I just tried having three cases of good wine delivered with them. A couple of weeks after no sign of the delivery and no communication I contacted the seller. The seller investigated and they say the delivery company (later found out to be Yodel) told them they "lost" the items in delivery, and the driver just marked it as delivered. I'm not sure if that's two counts of gross incompetence in one delivery, theft, fraud or both theft and fraud, but its one of them.

I have recently ordered a spare part from one of the leading vacuum companies and paid extra to have express delivery. So, the part was sent via Yodel. The parcel was due to be delivered sometime on Saturday and required a signature from the householder; I waited in for the delivery and at around 14:10, I was surprised initially to see an A4 sized grey plastic bag on the porch floor after hearing the letterbox ‘bang’ close. I went to the porch and picked up the bag and noticed straight away the bag had been cut and felt empty, on further investigation the bag was empty. Considering that I was under the impression that this parcel required a signature I was surprised that the delivery driver did not ring the bell or knock on the door to hand me the package and gain my signature. Realising the packaging was empty, I immediately rang Yodel customer services to report what had happened. I also mentioned that I was under the impression that my signature was required, the Yodel operator then told me a signature had been gained at delivery, which is not the case. They then went on to say an internal investigation would be conducted and they would get back to me either later on Saturday or the next day, this did not happen. I spent an hour on the phone trying to sort this issue out. To compound the problem, I did not realise that Yodel customer services number is a premium rate number, once I realised this I contacted my phone provider, only to be horrified to learn I had in fact been charged £41.00 for the privilege of eventually been able to speak to a Yodel representative. Not only did I receive an empty bag, which I paid £18.00 for (including express delivery) I’ve been charged £41.00 to report the issue, and from what I currently understand someone else has signed for my delivery! Come on Yodel; you need to get your act together, by keeping promises with getting back to your customers when you say and refund the cost of my exorbitant priced phone call. You would have thought anyone handling this package would have instantly realised that it was opened and felt empty!

I was expecting a parcel on Friday 7 December but driver said he couldn’t find house. So gave them directions and was told it would come Saturday 8. But nothing turned up. So contacted them again and was promised delivery Monday 10. But nothing was out for delivery again. Have tried to contact yodel by web chat by phone by Twitter and no one has got back to me. The worse over night delivery company you could ever wish to deliver your parcel. I still have not had parcel yet 4days late and counting

I was due to receive a parcel on Friday 7th December. I had a tracking email from Yodel and followed the progress all day. Then at 5.24pm I get a message saying my parcel had been delivered. No it hadn't I was still sitting here waiting. After finally getting an answer on webchat I was told the driver would be interviewed and they would get back to me in 12 hours. The driver apparently said he had delivered to a turquoise front door (which ours is) but that a 10-15 year old dark haired boy signed for it. There were 4 people in the house at the time of the supposed delivery but none was a boy. I find it odd that the driver who had over 120 parcels on his van that day and mine was almost the 100th on his round would remember so well the boy who supposedly signed for the parcel. I wonder if her remembers all the people he delivers to? I've just had another email from Yodel customer service telling me that the address on the parcel isn't even my address and that is why I haven't got my parcel, so how come the driver allegedly delivered a parcel to me that now they are saying isn't even addressed to me. All a load of lies. Dishonest company.

REALLY BAD I recommend sellers who ship using this company should warn their customers up front and give them a chance to pull out. 1st parcel the delivery guy didn't even ring the doorbell. 2nd parcel they lost one in transit, then when the sender sent another one on a 24 hours service, 5 days later it's still not delivered. They tell me their delivery date estimation has not changed - i.e. it's still estimated to be 2 days ago and can't give me anything more concrete.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! My parcel was delivered a day late! The driver also never bothered to knock my door!! He left my parcel on my doorstep in my front garden which could have been stolen!! Absolutely disgusting service!! Their customer service team also sucks!! They just pass the buck onto the company you ordered from!!

Avoid using. Only give an all day- until 9pm time slot. No one answers the phone for customer service and can't get online chat to work. Had to take the day off work to wait in as the nearest collection point is 20 miles away....very poor

After many issues a few years ago I have had 2 deliveries in the last month. On the stated delivery day they say when the parcel is en route and give a 2 hour delivery time slot and display the location of the van on Google maps. Wonderful!

Yodel claim to have delivered my package while I was out. They left one of their cards through my letterbox. When I tried to contact them by phone, I got an automated message saying that the parcel had been left in the front porch. This is a block of flats with a common stairwell. There is no front porch here! And there's no sign of my parcel! I then held on the line for over 20 minutes trying to speak to some human to get further information, without even getting my call answered. It's clear that Yodel just dump things anywhere and tough luck if someone then takes them / throws them away to keep the place tidy. If you try to follow anything up they have so few staff (or so many complaints) that you cannot speak to anyone even after a long wait. No one should use Yodel as a method of safe delivery!

Warning: Ecommerce in the UK is broken. Cause = Couriers. Before ordering anything online, firstly check with the retailer to establish their courier of choice. If they stink, find a different seller and save the stress. You have the power to affect change, even if the sellers won't. Yodel have let me down so many times this past 2 months with deliveries using a myriad of dirty tactics from faking delivery to making me drive 15 miles to the depot without ever attempting delivery. I even ended up being questioned by the 5-0 after "attempting" to raise a complaint at the depot. I got laughed at and then was accused of assault. But of course, I was free to go without charge once they checked the CCTV. On eBay if they list their courier as "Other Courier" which often means Yodel, I've started to message the seller for clarity. It works! Ask this and keep it simple "just out of interest, who is your courier?". All the best.

Not the first time I'm let down by this company so though it's time to give a review. Whenever I buy something and the shipping method is Yodel I get a bit worried as I don't remember a single time my package would arrive the day it was "estimated to arrive". I've spent the better half of today waiting for the package that was supposed to arrive "today" and yet it's already 10PM and the parcel still isn't here. Now the parcel will of course arrive tomorrow when I am not home as I've particularly moved a lot of the work I had for today to tomorrow so I could pick up the damn parcel.

Disgusting service. Lost parcel, no way of contacting a human. Webchat takes (literally) hours, then you get cut off before being given any useful information, with no redress at all. Absolute scammers.
