Changed buses before leaving Dublin airport

Driver very pleasant and helpful. Coach didn’t arrive on time at destination but traffic was heavier than expected. Seats are too close together.

My wife and I had made a booking from Leopardstown to Dublin Airport for 13.00 on Thursday 11 May 2023. No coach arrived for that time or the 13.15 time. We eventually caught a coach at 13.30. We always head to the airport as early as possible - so the delay did not affect us unduly. However, other customers booking for that coach may not have been so fortunate.

It was fast and got us to the airport in good time. We joined at Samuel Beckett bridge as it was near our hotel. The confirmation email provided a link to where the bus stop was but in fact there was a row of different Bus stops there and none specifically for Aircoach, so we, and some other passengers, were not sure we were at the right stop till the bus showed up. We had carry on airport bags. The driver didn’t offer to put them in the hold (I saw there was loads of space there when he opened it on arrival) and they proved too big to fit in the overhead racks so we had to have them squeezed on our laps for the fortunately short journey.

The telephone helpdesk staff were brilliant. The journey from the airport wasn't so great as the driver didn't say when a stop was nearing. if you're new to Dublin (any city in fact), you generally don't know where you're stop is to get off. We went right past our stop and then had a half an hour's walk to get back to where we should have been dropped. An electronic sign inside the bus might help with this. Return journey was fine.

Late arrivals in the bus stop

The ride was fine but I bought a second seat because I thought there was no way I'd make my original bus due to my late plane (I made it by 20 seconds). I bought flexipass but I think it's unfair that I couldn't use the 2nd fare for a return ticket on the same route. All the seats were selling out so the flexipass is basically useless.

Love the coach and the timely service. It was an early pickup but even still the drivers (both different on way out and back) appear grumpy and a smile wouldn't go astray. Would definitely use again though.

Bus arrived around 30mins later to bus stop I took.

My main concern with this service is how far off from the scheduled time the bus arrived at our pick-up location. Albeit early, the Aircoach shuttle arrived around 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time and did not wait until the scheduled time to depart. AKA if you showed up at the scheduled time, the bus would not have actually picked you up.

We booked for 2 adults and 2 kids a few weeks ago. Our 830 was cancelled. We could get the 8 or 9 am coach. We needed the 8 we work at 7.35 to the email. It was a rush and we couldn’t have breakfast at home. Cost us €56 for breakfast in airport. Not what we were expecting. I was also disappointed to see last bus was 1.30. I wrongly assumed that it still ran all night. My flight last week was due to land at 1.55. Had to get hubby to come and collect me. My mother had to stay over with the kids. My aunt had a return tickets a few months ago and went to get bus and was told there was non for over 2 hours. Pre covid this service was so reliable. Post covid it’s not been as good. I’m aware that driver are in short supply and I’ve found your drivers extremely helpful. My daughter uses a wheelchair and they’ve always helped us on. In face they said if we book wheelchair spot then our bus wouldn’t have been cancelled. I didn’t book wheelchair because she can manage steps and I didn’t want to impose extra work for you. This was also the reason why we had to take 8 am coach rather than 9 as we always get delayed going through extra searches at security.

Cordiali saluti

I love this service, but when the coach actually picks up passengers. It’s happened 2-3 times where I purchased an online ticket for a coach and then it drove by with a sign saying coach full prebook tickets only, even though I had purchased a ticket. It’s just really unprofessional to oversell a bus when you know customers at later stops have purchased tickets. When it actually works and picks up customers that paid for tickets it’s a great service, but I’m hesitant to recommend it because it’s so inconsistent.

When I received the confirmation it said the driver would take the bags into the bus. I was travelling with four bags and did it myself. I would recommend just adding a note that the driver does not assist with any bags. Thank you.

Journey to Dublin was ok, the bus was nearly full so my partner and myself had to sit apart, no big deal but if we could’ve booked seats together we would’ve. The journey back to Cork…. Well, the driver seemed to be more eager to get to Cork than any of the passengers ( although we very nearly missed the turn off M7 for M8, so just avoided reroute to Limerick) We raced from Dublin airport to city centre travelling at speeds well above the limit overtaking and undertaking traffic including taxis, who as we know don’t be crawling. We arrived at city centre got all passengers onboard and then had to wait 7 minutes before departing as we were too early for the stop. On the motorway I noticed the bus was restricted to 100 so no speeding but lots of drifting into outer lane then over correcting into hard shoulder and vice versa. Approaching toll plazas at excessive speed as well as Dunkettle interchange, and arriving 15 minutes early. We would have much preferred to have had a comfortable journey where we didn’t feel in danger and arrive on time.

Was told by Grand Canal Hotel to stand Across the Street from the Aircoach sign at the Old Schoolhouse Hotel. Turns out the stop is about 40 yards from there--I Raced to the coach when it stopped but the driver looked very annoyed that I was not in place immediately. In no way did I cause the coach to be behind schedule. Suggest the driver lend a little grace to an out of town visitor.

Aircoach is conveniently located close to my house, hence why I use the service frequently. On the plus side is the 24-hour service, online booking and real-time information about the services. On some occasions, the buses were not properly clean, and on some occasions, the drivers were not polite to passengers, especially tourists that are struggling to find their way or lack good English.
