I was looking for a style that could go from hiking to city walking and this one fit the bill. The brogue detailing on the side and high ankle fit combined both style and protected my ankles when I bought these for travel. I can't imagine how much more my feet would have hurt if my 20,000+ step days were spent wearing one of my other non-Blundstone boots; the shock protection kept my feet feeling normal even though I was stomping across town. They were tough to break in but wearing them at least 4 times around the house and for several hours in a day did the trick.
