Ordered new lenses and frames. Eye test and fitting were done professionally if not a little sketchy on detail. On collecting the specs I found a manufacturing fault in one of the lenses. Dealing with one of the assistants I was told the person who measured me for the specs was not available that day and they were the only ones who could deal with it.
I mentioned that it was a faulty lens not anything to do with the fitting however I had to make an appointment which due to my availability was a week away. 'I felt that I was not believed that the lens was faulty and that the frames just required adjustment and of course one has to get used to new specs, I have been wearing specs since I was five years old and I am now 69! On visiting at this appointment I did not see the person who fitted me but rather the store manager/owner. He could see the fault in the lens and agreed with me that a new lens was required. I complained about the previous customer service but he was sympathetic. I was given the option of a new lens or a refund. After some consideration of the wait I had had already I opted for a new lens rather that go through the whole process of tests and choosing again with another store. I have just been informed that my new lens is ready but that it has a chip in it so another lens (third one) has been ordered. This is not the first time I have had problems with SpecSavers quality control but it will certainly be the last time I use them.
