I ordered us food through Uber eats on mothers day. It was very expensive so I checked the restaurants actual page and it was about $30 cheaper. I went to Uber to see if you could still cancel. I had just placed the order so I thought I would check. It allowed me to cancel. I assumed that it was okay if they allowed me to cancel my order. I never saw anything saying I would be charged or I would have never done it!! The next day I noticed that the charge was still on my bank account but it was pending. I figured oh okay it will drop off before posting. Yesterday when I looked at my bank account it had posted. I went immediately to Uber eats website and tried to see what was going on. I clicked on some help stuff and it basically said it had been more than 2 days so they can't do anything. I contacted them through a chat message and they told me the same thing. I let them know why I waited for two days because I didn't know I was being charged and by the time I noticed it posted it was past the two days. They continued to say well we can't fo anything because of the 48hour rule. Then disconnected himself from the chat. I spoke with 4 more people that all did the same thing. I asked them all to let me talk with someone higher up or give me a phone number and they all just kept saying we can't help you. Go to the help section in our app. I have never dealt with a company that just truly could care less. No one was willing to help me and they basically just kept my $100 because I didn't contact them sooner. I will never order from Uber eats again.
