Brett Mortensen
number to cover the $7000 plus fee. I was contacted repeatedly by the broker stating the charge had been declined. Finally, I provided another credit card number and I was informed all was OK. I had a dental issue here in Panama which, based on the dentist here in Panama, required a tooth extraction. I submitted the receipt from the procedure as well as the claim form required by Regency. The reimbursement did not occur because Regency failed to use the account number I had submitted. My bank in Canada required me to contact Regency and request they use the same information I had already provided to Regency. Regency complied, and I was finally reimbursed the $80 USD. I approached a doctor here in Panama afterwards, I had pain in my groin. I have no family doctor here. The Dr examined me and determined I had a hernia, a large hernia he stated. I asked the same doctor about my inexplicable weight loss I had recently suffered (240 lbs to 170 lbs in 3 months), my mother died this year of cancer. I asked if there was a blood test that could confirm whether I had cancer or not. I was told that blood work would be inconclusive but rather an endoscopy and colonoscopy would be more conclusive. I submitted to all the procedures based on the Dr recommendations. When all the procedures were completed, I submitted the same receipts and claim forms as I had done for my dental procedure. I immediately got push back. There was more information suddenly required. I submitted more and more documentation. Not enough so Regency contacted my doctor, he did not repy to their emails. I was told the claim could not proceed. In Panama, at that time there were political demonstrations. I was told to garner the information myself so I attempted to get whatever was requested. I spent hours in traffic blockades in order to accommodate Regency to no avail. At no point, even to date, have I ever been informed of what the root cause of Regency's concerns are, what is it exactly that you are looking for or what the actual concern might be? Did I not have a hernia? Did I not undergo surgery? Did I not have a colonoscopy or endoscopy??? I have given up, I am running around Panama investigating, on your behalf, claims I submitted to Regency exactly like the dental claim I have already submitted.I am a customer, your business is medical insurance. I have been asked repeatedly how Regency can make this matter better. Wow. Simple, provide the service I have paid for. I tried to cancel my policy in an attempt to recover my losses. Not possible because I have exhausted the "cooling off period", wow. I was contacted by Maria Cassidy from Regency, she requested my phone number to have a telephone conversation to discuss said issues. I provided the information requested yet she did not call me. 2 days later I contacted her again saying she had misled me and that I did not want to hear from her moving forward. No reply. Next day, Maria says she will call me at 8 PM Panamanian time, not business hours for anyone. I again asked her not to contact me again. I remind the reader that I am a customer, a client of this business. This is not acceptable on any level. " Richard James, my broker, states he needs to understand "how he can help". Maria Cssidy from Regency insurance stated "reslove any outstanding issues".I am at at a loss, you provide a product, one product, insurance. How can you help me? Honour your one product, period. I purchased the most comprehensive package available to avoid this very situation. Now, I am afraid to ever walk into a hospital or medical clinic again anywhere in the world..
