I normally never write reviews, but felt strongly about posting one here. So, I am in no way crafty... at all! I had planned to use an interior designer to make me a lampshade in a specific fabric I had chosen but, after a number of re-quotes, I felt she was out to fleece me. I decided to buy this lampshade kit and source the fabric myself, assuming I'd make a mess of it, but was happy to give it a bash for the potential cost saving. Fabric and shade kit arrived, and I consulted the Dannell's website, where I found loads of guidance on using the kit and a number of links to their step-by-step walk-through videos on YouTube. I watched the support videos a number of times and got to work on my own shade, watching a guidance video and pausing it as I went. The videos were amazingly helpful; they detailed the whole process very methodically and offered a number of hints and tips at every stage of the assembly. The kit behaved exactly as it was meant to, and I ended up with (even if I do say so myself) an INCREDIBLY PROFESSIONAL looking lampshade! I couldn't believe it! I took my time, was careful and really enjoyed my afternoon crafting. I was dead chuffed to have created something myself that has such a professional finish. I didn’t imagine for a minute that the end result would be this good! In fact, thanks to Dannells (and some patience and attention to detail on my part) the finish on this shade is much better than any I have bought. If you have any reservations about this kit, DON’T. I was so unbelievably impressed and I’m sure you will be, too! Thank you, Dannells!
