Wouldn't you have thought that at least Aldi would have tried at Christmas time, but no. Lots of excuses of course and reasons why, even a sort of apology, but it is indicative of this nasty company to issue words of little meaning. What am I writing about? The fiasco and utter disgrace of their so called oven roast turkeys in those nasty little bags which are supposed to be oven proof. What happened? Many of these bags melted and ruined the birds within. Not only that but some people bought them and the contents were off. This latter part could be attributed to the rough handling of said packaged birds due to staff pressure to do ever more in their allotted hours. Surprise? Not really.

That's strange. With so many negative things I do not understand how it got five stars.

I came across this further down and thought I would cut and paste it here. It is so very true!!"Well done aldi for showing this country can survive on it's own? That remark could not be more wrong if some staff member really tried harder. Aldi is a GERMAN company for goodness sake!! Doesn't the following remark simply add fuel to the widely held view that this company are not at all friendly. I QUOTE...."For all the snobs who want to go in, but won't, carry on throwing your money away!!!!!!" Snobs? Because we like to shop elsewhere? I would like to see FAKE reviews removed from this site as they are not only wrong but they actually give Aldi an even worse name than they already have. There is much more I could say but but I do not like to be nasty".

Bought a nail gun from the Burpham store as a Christmas gift for my father.... It was a bit too tempting so decided to keep it. When I opened it up it was clear that it was used, Bits were missing, packing tape holding things together etc I took it back but they didn't have a replacement so they told me to speak to Head office. Head office told me as there are no nail guns in a 25 mile radius I could have a refund (would have preferred a new one). I when back and they offered me £9.99 when the purchase price was I believe £79.99. Unbelievable!!!!! I am partly to blame as cant find the receipt but selling second hand items that are possibly faulty or dangerous as new surely should be a prosecute-able offence....shame on you Aldi!

Came across this on a site regarding Aldi so thought I would post here. There was much more but this is enough and says it all really. "Because ALDI is micromanaged to hell and back. They time their associates on everything, including the bathroom use. The average lunch break is 15–20 minutes while the day can last as long as 15 hours. They require one worker to do the job of 5 people. You will unload pallets and sprint back to help people at the register AT THE SAME TIME. ALDI is shameless. Lower level ALDI employees are extremely expendable and the company isn’t afraid to remind them that it isn’t personal, but just business. They allow customer and management mistreatment at the same time".

Nothing there which is surprising. Like their stores really. Useless. HERMES and YODEL should always be well steered clear of at any time of the year. As for expecting a reply you would be more likely to have their checkouts slow down than a reply. I guess you will stop shopping with them anymore?

That's odd. You do not say anything about items they sell or quality thereof. Such a sweeping statement that all their stores are good is highly questionable. Have you actually been in them all to say this? Staff knowledgeable? Coo. Do not think so. They for certain are not knowledgeable regarding how to treat people. Anyway, there we are. NEVER bother emailing Aldi with any sort of issue or complaint as it is extremely unlikely they will bother replying beyond the auto reply. Best supermarket for quality has to be Tesco, but not best for price. M&S has to be the worse for high prices and not better produce than anywhere else. A company which lives in the past.

Poor Paul. This comes as no surprise at all and my heart goes put to you. It is an outrage, not just because of the reasons you state but because it is the same in all their stores, this dreadful discriminatory policy towards the elderly and less able. It borders on the illegal and really should be investigated. As for their utterly useless checkouts.....simply pack at the till. They cannot stop you. I say this for those of us who are able to do so. What a nasty company this is isn't it. Stay away is my advice. To be honest I would rather pay more going elsewhere for civility and kindness. Oh, and of course freshness. Tip...stand your bags up in your trolley if you can before they start trying to beat the world checkout speed record and DO NOT let them harass you. If they do go slower.

Tried to use a blue basket to load my shopping to take it to the front table to put in my bag. Was stopped, the reason, the person serving me said 200 baskets had been stolen so you cannot do that. Was confronted by a member of staff as well who said "no exceptions" Even a staff member on the next till was shouting at me. I felt like a thief the way I was treated. Three staff members were around me saying things over my blue basket. I feel your packing area around the till is not large enough, thats why I use the basket so I do not hold up the que. I am a pensioner

Let's try to clear something up. Reading these reviews seems to suggest that the vast majority of reviewers find aldi not satisfactory. If it is so good and full of quality why don't more people say so. Yes, you do get the odd staff review, but these must of course be discounted. This company is there for one purpose only, to sell to the British public cheap and mostly inferior goods of the food variety. They operate in their own home country and elsewhere in the same manner. I know because I have been to them. In my opinion you simply cannot buy quality food which is cheap. It does not happen. Not now and never has. If this company had good customer relations it might give them one redeeming factor, but it doesn't.

I was at aldi in kilmarnock a couple of days ago and did some light shopping. One of the items i purchased was frazers steak bakes sold in packets of two and cosy£1 , 19 pence. I did read the contents of ingrediants and was impressed by meat content of 63%. Today the 6/12/19 i decided to have one . It was a sickening experience as i was eating fat only and on looking inside i could see meat content was spread like jam but thinner. Returned them today and had a full refund. Why doesnt trading standards not do checks on such items. They can print anything on packaging knowing that no checks are done. Wished i had taken photo.

Daily Express carried an a advert for aldi today....I quote...."If consumers were to do a one-stop-shop aldi is the cheapest place to go to feed a family of eight". End of quote. This conclusion was come to by "Good Housekeeping". Please notice that they said nothing whatsoever about quality, only that it was likely cheapest. If quality was involved they would for sure have said so. Sorry aldi, seems it has backfired upon you. Cheapest could be, quality not.

I bought a pack of Tortelloni (65p) from a store I was passing. When I got home I noticed there was mould in the pack. I contacted customer "service" who told me to return it to a store for refund or replacement. My nearest store is 5 miles away (10 mile round trip). Made the journey at some inconvenience and expense. 65p Tortelloni no longer stocked....now £1.15. They refused to swap the pack for the dearer one , despite my long journey. No real apology. Contacted customer service again , and just got the same brush off. Customer"service" DISGUSTING!

I went into aldi in Dover this morning at 0900 hrs just to see if I had been unfair in my previous review. Not to see if quality had improved because it never will, but to see if the store was still in a shocking mess. IT WAS!! I counted thirteen, yes that's right, thirteen loaded pallets in various walkways just sitting there waiting to be unloaded. Five of these were wire type containers. What it is with this store I do not know. The windows were filthy in parts pf the store too. At least try to keep the store neat and tidy. Very bad impression with Morrisons, Asda, and Farm Foods very close by. Iceland too with home delivery, which is reliable, unlike aldi's delivery system which has to be the worse in the trade.

I brought a box of jacket potatoes today after time for microwaves they were like rock at least with McCain when cooked in a microwave they soft and not rock hard, what gets me no where on the box is, where its from, and the company who did not part cook them, and then have to take them back and stand in huge line to get a refund and should I take the part eaten ones back, as well the box, no one person seems to have cooked and tried it, I have learnt one thing don't buy any food from Aldi stores in Swindon only coop or Lidl they food seams fresher, its one only star, but if I could it be none.

Have been purchasing Aldi's 'Stackers' crisps for some time. A few weeks ago they disappeared from the shelves. Now they have returned in different packaging and larger crisps. I have always bought 'original flavour' but find the recipe has been changed considerably and for the worse. Although still palatable the new 'original' flavour is nothing like as good as the original 'original' flavour. Not only that but glucose has been added, which makes it a no-no for me, a diabetic. How can something be 'original' if it's just been changed? Perhaps a complaint to the Advertising Standards is in order. I won't recommend this product any longer.

Purchased 4 195g sirloin steaks if I had been served these in a restaurant I would have sent them back. A lot of sinew and fatty tissue which resulted in approx. 25% waste. Not to be recommended.

We live in Sidmouth but go to Aldi in Honiton. Went today to find most of our normal buys out of stock. No fresh orange juice, no bread etc. We did pick up some beetroot that was vac packed and dated April 20. However opened it this evening to find it was not really beetroot colour. I tasted it to find that it was soft and tasted off. I don't know what has changed at Honiton but unless it gets back to normal will be going elsewhere in future. Lidl or Tesco.
