We had a good half a dozen quotes from various companies ranging from local to national companies. I was expecting a fairly consistent level of estimates and plans for where to place the panels. How wrong I was. Everyone had a "unique" selling point from the strength of the panels, ("you can park a car on our panels" said one salesman), to paying for the installation over 15 years with an interest rate that took the cost to nearly 32K! It was all getting a bit much, to say the least. We began the whole thing by getting a quote from TCL Solar but as we already had all the other companies booked in thought we'd let them all give us estimates and go from there. That turned out to be a complete waste of time in retrospect. TCL Solar gave the best quote that came in slightly under the budget we had and had the best equipment and battery capacity of all the quotations. Not only that but they managed to schedule the installation within 3 weeks of the order, which was great considering that pretty much all the other companies were estimating up to 6 months for delivery and installation! Simon, who came around to do the estimate, was really good. No hard sell, no silly "unique selling points", just a sensible, straightforward estimate for the panels and battery and an estimate on how much a year the plant would generate.....nice and simple. The delivery and installation were just as painless.....the panels, inverter, battery and fittings were delivered on time, and the installers turned up bright and early on the appointed day. They were fast and efficient and distributed the panels over the roof space to optimise for the most sunlight throughout the day. There was no mess afterwards. Likewise the electrician whole installed the inverter and battery and commissioned the whole system. It's all been running for a good 6 weeks now, with no issues, and good output from the system. My wifes mother was interested so TCL Solar did a quote which she went ahead with. I would wholeheartedly recommend TCL Solar, they provide good service, and quality components at an unbelievable price point compared to many of the other solar companies around. If you are looking to have solar installed, for sure get some other companies in to quote, but if you want to save yourself a whole bunch of time and money just contact SImon at TCL Solar.....you really wont be disappointed.
