My daughters bought me a Dremel for fathers day...unknown to them I already owned a Dremel. My daughters gave me the Dremel and the receipt and I drove the 7 miles to the Romford store to exchange it for another product... I did not want any money back but just an exchange for another product/s. I was informed by the NOT VERY HELPFUL returns desk operative that this could not be done. So know I have to drive to my daughters house...7 miles away, give her the Dremel and receipt and she has to drive 7 miles back to B&Q Romford and get a refund and drive 7 miles back home. Surely someone with a little commonsense in this company must realise that folk are given a present of B&Q wares and if they bring their receipt with the purchase and do not want a monetary refund just an exchange of goods this procedure could be carried out. Bye Bye B&Q's... I may have to pay extra at another store but you have now lost my custom and my companies custom...and to inform you that IN GEAR EVENTS...who spend a considerable amount of money in your store will now be purchasing elsewhere Glenn Clark

I have problem with the hinge positions on the overhead bridging unit. Took a photograph and went back to the Oldham store. The head of the kitchen department told me, curtly, i had fitted the wrong hinges, strange as the hinges came with the door retaining kit. After more disussions i was told that i would have to bring the unit back to the store to check which piece was wrong, the door or the cabinet. When I explained that unit was already fitted and it was obviously the door fixings that were in the wrong position I was told aggressively that I may have to return the unit itself. I explained the unit was fitted but was told I would need to dismantle it and return it. No mention of a representative coming to my home to asses the situation. The head of the kitchen department was quite aggressive throughout talking to me like i was some kind of idiot i would suggest B&Q should give some of their staff customer relations training. Stay away.

I only went for a couple of deck boards and some citronella oil, everything I bought was priced incorrectly, deck boards at £5.25 each came up at £12.25 and 1 litre of citronella oil at £4 was actually 850 ml at £6,girl at till couldn't understand why I didn't want to pay more for a smaller bottle than the price on the shelf, this apart from the fact that the sticker on the shelf said 1 litre and the bottle is actually 850 ml,needless to say I'm buying it elsewhere.

I ordered a kitchen and bathroom from Romford store, Total cost approx £7,500. The bathroom delivery had so many items missing i thought it couldn't get any worse for the kitchen but unfortunately the same was true. Plinths, cupboards, doors and much more were not delivered. Two weeks before i changed the original poor design, this meant I had to accept two kitchen deliveries and return the other once on site. Ridiculous situation to have to take delivery of two ovens, cupboards and doors etc because the store could not cancel the original order. My fitters pointed out the cupboards as designed left a 170mm gap top and bottom, i spent two weeks visiting the store daily to supply the fitters with the materials not delivered, a waste of my time and money. After kitchen was fitted it was obvious that the drawers were not soft close as paid for. The Romford store insisted the draws were somehow fitted back to front! Even after emailing pictures to the draw manufacturers who agree the draw mechanism was not soft closing the store kept insisting they were! Refitting the draws cost me another £150 which has not been refunded by B&Q. I would not use this company again under any circumstances.

Ordered a kitchen and a bathroom from here could not fault the service we had hence the extra star ( and the fact you can't give 0) but from the start part the delivery was cancelled due to boxes damaged but didn't say what items it was turns out floor and taps was on that order then went into store to find out what had happened then said it was discontinued so then had to choose more flooring and get the taps again then didn't send enough tiles for what we needed in one week had to go into store 5 times to sort out things missing or not including such as connections for the oven, sent loads more plinths and pelmets for what was actually needed spent so much time in store that was on first name with three staff who knew the order nearly off by heart put in a complaint as it put the job over by two weeks and was only offered a £50 voucher. We are now recommending people to stay away from them

When placing the order on their website on 14/5 it said delivery within 7 days and would be contacted within 2 days to confirm the delivery. After 2 days had no call and I called B&Q to discuss the order. It was then mentioned that this was down to the supplier Forest Gardens. After discussing with Forest Gardens there was an internal error with their processes and then told delivery would not be until 24/6. Ridiculous system. The website should not show delivery within a set timeframe if this cant be met. The only good thing is that B&Q customer service refunded my order when I complained.

Have you checked out their prices? they are now dearer than the usual expensive builders merchants and garden nurseries. Now they have cancelled the over 60's discount.

I WOULD GIVE NO STAR IF IT WAS POSSIBLE. THEY DELIVERED THE WRONG GOODS, THEN REFUNDED ME FOR THEM AND KEPT THE DELIVERY CHARGE, BUT CLAIM IT HAS BEEN REFUNDED., BUT IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN. CUSTOMER SERVICES AND CEO OF COMPANY NOT AT ALL INTERESTED. TERRIBLE SERVICE , WILL BE USING OTHER DIY MERCHANTS IN FUTURE

B&Q are not interested in price matching, we were a few days over the 14 days and out of the 10 miles zone, but did travel over 15 miles to the store. Could have got the product £118 cheaper at HOMEBASE This is so disappointing as I have spent loads of money at B&Q in the past and they have been good with returns previously.

Placed order on Friday 31st of may for £127 pounds worth of guttering bits told next day delivery phoned on Monday 3rd and was told oops ?? We took your money but did not place your order , but don't worry we will reorder for you so it should be we you on June 4th . On the said day we had two answer phone messages one stating we can only deliver some of your items ,the second message was sorry have not got any stock we will refund your money but will take up to seven days . So they took our money out on the 31st may and we should have it back by the 10th of June what good service we had won't shop there again.

Try leaving a review for an item on their website, your not allowed to mention the company "Forest Gardens", you can't say the delivery was good, in fact you can't seem to leave a negative review so if you are buying anything from B&Q and its coming from "Forest Gardens" direct and its made of wood be prepared for poor quality, shoddy workmanship and damaged goods.

Bought a brand new Mountfield sit down mower T30M Gloucester branch £1400 on; 29/3/19 told there was a 2 year guarantee and 43 week return policy it arrived late after several phone calls. Use once wether permitting we had to cut the long grass with large tractor topper before permitting the Mountfield on the plot (Machine had black smoke-bad gear engagement-grass blocking up- stop starting-Constant Engage gear failure etc 17/5/19 it was returned to Gloucester It did not work properly We were instructed to use the service link system which gave me phone numbers of garden repair company’s in Gloucestershire . Reported back as to S/L and BQ as Downright rude and expensive. ? So I emailed manager BQ let them know I would bring it back I hired a trail to deliver the machine back to BQ Gloucester. 17/5/19 After a long mornings wait for managers on phone to SL repair company’s he would not accept my machine and refused to sign my proof of return letter or the machine. I had no alternative but leave the machine with BQ returns dept to deal with it asking for my money back . To date I have not had any contact or my money back. As BQ nominated repair company said (what do you expect when dealing with cowboys ) Mike

I bought some outside cable in the week which has done a wonderful job, a great product. Basically needed some more, so went into store on Saturday 1st June. I managed to find what may have been the same cable, however it was the last one and was unpacked and shoved onto the shelf. It had been used in my opinion. However at the time I wasn’t too fussed. I took it to customer services to see if maybe they had some more in stock out back or could order me some. The lady at the desk Elise I think was her name was incredibly helpful and friendly. With very little info and no packaging or barcode she tried to help me identify the cable. With not a lot of luck she called over what I can only think was the supervisor(Died Red Hair Elderly Lady). After a little digging she apparently identified the product. I kindly asked as I was willing to buy it unboxed and unlabelled.. if I could have a small discount on it as it couldn’t be sold as new.(Which I believe is law) At this point the supervisor very rudely stated: ‘Well your not going to keep the packaging are you?’ I stated ‘No but it’s a possibly used, unlabelled, unpackaged item, that I’m still willing to purchase. I’m just asking for a small discount, as I don’t really want to pay full price for an item that’s not new.’ Your supervisor stated ‘Well if your not willing to pay full price £28 then I won’t sell it too you.’ As you may have guessed I left the store feeling very angry at the treatment I received and the blatant bad attitude from your supervisor who seemed to think it was ok to try and sell a used product for new. This should not have been on the shelve anyway, or at least should have been in the bargain bin. This is not the first time I’ve come across this, but after today I felt enough is enough, I’m going to complain. I went in to buy some firewood recently and found a stack of wood on the shelves unpackaged, was told then cant sell it unless I paid full price. Bought a chiminea some weeks back, got it home, found rubbish inside and the top plate smashed. Decided to give the store the benefit of the doubt as I felt I could still use it. Paid full price for that still though. Re shelving used products as new seems to be a habit at this Swindon store. Feel like the store maybe needs to be investigated. I pretty sure this is illegal.

B and Q delivery charges as shown on their website are misleading. I have just bought 2 wardrobe doors for £140 and have been charged £10 for standard home delivery. There is no mention anywhere on the pages relating to wardrobe doors that these items are charged as 'large items', however every page features the statement 'items over £50 delivered free'. I believe the information on the website relating to these items to be deliberately misleading. I emailed B and Q regarding this issue and got no reply. I telephoned customer services and got a speech about company policy etc. after listening to adverts on how wonderful B and Q is while waiting for phone to be answered.

A pathetic, inept shower of incompetents peddling completely useless tat at extortionate prices. Awful staff, terrible website, a stock-checker that tells more un-truths than Boris Johnson, and an atmosphere resembling a warehouse morgue. Avoid like the plague.

Ask a sales assistant if they sold greenhouse glazing clips Got the reply “why would we when we don’t sell greenhouses” Nice! With that logic It’s a wonder they sell anything

I am very disappointed with the inflexibility of delivery days/times by PJH (the delivery company used by B&Q). I purchased a screen for my bath on 16th May. It is looking like my item will finally be delivered 'three weeks' (!) after I ordered it. Choice of delivery day has been limited and time slots for the delivery day are confirmed at too short notice (and are very wide). I am very disappointed in B&Q delivery management. Shocking.
