“This company deserves a negative rating for just how completely terrible they are. I am genuinely shocked that a company can be so completely and utterly incompetent at their main service and still be in business.
I ordered an item through eBay, the seller left it with Yodel in good time on the 10th. The item was moved to a distribution centre on the 11th. This absolute joke of an excuse for a delivery company then spent more than a week not delivering it (I'm writing this review on the 19th and still haven't received my item), just holding it at their local distribution centre and apparently, according to their tracker, putting it in a van every day but making no attempt to actually deliver it.
Part way through this godawful experience with a company that needs to look up the defintion of what a delivery is I messaged them to see what the problem was, they told me (and this is 6 days after they first had the item at their local delivery centre) that apparently the item had been put on the wrong van that was on a different delivery route. Was this being done every day? Was this done on the first day the item was in a place to be delivered? HOW DOES IT TAKE 6 DAYS FOR YOU TO JUST REALISE YOU'VE PUT AN ITEM ON THE WRONG VAN? How is this company even functioning? How are is Yodel so completely incompetent at their main function?
The worst part of this whole experience? Yodel actually lied on their tracker and said they had attempted to make the delivery once part way through the week, yet (given I was at home) this was a complete fabrication. So not only are Yodel incompetent, they're flat out liars.
I am still waiting for my delivery. Yodel should be utterly ashamed of just how completely and utterly useless they are, you should honestly just pack up the company and stop. You are a net-negative on this planet.”
“Meant to be delivered to In-Post locker on the 10th September. It is now the 18th Sep. I have called every day that they’ve been open and get told they will “find out” or that my parcel “will be delivered today” and it never is. The issue is that the In-Post locker is full. But why would they offer delivery to the locker then? So I have to wait for other people to collect their parcels for 8 days????? People should be given 24 hours to collect their parcels before they are sent back. I can’t redirect to my address as I can’t choose a time-slot and I work and live in a flat with nowhere for them to put my parcel. So I ordered to the locker for easy pick up but it’s turning into a nightmare! I’ve never had any delivery company hold my parcel hostage for so long. Please shorten the amount of time people get to pick up their parcels so there is good availability. No one should be leaving their parcel in a locker for 3 days +. Selfish. And Yodel need to ensure there is actually space in a locker before “attempting” delivery. Smh.”
“Said they had tried delivering my package even though we waited in to get the delivery and there was someone here when they claimed to have tried delivering it. We then rerouted it to a locker to see if that would work better. It’s now been sitting in their warehouse. Their customer service relies on some of the dumbest chat bots and AIs on the planet and when you manage to get through to a human you find there is nothing they can do. Whey do people use this company”

“I was told the driver couldn't deliver my parcel as my chosen store was closed. The stores opening hours are 06.00 to 22.00 so I don't see how.
Tried to contact Yodel by phone but just got automated response. Tried the chat line who said they would escalate it but I had to contact the sender? Sent an email to the head office in Liverpool. They replied with apologies and said I'd get an update within 24hours... Now nearly a week later... nothing. If you're a company using Yodel be aware they are useless and will end up costing you money.”
“A Yodel driver had a shocking attitude and acted aggressively when delivering a parcel – as I opened the door he was walking away (despite me answering it quickly) and when he saw me he then walked straight towards me holding the parcel. I indicated for him to place it on the ground away from me (this was during Covid and I was caring for someone clinically extremely vulnerable) and he then exclaimed ‘urgh!’ and literally threw the parcel to the ground in front of me. A very unpleasant and unnecessary way to behave at any time.”
“Absolutely dreadful service. Avoid at all costs. Was given a two hour delivery slot for Monday.No show. After jumping through hoops of fire to get through to someone to speak to the next day, the bloke pathetically said it would be delivered that day as it was a different driver!? I was emailed another 2 hour slot and got excited during that time frame as the tracker showed the driver a few miles away with only 6 drops in front of me. My parcel didn't show up. I eventually got through to speak to a human being the next morning after about an hour of trying. The woman I spoke to said the driver couldn't locate my property. What a big fat lie. No more updates from Yodel. I managed to get through to Argos to get a refund for the laptop ( wherever that might be). I have to say though getting through to speak to someone was humongous lying difficult!!! I'm now off to a shop to buy a laptop. No more experience online deliveries for me in case it's Yodel doing them!!!”

“Appalling. They don't deserve to be in business. There live chat is completely useless, it seems they have no more knowledge of what's going on than their useless web page that just states "there has been a short delay". I am on the 3rd day of waiting now and no one has been able to tell me anything. Please wait until 9pm they say. On the 3rd day after my delivery was due!!! An absolutely horrific customer experience. Large companies should be ashamed of themselves for using them as a service. I look forward to the day their incompetence finally catches up with them.”

Yet again, Yodel have proved they they are completely unreliable.
I received a notification yesterday saying that my parcel would be delivered today (16th). I checked again on the tracking and it said "arriving today". No time slot was given.
Due to the delivery drivers completely ignoring my instructions to leave in a safe place, and instead, leaving my parcels on the front doorstep in full view of the street on four seperate occasions, I was very reluctant to go out today but I had to. I had to check my phone every 10 minutes to check the tracking and make sure my parcel wasn't sat on my doorstep. I was out from 12pm - 6pm. It's now 10.30pm and my parcel hasn't been delivered. So, tomorrow, I'll have to check my phone every 10 minutes again. Even though I will be at home, they never knock on my door. They just leave the parcel on the doorstep. I only know it's there because I check the tracking.
I have complained 4 times now on live chat and just get an apology and get told they can assure it won't happen again but it does, always.
Someone from Yodel replied to my last post on here saying the same things but nothing changes.
Unfortunately, some items I order don't say which delivery company they use. If I knew they use Yodel, I wouldn't order. If anyone from Yodel reads this review, I suggest they look into to the delivery driver for my area. Maybe teach him how to read instructions. How he thinks it's ok to leave parcels on a doorstep, a few steps away from the street for any passerby to take really puzzles me.
I'd best put my phone on charge now ready for the every 10 minute check on the tracking tomorrow (if it turns up atall) so I can run out and grab my parcel before someone else does!!”
