“Have bought few bits from Curry's over the years and have no issues, even from customer service.
Bought item on Wednesday this week in Galway, Rhys was able to advise me on the washing machine i wanted. Organised delivery for today (Saturday).
All went as said, for message informing me of delivery window, then driver rang 30 mins before to say he was on way.
Driver Martin was a gent. Took away old washing machine, dropped new beside install place, think away packaging.”
“On the 16th of November 2024, We purchased a Bosch Dishwasher, this was installed the following day incorrectly
After nearly three months this dishwasher remains unusable. I have followed the Currys process to the T as outlined below, and the matter still remains unresolved.
It is amazing that the purchase of a simple dishwasher can be so difficult A brief synopsis of the events for those interested
1. Installation on the 17th of November 2024(team late aggressive and rude)
2. Currys engineer return call following my complaint in early January 2025 after returning from vacation. The engineer noted that the machine had been incorrectly installed and that the front leg had broken in the process. He immediately ordered a replacement machine, saying that he was unable to do anymore until the new machine arrived.
3. The new machine arrived with the original installation team to reinstall. Instead of replacing the machine they simply removed the broken leg and replaced it with one from the new machine The installation team was now even more aggressive and rude suggesting that I broke the leg. They refitted the front facia panel to the integrated machine which was coming away.
4. A few days later an error 31 appeared. I tried to reset it without success. I phoned Currys and was told to contact Bosch for an uplift instruction. I phoned Bosch and an engineer was booked for an assessment
5. On 17th of January, the Bosch engineer arrived. He immediately noted that the machine had been incorrectly fitted without the bosch supplied fittings. He advised me that the error 31 arose as a result the door would not shut properly, water had leaked down into the tray giving rise to the error 31. He then removed the facia and noted two “illegal” holes had been drilled in the appliance face to attach the facia and that it had been glued to the machine to prevent separation. He told me that this fitment would void the machine warranty.
6. I submitted the Bosch report to your customer service desk and they insisted that a Currys engineer do an inspection, I booked this appointment for today.
7. Currys engineer agrees with the Bosch report. I am told that he would arrange for the office to call me and arrange collection.
8. Received a call from man (refused to tell me his surname) from the depot advising me that they could not arrange a collection / refund. I would need to contact customer service.
9. Matter remains unresolved, but I am told that they will respond in up to 48 working hours !”
“Tv delivered broken currys refusing refund or replacement because I didn't open the box within 48 of delivery ...it was a present in black friday sale ...several store visits and hours on the phone no body helping ...Do not buy from these there cowboys am now 700 down and stuck with a tv screen that's black ...”
“My husband purchased an Apple watch in store for me as a surprise Xmas gift. I opened the box, tried it on and it was too big. Took it back to store to be told there was no exchange or refund as the packaging had been opened! Was then told that I should have tried it on in store…it was a surprise gift!! They then offered £64 for it (£229 paid 2 days before) Absolutely disgusted and now stuck with a watch that doesn’t fit and over £200 out of pocket! Curry’s you should be ashamed of yourselves, absolute theft 😡😡
At the very least you should be telling your staff to make sure the customer knows before they buy, if it was bought online there would have been no problem!! Please explain the difference and make it make sense.
Others please be warned, do not get ripped off like we have been 😡😡”
“CUR2453539063
I purchased a ASUS Zenbook Duo 14" 2 in 1 Laptop mid October away on a work trip. I was so busy that I had no time to use the laptop but only to purchase software I needed like office and antivirus.
I didn’t even realise my product was faulty and after the 30 day period I saw the second screen was warped and the keyboard was not sitting flat. I compared it to another product in store (same model) and knew I had a faulty product. I called and emailed Curry’s explainng the situation and asked for a replacement. I explained I was very busy and had no time to fully test the product and it’s such a unique laptop that I didn’t even realise it was faulty. Customer service said the 30 day period had passed and they cannot help but try to repair the item which will need to go to Asus for the repair. I explained I had purchased extended warranty with Asus and wanted to know if this would make a difference. I was advised to go straight to Asus because it would be quicker due to the fact that curry’s will have to send it to them.
Waited almost a month and Asus sent back the laptop with the same issue, no repair of the warped screen just replaced the keyboard. I was fuming with them and contacted curry’s because just as curry’s and Asus, they love making it seam like they know the law re: consumer rights act. I explained to curry’s that I was advised by customer service that this laptop would be repaired at Asus and told to send it to them directly as it would speed the process up. Under the consumer act, I have the right to request for a refund or replacement if a repair hasn’t been successful.
Store manager from curry’s says she will email me and never does. It’s been the worst experience and it’s the second time this has happened with curry’s. First time with a cooker that was faulty and not repaired; years ago and now recently with this laptop. John Lewis or other retailers are very helpful and care about abnormal circumstances because they do try to help and get the job done. Actually every other tech retailer I have dealt with has been worth the business. With curry’s it never is because their brand is weak and it’s clear that their business isn’t worth the time a day for any person who has an issue. Things are not black and white and problems like this are unique. People who deal with customers need to know what to do when something doesn’t go as straight as the procedure state.
I will never recommend, condone this company or do business with curry’s again. You’ll get ripped off if you’re faced with an issue. I have an expensive laptop that I can’t even use. My wife needed it for work and now we are stuck with a faulty product. Curry’s sends me to Asus, asus sends me to curry’s: the retailer but no one wants to help. Lazy staff who already have the answer No at the tip of their tongue who don’t listen or try to understand. Badly paid staff do not care about customers. Terrible company. I hate the day I ever made the decision to buy from curry’s.
I hope you lose even more market share because as a company, you’re already degrading.”
“Absolutely amazing young lady parvathy helped me out so so much, she explained to me what was my best purchase and explained the difference in everything I ask , a very pleasant young girl and I'm very happy with my purchase thanks a million parvathy for helping me out so much have a lovely Christmas 🎄”
“I am extremely disappointed with Currys' service. I placed an order and, just 30 minutes later, received an email stating that my order had been canceled without any explanation. The email also mentioned that no payment had been taken. However, when I tried to place a new order, my £300 eVoucher was declined due to "insufficient balance."
I contacted customer service, and they informed me that it would take 3-5 days to process the refund. This is completely unacceptable, as I now have to wait several days to use the money that is rightfully mine.
This experience has been frustrating, and I expected better from a company like Currys. They need to improve their communication and refund process to avoid putting customers through such unnecessary hassle.”
“Bought a fridge freezer online , tried to contact about a fault on purchase , call centre based in South Africa, no one seemed to have any idea how to respond, redirected several times to try and get a solution; a total waste of time and effort. Why can't we speak to someone who can actually resolve an issue? Why are call centres in South Africa ? Currys , like a lot of UK companies, are not interested in customer care. I would advise anyone to think twice before embarking on purchasing on line. I had to contact the manufacturer to get advice. I appreciate people in South Africa need jobs but so does the UK . More importantly customers need a service that is fit for purpose. This is not . Its a disgrace. Be warned!!!!”
“Very poor service. I ordered a laptop for click and collect and need it for tomorrow. I ordered it in plenty of time. So far it's three days late and customer service states It's been lost in transit. It's been raised for investigation which will apparently take another 7-14 days before I get a response from the team. That's rubbish service. If something gets lost, they should be aiming to deliver the product and resolve the issue a great deal faster than that. I'll be posting this as far and wide as I can as there is no formal complaints procedure. I will definitely not be shopping with Currys again.”
“Ordered a keyboard and mouse for instore collection, I drove 20 mins to the store and the online team had sent the wrong mouse. The guy at customer service rang the online team and put me on the phone to them. They told me to take the items home and they will send DPD to pick them up the next day (yes, I was told to send both back even though only the mouse was incorrect), and then they'd send the correct order to the store for me to collect. They refused to send the correct order to my house, so another 40 minute round journey for me because of their screw-up. The items were collected 3 days ago and I've heard nothing, I've been on web chat twice and no one has any idea when I'll hear anything, just that I could 'expect to hear within 7-14 days'. This is atrocious customer service and I will never shop at Currys again. And I will persuade other family and friends to steer clear from now on. What a joke.”
“Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It's not the fault of the people working there, it's the company. Asked to be in between 7am and 7pm for a delivery and get a text at 7pm saying it can't be delivered. Delivery rescheduled for 2 weeks later, had to pay an extra £25 to shorten the window and then couldn't even send me confirmation of the delivery window, which was needed for work purposes. Flabbergasted.”
“I ordered a laptop for my daughter.
They delivered a random printer.
I have lost hours trying via their offshored customer service team who aren’t able to solve anything they are just a service to log problems that don’t then get followed up. I wrote to the CEO and got a similar response from his office that the issue has been logged.
What a shambles, a very basic lack of controls and accuracy in their warehouse. It must be utter chaos if they can’t do the basics of inventory management.
Avoid!”
“I had a terrible experience at PC Currys Wolverhampton. I spent two hours negotiating with a staff member, Aamir, for a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. He kept lowering the upfront cost from £100 to £29, but after I went home to get my ID and bank card, he suddenly said the deal was unavailable. If the deal couldn’t be done, why waste my time? He also gave incorrect information, telling me to try Merry Hill, saying they were open until 9 PM, but they had already closed at 8 PM. This ruined my brother’s birthday plans, as I was buying the phone for him.
I even made a complaint about this awful customer service, but nothing has been done. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be returning.”
“Delivered items to wrong house, back and forth to be told parcel is at neighbours (didn't agree to that) neighbours don't have it but 3/12/24 @ 11.19am I was told I will have a phone call at about 5.30 to discuss redelivery of my parcels, took another day off work to be told it has now been rejected and for compensation I can have £10 to spend in currys which I kindly declined! Fraud”
“Placed two orders and both were cancelled without any explanation.I would avoid buying anything from them for christmas as you never know if you gonna get it or no.Refund is taking forever. Never ever again.Waste of time.”
