twice to return the pant I told her tel me where the pant show that I've used it she couldn't support her argument. Another male employee came and said that he was going to call security but he didn't because he didn't have a case. So I went outside and found the security in the same building i showed him the pant and he confirmed that the pant is new. I told him that in order for me to return to that store she need to apologize because she stressed me for no reason. But the security is nice guy and thaTs not his job. For almost one year I've been buying alot of clothes and stationry from winners. But now I am thinking she is changing the return policy on me whenever she wants .shes the manager in that store. And why am I the exception. I asked for an apology the male employee said no on her behalf. I think I am being discriminated against and that I will not tolerate. I gave them the benefit of the doubt before and now I am fed up that's why I am writing this review. I will think 10 times before buying anything from winners because now I am thinking it might not be returned. I would like to hear an apology from the manager female and the male person other wise I will never return to that location again and I will tel everybody I know about my experience. Thank you hope to see a resolution.

I was checking out number of items today. When the sales lady got to a sweater, she said this is the wrong price and IMMEDIATELY RIPPED OFF the clearance sticker. I asked her to stop and she didn’t, I asked her to call the manager and the manager would not honour the price. I have uploaded a picture of the item, after the sales clerk ripped off the sticker and stuck it back on for the picture and the manager who would not make this right!

I absolutely LOVE Winners, but I HATE that every time I go there, I run into a damn dog. I have a huge phobia/fear of dogs. It is absolutely disgusting that they allow an animal in a store. VERY unsanitary and disrespectful to those who hate dogs. Makes me think twice before stepping foot into Winners for that reason alone. Otherwise I absolutely love that store!!

I was at the winners location 650 Matheson Blvd W. I was purchasing several sale items and had gone to the cash to pay. cashier decided to take all of items and started checking their tags and stickers. And this time again cashier did not tell why she was doing this, or ask me if it was okay. She told me that it was too low of a price???? I asked her if the discount was done by the store as I do know that it can be verified on the original tags all of which were still attached by security tag. NO WAY I WOULD have been able to switch tags?? or if I did put on another 'SALE' PRICE it would not match the original tag which is still attached by security tag!! ANYWAY it gets better this cashier gave this one specific dress to head co-ordinator. Dress Finders Keepers (not a huge brand) it has original price as $69 and reduced to $9. She takes the item and goes away to check? and in mean time the cashier starts to scan and check all the other tags??? the cashier telling me that she does not see this sale price for this jacket in the system..... AGAIN I asked her who put that sale price on the item???? This whole experience was extremely humiliating and in violation of consumer protection act. the coordinator brought back the dress all of the tags and discounted prices where legit but not the unprofessional behaviour of the winners??? staff

The employees don't look overly happy at the Ottawa location. They look drained. I asked the girl at the counter if I could speak to the general manager about a issue she replied "hes not here very often, but I can call a supervisor" I found that very odd an employee would say their main manager isn't in the store often. Made me question why the employees looked very drained and tired. My interaction with the Male supervisor was unpleasant he was very snarky and snickering with a gay like additude. There was a issue with my receipt I just wanted rectified. Needless to say I left the store questioning the way they run a business. In the end another girl behind the cash helped with the issue I came in for. Not the manager or supervisor a young girl figured it out. This place left a bad empression, like everything was disorganized and stressed out staff.i think I'll try a different winners from now on.
