I would have given it 0 star if there was an option.
In 2020 I booked some flights through Expedia to Lebanon to spend Christmas with my family. Obviously with the pandemic, I decided not to go, and contacted Expedia to move my flight. I was given a credit note to use later. Then in 2021, I called Expedia to use that credit note to book flights for this Christmas. I was also charged extra for the change in price. They said everything was handled, that I should not worry.
Then in September I was checking my itinerary, and realised that I could not find the actual confirmation. I called Expedia and they told me that the airline cancelled my ticket. Nobody told me about this when it happened; if I had not called to check I would never have known. I called the airline (MEA) and they confirmed that it was actually Expedia who cancelled my ticket.
So I called Expedia again, explaining that this was their fault. After just over 3 hours on the phone (after several call attempts being dropped by them, and during which they tried several times to explain I would not get a refund), they finally booked me my flights and again I had to pay the difference. They did refund me the extra I had paid earlier.
Again they told me that everything was fine, and this time I got a confirmation email from Expedia.
Now in December I am going over my itinerary and I can see that, once again, I have no flights booked. When I called the airline, they informed me that Expedia started to book flights, but did not complete the booking. Once again, Expedia did not tell me about this at the time; once again if I had not called I never would have known.
I am really at my wits end with these people. I have not seen my family in 2 years and I am stunned by this incompetence and lack of customer care.
I am now dreading having to spend another day on the phone with them, knowing that they will not refund but will try and push a credit note on me again (if that!). I never want to deal with this company again.
They sent an email to airline a month ago to get my refund and haven't received any reply. When I called to ask about it, they said I should just wait. How long? They are just trying to avoid paying me back.
IT IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. THEY JUST STEAL EVERYONE's MONEY. I WILL NEVER USE EXPEDIA AGAIN. STAY AWAY!
