Fraud, fraud, fraud!!! Please spare the expense of purchasing a last minute flight as Smart Fares shows a pattern of taking people’s money for flights that are later unavailable, only to attempt to have us purchase a last minute ticket at a much elevated rate. My initial ticket was 61.00. The night before my flight, I attempted to check in to find out that my flight was “cancelled”. I was offered a credit of 21.70 and suggested that I purchase, through Smart Fares, a ticket for $366.00 via American Airlines. I refused! I purchased the same ticket from Expedia for 201.00. I will be contacting the Better Business Burea and FBI’s fraud line tomorrow to report Smart Fares aka LBF Travel and CEO Michael Thomas for fraudulence. This 302 Billion Dollar company is getting rich by scamming the public. Save yourself the last minute headache!! Many of the complaints were associated with Spirit Airlines.
