“Went to the Costa Coffee in Guisborough, the staff were really friendly, they made me feel really welcome as though I was part of the family.
The coffee was great and really well made, nice clean store and everyone seemed to be friendly including the customers, very chatty.
I will definitely go back in the future.”

Acting Manager , OH Dear! A very rude, arrogant and angry individual.

Dreadful with Customers and Staff Alike.
Did not bother looking at the purchase ticket , and proceeded to use the incorrect milk , that could have made my husband ill.
I understood your policy on allergy problems were meant to be stringent..
Sent a member of his staff out to impart the strange news to us that he was the manager.. When asked about this he became very insulting telling me I know your sort.. Of course I intend getting to the bottom of this remark. As It could only mean one thing..
He then barred loyal customers , who have always frequented Costa , and got on great with them. Ask your staff who have always been treated with the greatest respect by us, as they have to us. Until the angry acting manager came along.
Barring us throughout Newark stores, and referring to us as Mocha/Skinny couple.... of which I have photo proof
Well I am dark skinned and my husband sadly is skinny through a wasting disease.!!!!
No point going to the divisional as was informed by a reliable source that I would have to email her, and she would in turn tell me I was barred. Without the truth being brought out in the open.
We feel very strongly about this matter, because of the actions and things your acting manager said, even after we left Costa.
I also do not appreciate on the group chats that he accused us of being belligerent to him and our customers.
I was approached by a customer to say they had heard his behaviour towards me..

“It is unacceptable that emotes at Costa are not allowed NOT to put lids on hot drinks for 'health and safety' reasons.
Have you any idea what the long term consequences to health are by the constant use of plastic just to protect us walk a few feet to a table in a Costa shop?.
If you have 2,500 outlets in the UK and serve 100 drinks a day that's 1/4 million lids a day just to take a drink to a table. CRIMINAL!!!”
“Ordered a Americano with milk.
No milk when got to my table as l was waiting a while for a warm sandwich, went back to add milk as it was left on side and the male member of staff was rather rude to me in front of other customers. Prior to that he moved my tray and spilt the americano all over saucer. This was Anlaby Hull. What a shame as the lady who served me was really nice and friendly. Annelle on receipt.”
“Due to ill health not been to muy local Costa Coffee in Glastonbury for a while. Today was delighted that despite my disability due to health issues, they were as lovely and helpful as ever.
Special mention to young lady, Fayre (?). Apologies if I have spelt name incorrectly... who saw me struggling and came to my assistance... with a lovely smile.

“Costa Coffee at Pallion Sunderland . The shop was not that busy. Counter service was quick and efficient . My main reason for giving this shop one star is because there were too many tables requiring to be cleared of dirty crockery and hygienically wiped over. As we left the shop there were only 2 tables occupied md no-one awaiting service at the counter or in the drive through but 6 tables requiring clearing and wiping over . At this point of time 3 members of staff were seen to be in attendance . Must do better !!!!”
“Was waiting with family for a table, and when finally got one, a worker came along and forced us to give up our table to someone else or leave so we left and said if you want our table would you want our drinks too. I know where to spend my money from now on. Not costa at galleries.”

“I was stood in the cue waiting to be served dancing a cake with my coffee
Then I noticed a fly walking over the cakes in display cabinet
That put me off straight away I reported it to staff behind counter but they did nothing about it and just carried on pity the person who purchased the cakes
The cake display cabinet should be enclosed so nothing can get in very poor will not be buying anymore cakes from Costa”
“Just want to say how great the costa is at Milton Keynes hospital is.
Chris and her team are always so welcoming and chatty.
They know all the regulars orders and always make the drinks really well, which is not the case at other stores.
It’s always nice to sit there before a shift and be calm before a shift”
“I had a free drink offer for £2 ,but none of the drinks you offer are this price the member if staff made a mistake on the till and I lost my reward even though it was un spend able any how .”
“Costa coffee , well I varied it you get a good one one not as to who’s making it . Most of the sandwiches are white bread , there was no brown toast no butter . No healthy meals either . And no pizza beachside it’s seasonal lol 😂 what a shambles”
“Went to Costa in Hanley, Stoke on Trent with my two children. Ordered a Kit Kat Frappe for my 9 year old which the poster advertises as coming with a Free Malteaser Bunny and which cost £4.45 for a small sized one along with 3 portions of toast and 2 other large drinks. When the young girl made the drink I asked where the Bunny was. She said ‘we’ve run out’. I said ‘can my daughter have some marshmallows … please’. She said ‘that will cost extra’. I responded ‘but you’ve run out of the Bunnies surely you can give her some marshmallows’. I said ‘you should have told me when I ordered’. She said ‘I did’. I said ‘what did I say’ as I really hadn’t taken in that information if she had said so. There was no apology, smile, enthusiasm etc. How harsh, uncaring and petty to refuse giving out 2 or 3 marshmallows for my daughter who was disappointed about not getting the chocolate bunny. Maybe they need to stock up better in future! as someone who works in retail myself on the checkouts I make a point of being polite, friendly and apologetic. Usually I find the staff in Costa to be lovely. Not this time!”
