“I have been selling on Etsy for over 4 years. We had thousands of orders. The customers were quite happy, the score of our shop was about 4.7 out of 5 !!! All the reviews were very positive, except for a few reviews for which we delivered the wrong items or for which the transporters lost the parcel or have delayed the delivery (nobody is perfect, we as a small workshop and company, do also mistakes and we always pro-actively compensate or refund customers whenever such issue happened). In 4 years, we had 4 disputes with customers (out of thousands of orders). All those disputes were due to the transporter's fault (shipping delays). Of course some customers are not willing to understand that WE ARE NOT working for the transporter, and that this situation annoys us as much as them... Regardless, Etsy BANNED US from selling on their store, despite us having a very good rating with our customers, and always trying to find solutions to please them. Etsy did not allow us to make any appeal or whatsoever. I woke up a morning reading an email saying that our store was banned, that I will never be able to open a store anymore on Etsy, and that they would not reply any of my emails after that. I find this treatment really not fair, respectful nor professional for a company listed on the NYSE ! After discussing with few other Etsy sellers, I realized that I was not the same in this case, and that Etsy's treatment to its sellers was quite unfair as MANY complained about similar issues, and about the fact to not be protected by Etsy. Some of the sellers on Etsy have been scammed by Etsy customers (received the product but also got their money back for invalid reasons), and Etsy did nothing about it. This is a shame for such company, and that clearly show how those big corporation really treat people. Etsy pretend to help small artisans and artists to develop their business, while the only thing they care about is their own profit and stock prices. Shame on Etsy, I will never sell nor buy anything from them again.”

“Etsy are dishonest! They have thousands of fake accounts that troll and save your items, they place them in baskets and favourite them, they use Etsy like it is Pinterest! These trolling accounts save thousands of items, then Etsy advise sellers to give discounts to people who favourite your items. So they try to drive your prices down. Not one real buyer in the World would put thousands of items in baskets, or save your items just to look at, they are FAKE! Also they save your photos on Pinterest, use them as advertising and inflate the price! So when potential customers click on your item listing, it looks like the price has been heavily reduced. Why the 5* reviews on here? Because Etsy are brilliant at employing people to be fake buyers and sellers. They are ruining business for small sellers, allowing the China market to dominate! They sell ten a penny tat and claim it is vintage and handmade. It is not! It is factory outlet rubbish, they have ruined many people and now are faking reviews, they have fake sellers and fake buyers. Another company I will gather evidence on and send said evidence to Watchdog! Etsy is a terrible company!”

“NO seller protection what so ever. Buyer is able to open an item not received case before the end of the estimated delivery date. Etsy close the case and refund the buyer automatically after a few days. Nothing is in place to stop the scammers. If you don't want to get scammed, do not sell here.”

“Avoid selling on this platform. This is the last straw for me, I am running an online boutique and I sell untreated Jade for example and have to compete with sellers lying that their jade is untreated and that is not right. I sell other small goods and boutique gifts and some customers do not aknowledge a tracking number and begin extortion and sending threats of it if I do not do as they tell me. The last instance is a customer in the USA, I sent them tracking number and they ignored me and wrote in another seperate message asking where it was more than once and then began sending me threats, they were trying to get the item free by pretending to not know what was going on, they left a 1 star review claiming the item was not at their house when tracking shows it was and a note was left and Etsy says that does not violate their policies. This has happened more than once. Etsy will leave you feeling bad as no matter how you try they will allow buyers to do this, add to that the amount of fakes, clear fakes one competes with it is not fit for use. I will now have to leave after everything I have done on Etsy I am leaving and I reccommend others do too.”

“Worst place to buy . They will keep on adding additional delivery charges despite you already paying for it. The customer service team is not bothered and they wont refund. Its a waste. Avoid at all costs unless if you want to get cheated.”

“I purchased an AirPod pro case which did not fit the AirPods as there is a design fault with them. The seller told me to retract my negative review and then I would get a full refund which I did and guess what? I’ve not had the refund!!! SCAMMERS!”

“We ordered and paid for a product on Nov. 24 paid for it at order time was promised a 7 to 10 day delivery. Still do not have product after daily emails with photos included where the company keeps making excuse after excuse of why we dont have it even giving us fake tracking numbers. Etsy has been no help getting seller to send product or refund our money. Unfortunately ruining a Christmas for someone I love. DO NOT order from Etsy they are not helpful to customers. “Etsy supported Seller, ArtDecoTr Eren SAVAS https://artdecotr.ecrater.com/ advertises on Amazon, Etsy and social media pages. I have purchased a wall clock from them under the link: "Large Wall Clock,Modern Wall Clock,Wooden Wall Clock,Decorative Clock,Engagement Wedding Gift,Large Unique Wood,Home decor ,Gift for Friend Large Wall Clock,Modern Wall Clock,Wooden Wall Clock,Decorative Clock,Engagement Wedding Gift,Large Unique Wood,Home decor ,Gift for Friend" The description stated that the item is made out of "Material: Wood (Not any plastic,unnatural or synthetic materials)" The cost was AUD $131 at the time. The item arrived on 18th of June 2019 in a ripped, soft, cheap, paper bag without any structural support (a flat clock, 60 cm in diameter traveling across the world, put into a paper bag!), the packaging did not even have any bubbles or foil, it was half open. The item is not made of wood but the poorest quality leftover melamine and paper, factory cut, not handmade, the color is not consistent through, the white looks yellowish gray, the clock is bent, scratched, and it looks like it got wet during transport as the finishing is peeling off. I am fighting for a refund, the seller 'Eren Savas' (doubt an actual person) communicates with an automated, templated poor English (classic scammer), 'she' either does not respond at all or is delaying the process, very difficult to deal with. It has been 6 days now and still no refund - basically, a dodgy scamming developing country business. I do not believe I am a one-off. I suspect this is a dodgy company in Turkey (that's where the item came from) portraying itself as a boutique art items supplier. I question the quality of Etsy advertisement policies and authenticity of Etsy reviews, there is another review stating they never got their item from this seller and Etsy still has not removed the seller. I wonder how much Etsy gets from it! BE WARY!”
