Disappointing Product Quality and Inadequate Customer Service
I have been a loyal Tropicfeel customer, purchasing several products over time and frequently recommending them to colleagues and friends. However, my latest experience has been so disappointing that it has completely changed my opinion of the brand.
I purchased a Shell Backpack Core Black along with the FidLock Toiletry Core Black in August 2024. The main feature that convinced me to choose the Shell Backpack was the ability to attach the FidLock to the outside of the bag. However, after just 4 months of use, the FidLock attachments proved to be completely unreliable. While walking or simply placing the backpack down, one of the attachments comes undone easily, making this feature unusable for travel or daily use.
I contacted customer service, confident that the issue fell under their 2-year warranty, which, according to their own policy, covers:
(i) the product not matching the description,
(ii) having characteristics different from those advertised,
(iv) not showing the normal quality and performance expected for products of the same type.
Despite providing evidence (photos and videos showing that the attachments are in perfect condition but simply do not function as advertised), customer service responded with template emails, ignored my points, and repeatedly stated that the issue was not covered under warranty.
Their approach was both insulting and frustrating: they never gave a specific explanation of why my case didn’t qualify, nor did they offer concrete solutions such as a replacement or refund—both of which would have been more than justified given the circumstances.
This experience has left me feeling completely abandoned as a customer. Not only is the quality of the FidLock product subpar and far from what is advertised, but their customer service has also proven to be unprofessional and disappointing.
I would never have expected such treatment from a brand positioning itself as premium. It is clear that Tropicfeel is unreliable in both the quality of its products and in honoring the guarantees it promises.
I will not purchase from Tropicfeel again, nor will I recommend their products to anyone. If you’re considering buying from them, I strongly urge you to reconsider.
