They sell faulty products, they knowingly break consumer rights laws, and they have stolen my money. Avoid at all costs! Ordered a hoverboard and cart in October 2022 as a Christmas present for my 8 year old daughter. Purchased as the website boasts that the speed can be adjusted. Part of the order arrived in mid-November and the rest arrived in December, just in time for Christmas. Christmas day came and we discovered the speed CAN NOT be adjusted, and it operates at maximum speed all the time. Of course, this led to several crashes and a very frightened and disappointed little girl. Contacted this company via email on December 26th to express my concerns, exercise my consumer right to reject the goods within 30 of having took ownership of them and get a refund. Despite my request, this company demanded images and videos and delayed the refund process. Finally, they arranged to collect the items in March 2023. After they received the hoverboard and cart again, I had to wait a couple of weeks for this company to "log the return into the correct system" and then more time for them to "assess the item". I waited patiently and later received an email to state that I wasn't entitled to a refund because the product had been used and was not in new condition. What did they expect, I mean, they were told in my initial email that the product was not functioning in the described way and it had led to several crashes. I've discussed this matter with my solicitor and the Trading Standards Agency. I've been informed that UK Segboards' T&Cs do not take precedence over the Consumer Protection Act and they have a legal duty to abide by the law. I have reached out to this company 51 times by phone and emailed many, many times, trying to get this matter resolved amicably. I have now served the director of this company with a final written notice that the next step is court action. Should I not receive a refund in the next few days, I will be opening a court claim against him. By the way, the contact details listed on their website are incorrect, they have seemingly moved and no longer conduct business there. It seems to me, having read through the many reviews on here and elsewhere that this company sells a substantial amount of faulty goods and will do everything they can not to refund customers. As things stand, they have the returned goods in their possession and they still have my money so they have essentially stolen from me. They have violated my consumer rights and stolen my money but rest assured, the company director cannot run forever. By hook or by crook, he will return my money and should the matter proceed to court in the coming weeks, I'll be claiming a large amount of additional money for calls, emails, postage and printing of necessary letters/documents, stress, and I'll be charging an hourly rate for all the time spent having to go through this process for the past 4 months. They may be reluctant to abide by the Consumer Protection Act but they are not outside the law! My advice to anyone reading these reviews is to think twice before conducting business with these horrible people. Once they have your money, they will do everything they can to keep it. They don't answer their phones most times, they seldom respond to emails, they move address without giving any notice, and they have a blatant disregard for the law. Avoid at all costs. Save yourself the same hassle I, and many, many others have had to experience.
