BUYER BEWARE! THIS COMPANY OVERCHARGED ME BY $185.42. On April 21, 2022, I called 1-800-Battery because the dead battery in my camper van was not responding to my small portable jump starter. I discussed with the agent—who said his name was “Jose” and that he was located in California—the prices of replacement batteries and decided on the middle grade, for a total price of $292.77, including installation. "Jose" told me that a local technician would first test to see if the battery could be jumped before replacing it. If so, he said, the only charge would be $99 plus tax, or $107.35, not $292.77 for a battery replacement. "Jose" assured me that nothing would be charged on my credit card until the service was finished and the final price known. I gave him my credit card #. The local tech showed up as promised and successfully jumped the battery. He confirmed that my charge would be $99 plus tax, for a total of $107.35. I would have been delighted with 1-800-Battery if the story had ended there. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that the full amount of $292.77 had been charged to my MasterCard. I called the same number and again reached “Jose” in California. He apologized and said he would correct the charge that very day. But nothing ever changed. I contested the overcharge with MC. But since the transaction was all verbal over the phone, I could not provide any written documentation of what had been promised and delivered. So I have been forced to pay MC the entire $292.77 rather than the $107.35 for service actually delivered. Over the last two months, I've repeatedly contacted 1-800-Battery, but after an initial promise to "escalate" my complaint to corporate higher-ups, no meaningful response has come. They did send me one more email asking for my order number, which I couldn't provide because "Jose" never gave it to me. But I provided the precise address where the local tech had come to service my van on that date and suggested that they look up the order in their records, based on that address or my name, phone #, credit card #, etc. 1-800-Battery never replied to me again. I've given 1-800-Battery plenty of time to make good on "Jose's" promise to adjust the inaccurate charge, so I'm posting this warning so others may not make the same mistake. If this stonewalling is an intentional deception by 1-800-Battery, it is a major breach of ethics, not to mention a terrible way to treat a customer. If 1-800-Battery is an honest company, it owes me a refund of $185.42. I intend to warn my many friends who are van campers. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Totally sucked, waited all day and no show. Can get the same battery at Advance for a hundred dollars less. Don't waste your time like I did.

One star for 800-battery; 5 starts for the tech. Tech came pretty timely and did the install no problem. Probably not his fault, but he brought the wrong battery. Was not the model that I ordered (the website has incorrect information about my car). It will work OK but does not fit in the compartment properly and the lid will not close all the way. Dissappointed.

What a joke. The guy shows up with no tools. Has no idea how to replace a Porsche Boxster battery when it’s dead. Just stands there. Then the company says they are charging me $100 for showing up. On top of it he was two hours late. Not a real company. Never again.

The battery that was sold and installed for me on 9/28/21 went out not even a year after purchase. When the technician came to replace it, he did not complete the installation. He did not connect the battery to the car, instead he simply placed the battery in the car. The next day while out running errands, the car wouldn’t start. I had to call roadside assistance for a jump which is when we discovered that the battery was never installed. When I called the company back to get assistance, I was met with horrible customer service. They didn’t not even bat and eye at my compliant. They also refused to get someone out to install the battery. The representative told me that no one would be out to reinstall the battery until the next day. When I asked to speak to a manager, he stated that they were too busy to speak with me. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I will not be returning.

First time user. No phone call at 1 hour and 50 minutes into my 2 hour service window. I called in, they were not able to reach their technician. waited another 50 minutes, I called in, still no word from the technician. waited 30 minutes and called in again. Just cancelled the service. Sum it up. Reliability is absent. They never called me to tell me they would be late, and when I pressed them to get the work done today, they will not guarantee that the battery will be installed today. My 2 hour window was 1100 to 1300. Waist of my time. Do not recommend them if you are expecting them to get the job done as scheduled or in a timely manner.

I am only choosing one star because if there was zero i would have chosen that. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE. The tech came with the wrong battery and on top of that i was charged $112 for cancellation even though there was no job done whatsoever. I did not see at any point during my purchase a disclaimer that says there will be cancellation fees that is half the price of the battery itself or any cancellation fees at all for that matter. Ridiculous. DO not waste your time and money for a company as terrible as this.

Do Not use this company they are frauds! Waited 2 f’in days. Nobody called they don’t have technicians. POS company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

They are awful! Such a waste of time! My battery and installer showed up 14 hours late, (the next day) when I was told they would be there within 2-3 hours. I tried multiple times to contact the company to check on the order and was not able to get thru to a human. I waited for a representative for over 90 min before hanging up, left a voicemail, tried to live chat, and texted the automated system with no luck. I have asked to speak to a supervisor several times thru the systems mentioned above and am still waiting for one to call me back. Great concept-terrible execution and customer service

My battery wasn’t actually changed (photo proof) and I got stuck again with a dead battery. I’ve been in the chat on the website for four hours with nobody responding.

Searched by zip code, these guys came up. Placed the order, set the time, and received a confirmation/order number. No one showed. contacted them ad was told they cancelled the order because they don't service this area. No notification sent, no one called to tell me the news, when I responded tot he chat that this was not customer service, they ended the session, no response, no apology.

Estimated time at checkout was 2 hours, I checked at the two hour mark and it was going to be another two or three hours. I’ve missed a half day at work because of this, I cancelled and got a tow to an auto parts store within an hour.

This company is the worst business I’ve ever encountered. Their technician brought out the wrong battery for my Toyota Hybrid ( auxiliary battery) and the company could not provide the correct unit. I tried to cancel my order within 1 hour and they had already charged my credit card. After many attempts I was unable to get my money back. I would never use this company!

Tried your website and requested an on line chat; responses were extremely slow (15 minutes + waiting) so tried calling; put on hold for 20+ minutes so left my # for a call back; never got a call; tried website again the next day and can’t get beyond putting in my location; I can’t do business with a company that I can’t contact or communicate with especially when I need quick attention re: a dead battery

Seems like a shoestring operation. Had an appt for a Thurs at 12 noon, no show. Called the 800 number and they had to push it to 2-3, ok. No show. Called again, I can get a tech out to you tomorrow morning between 9-10. No show. Called again, I will find a tech to be out there this afternoon. Are you kidding me. Refund me immediately. What a joke!!!

Gave eta of 9:30 am. No show or call. I chatted with customer service at 11:30 they said he would be there in 30-45 mins. Again no show or call. Finally arrived and installed battery at 3:00. I wasted the entire day waiting around. Should at least call or send email if not going to show up on time.
