I purchased two iPads from CEX Aylesbury. I wasn't sure if they would work for what I needed them for. Not knowing the shop I asked whether I would be able to return them if they did not work for what I needed them. I made it clear if I could not then I would not be purchasing them. I was told that I would be able to return them within two days no problem. This reassured me and so I bought the items. What I was not told was that the refund would only be in the form of vouchers. I clearly did not know their returns policy - hence my asking. So I was shocked when I returned the items only to be told that the refund would have to be vouchers. I can understand the original employee making the mistake in not telling me BUT the total lack of ownership of this response by the inshop supervisors and then online customer service has been truly awful. They have failed to accept that I was misled and to make an exception to their usual policy given the error of their employee. These were intended as birthday presents for my boys - and I will now have to look for money in our stretched budget elsewhere as I sit on vouchers I don't want to spend. Deeply disappointed by the customer service I have received and will not be using the company again.
