I notice many other bad reviews - Yodel appear to be incompetent useless time wasters, appointed by governmental agencies & Imperial College, none of whom are not fussy about spending public funds on bad service.”
“yodel is a worst company to work with ever. horrible company, bad drivers and and customer service. overall this company is full of lies. they wasted 2 days of my time to deliver a parcel and still no delivery yet. first day they say will deliver by 7 p.m, then they say there is a delay and will deliver tomorrow. next day they update that they cannot access the building at 8 p.m, checked cctv driver never attempted delivery. wasted my weekend. worst courier company ever”

“Terrible service waited in for three days as the tracker said out for delivery on all three days. Tried to establish where my parcel was using web chat, that was not very good as didn’t actually answer the questions I was asking.
Eventually ended up chasing after a van after tracking said unable to deliver. I could see they were 1/4 mile down the road. When I spoke to the driver he was very rude, blamed his colleague then started to swear about her. He then said he couldn’t give any parcel to me without ID, even though I could show him my tracking of the parcel on my phone! I had to return home while he got his colleague to deliver to my door.”
“Hello I have three deliveries from Yodel and they have thrown each of the packages over a ten for gate. One of them was marked fragile. They are totally useless and lazy.”
“I received notification earlier today that the parcel I was expecting would be delivered between 12.13 and 14.13. At 13.35 today, I received an email today to say that they had attempted my delivery but nobody was in. Both myself and my partner were here all day. There was a telephone number for the driver, so I called it. The driver was VERY rude, unhelpful and unprofessional and refused to come back with it, despite him still being in the area.
He claimed that our intercom was not working and that's why he was unable to deliver it. He said, and I quote, "If you want it today, come to my house and collect it."
Our intercom IS working, and I took video of me operating the intercom both at the gate and at the front door. My partner answered both times, so it would appear that he couldn't be bothered to deliver to us because we live in a block of flats.
His attitude on the phone was surly, rude, unprofessional and very unreasonable. When I asked for his name to pass on to Yodel because of his conduct, he hung up on me.
Speaking to someone at Yodel is impossible. They give a phone number but it is ALL automated. There is no opportunity to speak to a customer service agent over the phone, so I had to go on webchat. I explained the situation and gave them the YouTube link to the video I had taken of the intercom working. They said they would escalate it and ensure I received my package today. However, i went on the internet and found the number for the Stoke dept and spoke to a woman there. The woman I spoke to at Stoke was at first helpful and did all she could to help me, she called the driver to ask him to drop it off on the way home (he lives in the same town as me) and the driver, naturally, refused. She then came back and told me they would attempt delivery again tomorrow.
She also accused me of being a liar about the intercom. This is NOT how you should speak to your customers!
When I asked her what would happen if this situation happens again tomorrow, she, too, hung up on me.
The lack of customer service from the driver, and the attitude they have as a company for hanging up on people, is disgusting. I would urge any small business or individual to stay well clear of Yodel. Their drivers are rude and unprofessional, as, it would seem, are the people who work at their depots. There are plenty of independent couriers out there who would value your business and treat customers well. Yodel isn't one of these companies.
I just hope this driver can be bothered to deliver my parcel tomorrow, as I told them I desperately needed it. If necessary, I will wait outside for the two hour time window they have given me to ensure I get it. But if this was a company that cared about their customers, and employed people equally as passionate about customer service, then this would not be necessary. As it is, if you're using Yodel as your courier, you are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

“Absolutely disgraceful delivery company. Yesterday we were waiting for an item to be delivered which we bought from Waitrose online and were told that it would been delivered by 21.00 / 9 pm, so, we made sure we were here from 20. 00, only to receive a note on the website timed at 20:58, saying that they "couldn't deliver the parcel because they couldn't gain access to the property". At that time the van was back at the depot per the website's map. The reason they "couldn't gain access to the property" was because the van was +/- 30 miles away
In the past at times they were very late to deliver but never yet failed to deliver! We wondered, so took a look at the reviews only to find that many other people had been given the same "excuse" as regards access to the property, etc.
The website mentions inter alia in its promises to the customer "transparency" as a reason to use Yodel. Sadly, this was absent in this case.”
“I’ve been tracking my parcel the whole day and didn’t left home, on the tracking it says they’ll deliver it until 9pm, then as I was checked it again they said they couldn’t access my property, just a bunch of liars!”
“Yodel said EIGHT times that they have tried to collect a parcel and left a note, I was in each time, they were not even near where I live according to the live track and I never had a single card to say they had attempted to collect. Have had 5 web chats with them, I still have the parcel to be collected a month later!!! I'm absolutely disgusted with this firm and hope I never have any dealings with them in the future.”
“Absolutely terrible service. Always use royal mail as if you have missed your parcel you can simply rebook a time slot, as with yodel they take it back to the 'area deport' for collection which for me is 33 miles away and I don't drive. Also what I ordered is large as so impossible to collect via train. The customer service left me saying HELLOOOOO about 10 times while I heard them all chatting in the background, then all the server did was repeat the same sentence 10 times which I had already read on the left card. They have back customer service and are ABLIST.”
