“The solicitor who is dealing with my case is a liar and making up excuses to pay out my money for the property,gave me to completion dates and still ain’t completed my sale.Expects me to wait another 2 weeks when nothing is left to do on the case”

“I contacted DC law to ask if they would respond to an email from my solicitors, as they have failed to do so.
The way that I have been spoken to by the case handler was disgusting and then to have the phone hung up on me as I was speaking is bad manners at its worst.
If I had a choice, I would not deal with this company, and keep well away.”
“Really reluctant to give any star , this company are shocking ! My vendors are using this company and have been since sept last year for the sale of their property . My dad is an 80 year old man cash buyer . No mortgage no chain and still this sale has not gone through . My dad signed off his property to his purchaser and now because of the hold up is having to now rent his house back from a very y understanding man who purchased his house , this costing my dad more money !
Some of his possessions are in storage again chargeable as we were continually told different dates. Now this week nearly 9 mths after we started the process we are told they ( laws ) need the sellers identity documents which I believe should have been asked for at the beginning of the transaction !!! As per money laundering regs ! This company is a joke and I will be taking this further and trying to recoup some costs !!

Still waiting 7 months into buying process. They can’t get any documents and ask us to pay for another indemnity every other week! They lost our hard copy of documents that we sent to them tracked!
We have been passed around at least 4 different people at dc law and still have no solution! I would like to ask people on here what have you done and if you think there is something we can all do together to get our money back and red flag this company for good. They should not be trading…….”
“1 star is too good for them. Referred to by estate agent wh brown. All very dodgy as their useless as well.
It took 7 months to complete house sale. Kept asking for same paperwork . Never replied to emails phone calls and kept you in the dark.
Blamed the cyber attack!!! However useless before that.
On day of completing we also exchanged. What a farce. Had a call to say I had to pay an indemnity insurance for something??? Didn't explain what.
Still havnt got final letter of completion receipts 7 weeks later.
Then got a letter from HMRC to say my stamp duty not paid. Total incompetence.
Why are these people allowed to take our money.

“My convenyer is Amy Yates, she is the worse person I've ever met. She didn't open the file of the contract and did all the things late. She asked for the documents again and again which I sent her already,and suddenly closed my file without my permission. She makes me lost a lot of money. We ask ed her to send my file to new solicitor, she didn't want to send and said no have my file. She makes me depressed, crazy and miserable. If you currently use this DC law firm,I suggest you turn to another law firm as soon as possible,they make you can't complete any deal and make you lose a lot of money. “My seller is using this firm. Absolute shambles. Contemptuous of customers. Prospective buyers should refuse to purchase any seller who uses this firm. Seems to be the preferred solicitor for Purplebricks, whose shares have crashed. The seller says she can never speak to the people actually dealing with it, no responses from emails. Asked Purplebricks about switching but they were obstructive. From the reviews here it seems my experience is par for the course. Get a high street solicitor you can walk in and talk to. Looks like my purchase may fall through after 6 months of waiting. I am renting while waiting to buy so losing 000s.”

It’s been over 3 months since I made a formal complaint to this shambolic company. The complaint was made to the ‘director’ Simon (as detailed on their website) To this date I have not received a satisfactory response or the request for information under GDPR. This company are an insult to legitimate conveyancing firms and their empathy is non existent. I am over £1.5k out of pocked due to their utter incompetence but they do not care!! I have lodged a complaint with the legal ombudsman in the hope that an independent firm can see how appalling this company are and how utterly worthless their complaints process is!
Do not believe any of these false 5* reviews. Trust pilot should be ashamed of themselves for allowing these lies.
Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. Pay for a local firm who you can actually contact and who care about you. With DC Law you are just another worthless number!”
“If you are thinking of using this company my advice would be to save yourself an awful lot of heartache & stress and find somewhere else.
I was selling a property. It should have been the easiest sale ever with a first time buyer and no chain either side. Instead it turned into a complete and utter nightmare because of DC Law. Even before the so called 'cyber attack' they were slow and when we asked why they hadn't responded they would make excuses like 'we never received that email' or ‘it’s the other side that is holding it up’ etc. They asked for the same forms 4 times, forms that had been sent weeks earlier!
Then just when we thought we might perhaps be getting somewhere we found out from our Estate Agent that there had been a ‘Cyber attack’. DC Law has never to the day communicated about exactly what happened. But from the day it happened, 7th November, there was absolutely zero communication from them despite completing enquiry forms, emailing and calling.
We were left hanging not knowing what to do or how to move things forward. The estate agent (who recommended DC Law) couldn't even get anything from them.
Eventually after 8 weeks of nothing our Estate Agent managed to get our file moved to another conveyancer. It was 8 weeks of terrible stress and worry because they didn’t care enough about their customers to offer even a basic level of communication.
Do yourself a favour, avoid DC Law at all costs and save yourself a whole lot of stress.”

After the second sale fell of my flat fell through, I left them for a different company (they offer a no sale, no fee clause) if you are getting nowhere with them, double check this! Cut your losses, save your sanity and find someone else! If you have been assigned Barry Foster, I wish you luck! As others have said: they do not answer calls or emails. They lost original documents which have still not been returned. Official complaint sent to the legal ombudsman.

“Absolutely incompetent firm - avoid like the plague ! Was used for a house purchase and an indemnity was needed. They gave me a draft of the proposed indemnity which did not cover what was needed. They then provided a 2nd draft indemnity which did the job. They were asked to put the 2nd indemnity into force but they put the first (totally useless) indemnity in place. We only found out when a claim had to be made on the indemnity. One of their owners doesn't want to have to deal with a claim - shocking ! Being reported to the Law Association.”
“Please folks never ever use this firm, once you are signed up with them and they take a deposit for selling and purchasing it goes down hill from there on.
You can never get them via phone or email you get different people "in charge of your account to make things better" Lies all lies after them dragging their feet for 7 months we eventually got into our next home.
If only they told the truth at the beginning when doubts were setting in we could have cut our losses and just pulled out, £18,000 down because of them and an iffy vendor, he we are, they have even stopped us from having access to "our documentation" too, so now we are here and able to print out all of our documents we can't get to them,
Personally I think their business has been set up as a scam to get monies out of people under false pretenses.”
“OMG Debbie Osmont is the worst lawyer in England she is incompetent beyond belief.
My buyer was put onto them by Howard’s estate agents no doubt they get a cut.
So had a few issues as is the norm but I am selling a lease hold property my landlord is the Great Yarmouth council so first she says she wants amendments to the lease and was told No so my buyer told her she will still buy and not worry about the lease as NEVER been an issue EVER before so this was August and my buyer wrote to confirm this. Next was some white goods we told her we are dealing with personally and don’t want lawyers involved again around August. Next was proof of maintenance fee for year paid so my lawyer sent a letter from council confirming it was all paid in full. All issues sorted so you would think 6 months down the road yes 6 months.
But NO - we are all ready to exchange etc and this fool writes and says the lease problem as above please contact landlord etc then provide proof of maintenance paid as above then confirm all goods are being left as above UNREAL.
My lawyer said she has all questions sorted months ago and after contacting Howard’s and giving them grief they closed ranks and Sophie does not even return calls.
This company DC LAW is a joke and the staff are useless they have no idea they are clowns and I am ready to take this matter further.
PLEASE DONT USE THEM FOR GOD SAKE.
On this day now I am still no further forward she has had letter off buyer she has had letter off landlord the council she has been told private sale of white goods and still a total idiot.”
