The setting of this hotel is incredible, as we drove up through the New Forest, we were greeted by wild horses grazing on the green opposite the hotel. You could not fault the staff & service, we were very well looked after, and our dog was spoilt too. We stayed in the Hayloft suites, barn conversions which were huge -very private and separate from the hotel's hustle and bustle through the hotel's beautifully kept grounds. Our dog Stevie, can sometimes get a bit barky, so this was perfect. We were on the dinner bed and breakfast package which was great. We had dinner in Montys one night (and our dog could come too)- which was pub grub/casual and the hotel's fine dining restaurant the next night. We could have brought the dog and sat in the conservatory but opted to leave him in the room to have a grown-up experience. The food was incredible and the £50 allowance per person on the package was more than enough for a decent meal. The Spa was lush - although a few mins drive away, we felt welcomed and had no trouble using the facilities. The breakfast -again was great, we sat in the conservatory overlooking the grounds with the dog, which, whilst separate from the main dining area didn't feel segregated (or like the naughty corner) there was a great selection, great service and even a sausage cooked for the dog. There is also a fantastic walk recommended by the staff - as you step outside the hotel, 4 miles through woodland and riverside down to Bucklars hard - a beautiful spot with a lovely pub overlooking the harbour and Yachts, and calm water for the dog to splash around in. We will certainly be going back :)
