AWFUL! I booked a collection for some darker coloured units as I am moving house and want some bright new furniture. I had no idea what time the collection was happening on the day as I did not receive any updates. As soon as I showed one of the pieces of furniture the driver turns around and say 'No good, we cannot take'. I asked why and he points out at some minor cosmetic scratches on the surface, which of course over time you will get with older furniture but it was not tatty to the point where it could not sell. I showed him the other furniture, much to my annoyance and again said 'No good, we cannot take, you will have to find somewhere to dump it'. I was completely shocked and annoyed, not only did they refuse to take the furniture which had minor cosmetic surface damage (no cracks, no pieces missing, no breaks), all in perfectly good working condition, they also promoted fly tipping which is a major problem in the town currently (Swindon). Well done British Heart Foundation, useless, I will not be using your services again. A sad shame as this could have raised a nice amount for the charity.

Requested a collection of some electrical items, all good condition with handbooks, and other quality goods of clothes and household items. No response so contacted the Eastleigh branch. The man was not interested in the electrical items and suggested we take the goods to the shop. We are elderly so could not carry them. A missed opportunity to raise money and have gift aid.

Much like every other review here truly disgusting experience!!!! Arranged for a 3 seater couch to be collected and it was refused, one reason it being the colour blue? 3 absolutely chancers that appeared and from the second they got out the van i just knew they weren’t taking it! This was in paisley too so not surprised if most of these reviews are same place

Terrible experience no prices on anything was told by a very rude man it was 100 pound, for a little dog asked again and was told 100 pound. No price then went to the till and wonen scanned and made her own price UP 35 pound. Rubbish seen the same dog at the range brand new for half the price. I thought this was a chairty shop NOT a furniture shop where they ate charging full price. Sofa I saw 65 pound and was told in a week it would go down, I've been today and it a 100 more. Egypt sofa bought it was full of cushions but when it was delivered it was missing cushions. I think the eastleigh store should be investigated.

If I could give 0 stars I would...decline a perfectly good sofa due to the ever so slightest scratch on fabric. At university I had bought a sofa from BHF in Leamington, which had stank of smoke and was scuffed far worse! How on earth can they sell poor quality and reject perfectly acceptable states is beyond me. This was an absolute sham. BHF is waste! I wish i had read the reviews below. DO NOT DONATE to BHF find a better charity!

Truly awful experience. Arranged to collect fridge freezer which was in good condition. Had the pull down flap missing on freezer on top shelf and the driver was SO rude to me and refused to take it! He stormed off and I was left open mouthed an upset in my garden! Awful. Don’t bother. Revolting people.

Rang shop about some furniture I wanted to donate the lady I spoke to was very nice and polite however the men that showed up to take them refused saying it wasn’t good enough, even though it was nearly new and not a mark on it. The men from BHF were like rude, petulant school boys and when I asked what was wrong they couldn’t say. So was left with furniture that was almost new but thankfully it went to some who was very happy with it. Come on sort the moody drivers out or people will stop giving to a great cause. This did happen a while ago.

Having arranged to donate 2x2 seater settees they arrived this morning to collect only to say that they were too worn to sell! We spent an hour clearing the garage so that they could be carried out safely. If you only want perfect/new items say that up front. I will not be offering any more items and cannot recommend to anyone else.

I arranged to donate a double divan bed and mattress to BHF. They called the day before to push the collection back by two weeks. When the guys did come to take the bed, they advised they could not take the mattress as it was stained and wouldn't take the divan because they couldn't sell it without the mattress. The divan was perfectly suitable. None of this was explained when I made the booking. I've now arranged for the bed and mattress to be recycled after having them both blocking the use of my dinning room for a month. Don't waste your time donating anything to BHF. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else or recycle.

Absolutely awful. Felt like I had a disgusting dining set. Sent photos but was told the driver would make the final decision. Nothing wrong with it. It had been painted with chalk paint shabby chic but driver didn’t get it. Since this happened I’ve asked around and people have told me they had the same experience. What do they want ? Brand new furniture? Won’t be donating to them again.

I think sadly, this is the worst ever service I experienced with any company or - in this case - charity. They do absolutely nothing to raise money for those in need. I tried to call them numerous times, no one EVER picks up the call, sometimes the wait time is 40 min then the answer phone turns on. I left tens of messages and no one ever got back to me. The pick up of my furniture was totally messed up and after 3 weeks I was left with the sofa which could have been SOLD BY THEM AND MONEY COULD HAVE BEEN RAISED. I gave up on them and I do not wish to have any dealings with them anymore...What a waste of time...Someone should look into this charity and review it!!! I lodged a formal complaint as well but feeling like giving up as no one returned to me on that either!

Booked an online collection for a brown suede headboard for a double bed. Had a phone call the next day to say that a collection was not financially viable unless I had other items as well. The headboard was in lovely condition and cost me around £100 when new. I have donated several items in the past but this is the last time. Disgusted!

Sofa delivered with hydraulic grease on cushions. Store will not pick up or refund money. Fobbed off with " nowhere to store it " as an excuse. No contact from complaints department. A sofa i cannot use and £135 out of pocket & 30 day return policy ticking away. Shocking service.

Applied for a stock room assistant job, invited to come to the interview the next day, been told I would of been given the job. Was told to come in for a hour to see if I like the job and to see if I actually wanted the job, went in the next morning and all of a sudden the job description changed!!!, from stock room assistant to assembling furniture!!! Safe to say I failed as I had no experience fixing up furniture. If only the job ad stated that they wanted a furniture assembler and that experience is a must!, it was a total waste of time so please be very careful when applying for a job at this company.

Terrible experience with the BHF. Tried to arrange furniture collection via email, an option given on their website. They refused to email me, instead trying to ring me. If you will not arrange collections by email do not have it as an option on your website. When the collection lorry arrived they refused to collect an unused mattress, making up something about a mark. Cleary they were thrilled not to pick it up, not doubt happy to avoid doing any actual work. The entire time dealing the BHF they have been rude and arrogant, I will never donate to them again.

BHF- IPSWICH Lol I didn’t realise I was donating these items to the royal family. I had 2 sofas in Perfectt condition and was told the drivers had refused them because they were worn when you sat on them. More like because there too lazy to take them These sofas are brand new so I found this so offensive. When I called to ask why they hadn’t been taken the women just gave me attitude on the phone . This company is a joke. Don’t even bother giving anything to them they pick and choose like there some upmarket designer store .. PLEASE! 🙄 you’re just a charity don’t forget that
