“Almost got into a fight with a member of staff, after he started mouthing off to me as I was walking out of the store. This isn't what I would expect, when going for a night out, let alone trying to buy some groceries.
This happen at the Loughborough, Leicestershire store on Saturday 26 June 2021 at approx 21:45. Judging by the reviews written here, it would appear that they do employ a lot of aggressive louts.”
“Work for Lidl and starve!
Lidl deducted the whole of a months salary from a warehouse worker without any notice, leaving them penniless. The employee only found out about the deduction when he went to pay for lunch at the warehouse canteen. When contacting his bank he found that his wages were not paid in. Querying this with management he found that Lidl claimed it had overpaid him 10 months ago and was deducting the monies "owed" (a whole months wages) now. He didn't even have the cash for transport home. Management response "Not our problem file a grievance report" No money for food, rent, energy let alone money to get to work. Is this an example of a good company or one that is not fit to work for?”
“Virtually none existstant customer service. Made a warranty claim and Lidl think it's acceptable for me to wait 3 months for a replacement! Only time they will reply in a decent time is if you complain about them and that's only to refute your accusation, not to actually sort your problem out. Lost my custom.”

“I am only making a valid complaint in a very isolated area and is no reflection on how I would rate Lidl generally. The current re-labelled Golden Goose Ale has dropped from a reasonable 4.5% to what I believe is the same Golden Ale peddled by Aldi at 4.1% ABV.
Golden Goose was a fine medium to strong golden ale on a par with Hobgoblin Gold but has been reduced by 0.4% probably by commissioning Marstons to create the same mediocre ale sold at Aldi and does not fool anyone.
If serious about competing with Aldi, Lidl should have left the Golden Goose Ale at 4.5% ABV and charged a pound for it. I will not buy the weaker version and rather pay ten pence more for the IPA at 5% ABV.”
“My brand new boots were damaged on entering the newly renovated store at Handforth, having sent photos of my footwear and as requested Posting my boots to customer services - also suggesting they repair the faulty entrance matting to avoid anyone else tripping I was sent a form to claim the cost of my boots - this started in November 2020. Now 5 months have passed, numerous weekly phone calls to customer services - I am now without boots or compensation. Customer services blame the Accounts Department so have had no option but to raise a case with the Small Claims Court. It is apparent customer care is not a priority at Lidl - I now intend to be loyal to another brand. Very disappointing.”
“Over half of a bunch of roses bought for special occasion (Β£24.99) had withered or died 2-3 days later. Contacted customer services who after answering initially, asking for receipt details etc, which I sent, ignored any further correspondence. Customer satisfaction non existent. Dreadful!”

“I purchased a Parkside compressor over a year ago. I tested it when I purchased it and it seemed OK. When I went to use it a month or 2 later it was faulty. It turned out to be the electric motor was shot. They put me in touch with tool help. They were very unhelpful. I needed proof of purchase even though lidl knew I purchased it from them on my credit card. That took about a month to sort out. Tool help agreed to send me a replacement compressor. After 3 months no compressor so I contacted them. They apologised and said they'd sort it out. Then about 2 months later a knock at my door and there was a very badly packaged compressor outside my door. When I tried to pick it up the packaging disintegrated. The compressor was damaged probably in transit with the very dodgy packaging. So then I'm left with 2 broken compressors. Customer service tool help no one cared. I wanted my money back. They said they would give me a Voucher for the value of he compressor that can only be spent in the store. I pay money for a compressor that is faulty get messed around for a year, emails phone calls and end up having to lug 2 compressors back to lidl to get a voucher like I cannot impact them in any way. Unbelievable. I took the voucher but only because I felt I had no choice.”
