“The supplier is Shire Sheds and they have been poor. Delivery was on time but I’ve been trying to get a replacement door which was damaged for the last 6 weeks without success”
“The shed was OK and the instructions clear, but the quality of some of the panels not so good with various splits. Biggest problem was the delivery which arrived at 7am in the morning having only sent an email to let me know it was arriving 2 1/2 hours earlier at 4:30am that morning!”
“I bought a 6' x 6' potting shed with double doors from Elbec and the delivery was exactly as arranged. The driver who arrived didn't speak a lot of English but pointed out a broken panel where he had over tightened the straps. I refused the delivery and it was redelivered a week later in perfect condition. When I put the shed together it was sturdy and easy to put together. I was disappointed that the hinges were corroded in the bag. Again I called them and replacements arrived 3 days later so good customer care. The slide bolts on the door that are provided are of the wrong type in that they are straight locks and should be cranked to allow the locking part to have a clear hole to engage in rather than being close to the edge. I decided to buy some new ones on eBay and all is well. Overall a good shed with a few niggles that could so easily be addressed.”
“Ordered a Tuscany shed and arbour which was delivered on the 14th may put the arbour up which looks superb but when I started erecting my shed there was a part broken that screwed into the base I have been trying now to contact them for 10 days for a replacement but getting nowhere I’ve sent the image but they never get back to me so the shed is still not started I’m at my wits end what to do I feel like driving to kings lynn about 100 mile away to try and get it, so frustrating and such a shame”
“The website is easy to navigate and generally quite clear. The photo-shopped images of each product on a generic garden background are a little off-putting and not entirely useful, but it's not a big deal. The shed I chose was a great price and arrived on the day it was supposed to with a helpful delivery driver. The shed itself is good quality even if the photocopied instructions which I received were a little mixed up and therefore hard to follow. Why wasn't there a proper instruction manual? My issue with the shed is that it's taking water up from the bottom, even though it's on a solid base, so several of the joints in the corners are constantly damp. The shed roof and windows are waterproof, so it's not really a big deal. The reason I am a bit annoyed is that I contacted Elbec directly twice via their website and once on the phone and every time they ignored me completely. No acknowledgement, no call back, no explanation. Maybe the shed is fine, who knows, but they don't get in touch so if I had a bigger issue I wouldn't expect any help from them. Therefore, I would think twice about ordering from them again.”
“the 2 top triangles glass parts did not fit very well but otherwise ok and the delivery service was good but they could not help when I rang and told them of the tight fit of the 2 parts so I sorted out myself but had to leave a slight gap at the top of apex”
“Bought a 6ft X 5ft) Palram Skylight Plastic Apex Shed in grey. It was delivered on time and took about 4 hours to erect with two people. The instructions were very helpful and could easily be understood. The shed is very flimsy and must be secured by bolts to the floor. You should not lay anything against the sides as they will buckle outwards; if items stood upright then ok. It would have been better for the air-vents top at front and rear to have been adjustable to stop rain entering.”
“Some of the shed pieces did not fit properly and so had to be handsawn. Also the instructions were diabolical. Explaining which way round doors should go would have been far more helpful. Pre-assembly instructions should have been labelled Step 1. Door lock was faulty”
“Purchased a pent roof potting shed, Very happy with it in terms of Delivery, Quality and missing roof felt was delivered withing 2 days (very good). On the downside (hence my rating) the door to the potting shed means you have to duck to get in and the roof is very low, I have fixed that myself by adding some extra rafters to raise it a couple inches but I am under 6ft so would imagine a number of people would find the roof very low. I have not complained as I am sure the measurements on the site had I looked at them would have told me this. Final complaint one side panel was slightly taller than the other one which worried me but the design allows for this so not a big issue. Last positive comment I was able to assemble this shed all by myself with no assistance.”
“Although the product was as expected and we have no issue with the shed, the delivery was altogether another matter. We agreed a date, I tracked the delivery and then it disappeared from the tracker and said they were unable to deliver as they couldn’t find us, rubbish as they had two contact numbers they could have called, no other delivery has had a problem finding us and we have had many, we then had to wait well over a week for another delivery, not happy, and asked that they call 30 minutes before so I could make sure we were home, No call came and it was only that I watched the tracker that I was able to see they were 2 miles from our house. I rushed home just in time. Shed great Delivery, 0 out of 10. Would consider buying from someone else because of the issues.”
“Smooth ordering and delivery which was timely and well communicated. We paid for a 7x7 Dutch barn shed and also paid for it to be treated in preservative at a total cost of more than £1200, good value but certainly still a lot of money to us. The shed arrived and the first thing we noticed was that the preservative was still tacky as we unloaded the shed sections. The driver said that this was because it was still being painted as it was being loaded for delivery. Some pieces were well stuck together and pulled the preservative off of some of the pieces when we pulled them apart. I had to purchase more preservative at additional cost to rectify. During assembly we had a big issue with the corner sections not pulling together as they were very bowed even though we assembled the shed within 24 hours of delivery. We ended up bolting the sections together as their was no way the supplied screws were ever going to achieve this. We had two roof bearers missing (one was broken through a knot in the wood but had still been painted in preservative and sent even though it was in two pieces??) I had to go to my local timber yard and get replacements at my own cost. The roofing felt was like paper and tore when you moved it, I ended up replacing this along with the supplied glass which was again very thin and brittle. (I didn’t feel happy leaving in the supplied glass as the kids go into the shed and I was concerned about safety) All in all, not a great product or assembly experience, in my opinion the quality is best described as cheap. A shame because with better quality materials and a few more quid on the asking price it could have been so much better. I did not feedback to elbec at the time and have only been prompted to leave this review after receiving a follow up email from elbec asking me to leave feedback some 3 months after delivery. I did not contact elbec as be honest I didn’t want to have to wait for redelivery of faulty parts mid build and to be honest if a company is happy to send out such a poor quality product, I don’t really want anything further to do with them as they will not be getting any further business from me.”
“The delivery time of the plastic shed was acceptable considering the issues caused by Corona virus. Husband managed to erect the shed on his own with just a bit of help from myself holding panels together while he screwed. The shed is a bit flimsy but adequate for our needs and looks good from the outside. I would have scored an extra star but there are some screws missing and we are concerned that should we get windy weather the shed could blow down and possibly blow away. I have emailed elbec several times and phoned them but no sign of the screws. I was told they were despatched 6 days ago. I appreciate corona virus is causing issues but I am only waiting for 10 screws that could be sent in normal post”
