There seems to be a county wide shortage of pine architrave or at least in County Durham. Pine is perhaps cheaper but often quite wonky and often has a load of knots that need treating before painting. I was a bit sceptical about ordering MDF architrave online as it is horribly susceptible to water damage and not immune to bending especially when stored on the flat edge.
I can't fault the architrave delivered, it was perfectley dry, straight, no dents and the delivery was by skirting world and not another company.
