Im glad I am not the only one that had this terrible experience. Again I arranged collection waited all day was told between 12-5 and no one turned up . They had phoned me aswel to say they had this day a Avalible .. useless

I organised a pickup of a steamer a 3 bags of clothes. This was all agreed. I had to wait 2 weeks for a pick-up date. The driver told me they couldn’t take the bags of clothes. I had no warning of this. I am pregnant, so can’t currently carry heavy bags to a charity shop or donation bin. I wish I had warning.

There is definitely something wrong with the approach taken by the BHF to furniture collections. This is the second time I have dealt with them (different branches) and on both occasions the process left me feeling disappointed, disenchanted and very concerned. If BHF want to take a completely commercial approach to their furniture collection they should state this up front instead of lulling people into thinking that this is a charitable organisation intent on raising funds for the organisation and ensuring that people in need receive furniture they might need and cannot otherwise afford. I had items rejected by the collection team on both occasions for no good reason - today two brand new sofas which I have had to let go because of downsizing and they were trying to say that because they had been cleaned the fabric was worn!!! They were brand new!!! Easily worth hundreds of pounds but I was trying to do the charitable thing. Same with wardrobes which they reckoned were too big to get downstairs - yet they had been brought upstairs! Obviously too late on a Friday afternoon and too difficult for them to be bothered to attempt to move. And whats with checking furniture for scratches? Second hand is not new!! Shame on BHF - policy, staff training/guidance in need of a major overhaul. WIll never use again and that saddens me.

I always though that charity shops appreciated furniture etc and also to help people that could not afford to buy new. I offered a three piece settee in good condition to BHF when I rang to arrange collection the lady told me the driver would take it if he liked it! Alarm bells ringing?? Driver and two “mates” came today and in my opinion found anything they could to refuse it! Cushions don’t match?? Won’t be any use to them! If I’d have realised I’d have gone to DFS and purchased a new one for them! Never again will I offer to BHF charity shops. If I thought the settee was ready for the tip I’d have taken it there.

If i could rate 0 i would, it's like i'm getting Jekyll and Hyde when I go through the process of organising a collection with BHF, where the people on the phone are very nice and happy to organise a collection then come to collection day and moody, rude and unprofessional collection drivers arrive. I've been trying to organise this Black tempered glass TV stand collection for months now but due to the current pandemic BHF has had to cancel but that's understandable and I'm okay with that because they always called to let me know what was going on and I was surprised that they called me again after lockdown 3 to arrange another collection so quickly, I was pleased. Then comes collection day letting me know they're near, very nice but then they just look at and say its damaged i'm not taking it, i said where?! It is not damaged at all, he claimed it is scratched from standing far away, there was dust that settled on the glass because it has been sitting in a corner for months to be collected, he then gets a T-shirt to wipe it not even acknowledging me or my mum, looking deep into the glass for any scratches, even the smallest so he doesn't have to take it, taking pictures of the black tempered glass as if we've committed a crime. I said just leave it if you don't want it, i honestly think it's disgusting that a charity would send people who make you feel like something you thought was very nice to give away (especially if you kept it in great condition) is invaluable to them! As when i visit a charity shop I expect a second hand item that i can fix up at a bargain price, not a new item, so for them to be so picky and rude and expecting the item to be brand new is surprising to me, there was nothing wrong with the TV stand at all, it was 'good as new', they were looking for problems and took the TV stand in the end. They didn't safely put it in the van either so any damage during the journey to the charity shop is down to them.This is the second time this has happened i thought the first men were just being difficult the first time but this second time I realised it's down to the charity's high expectations and the collection drivers literally inspecting items as if it's going to a prestige auction house, making you feel horrible for giving. Reading the other comments on here, it seems as though they do this a lot and it's crazy that there are a lot of people in unfurnished houses that really need items like these all mentioned and wouldn't bat an eye, complain or "inspect it" if you gave it to them, i tried to give it away on facebook for free but seems as though most people have their TVs on the wall or wide screen TVs, thought this was a better way to give it away but clearly not. After this experience i don't believe in giving to charity anymore especially British Heart Foundation, better to find actual people in need on facebook free groups/facebook marketplace where i can just try to give away stuff for free, at least people will not be rude to you, don't even bother with British heart foundation unless your stuff is new in it's packaging!

Agree totally with the last reviews, organised a pick up of my mums brand new 3 + 2 navy blue draylon seater sofas after she had to go into a care home, the driver was rude, said it wasnt the colour they required, I was disgusted, there was probably people sat on boxes this Christmas and he refused to take it, so I had to get the circular saw out out and destroy it, then took to the tip, he couldn't be arsed to be honest, I called head office, who said he was their eyes, never ever again, I will never give to any charity again, and will never recommend it, disgusting....

Such a Time wasters. They have drivers who is just wasting charity money. If have anything for removal please take it to the branch itself not booking with their useless drivers. Please avoid them at any cause.

Terrible experience!! I offered few furniture for the charity ( Finchley branch) and they were in good condition. We had a David Lloyd wing back leather chair, an antique kidney table (that I bought from and antique dealer) a gold guilded large mirror, a nearly new keyboard stand and lots of books. I wasn't getting rid of them because they were damaged but because I bought new furniture and was replacing them. When they came to collect the man was extremely rude and said the furniture was not good enough. The leather on the arm chair is distressed and that was a damage according to him. Didn't even bother with the kidney table or any of the other furniture. The rude behaviour was very unprofessional and heartbreaking, especially when you are trying to do something good. Left everything behind. Very sad experience, my husband was absolutely disappointed and angry. Very very bad!!!!!

Disgusting!!!!!! I saw a sofa in the British heart foundation shop down Perry Barr One Stop Centre during lockdown, I phoned up the shop yesterday morning as soon as they re opened and spoke to a lady called Linda, she told me I needed to come into the shop by 11 am the following morning to pay for the sofa, she informed me that during our conversation she had taken the price ticket off the sofa and wrote my name on the ticket, I phoned up at 10.55 the following morning to inform them I was 5 minutes away in a taxi, when to my utter disbelief and disappointment was told it had been sold!!!. They said they needed to sell it as had lost money during Covid!! Do not deal with this company!!

If I were able to leave No Stars, I would. Absolutely rubbish from start to finish. AVOID. DO NOT DONATE ANYTHING TO THEM - THEY DON'T DESERVE IT.

Volunteered at the Knowsley Street, Bolton British Heart Foundation in the past. The paid staff stand around the till area most of the day slagging off customers & some of the volunteers behind their backs. if you don't suck up to the paid staff then you'll be singled out and made to stand at the door all day trying to sell British Heart Foundation badges and key rings to people as they come in the shop which basically makes the day drag whilst the rest of them ignore you and make your life miserable. If I'm going to work somewhere for nothing then I would rather work somewhere where they appreciate you. Joanne, If you're still there RUN, you deserve so much better than that. You can run the place better then all of them put together, If only you believed in yourself. They will never tell you how good you are because they know if you believed in yourself that you would have RUN a long time ago, all they are interested in is training volunteers up to do ALL the work then they can shout orders at people and forward to their bonuses !!!

Booked in a time for you to pick a sofa and chair up. At least you turned up but leaving a message on my phone saying you would be here sometime today.. well thanks. You didn’t contact me three days before to say whether you would be here. I just had assume. Anyway you turn up, look at my sofa and chair and say it’s too well used and that you expect new furniture. You guys are a charity. There was one gash in the sofa. The chair was barely used! I got these used as well! They are a good sofa and chair. I would never have contacted you if I thought no one would get a use from them. Thank you for wasting my time and the sarcastic sorry you guys left me with. It is clear you want things a certain way but at least make that clear before you waste a customers time. Wrexham/ Chester branch I would assume. P.S thanks for the dirt you trailed into my house. A really upset customer.

An absolute disgrace! BHF Newton Abbot An absolute disgrace!! BHF Newton Abbot I had the most awful experience ever with the delivery ppl who refused to even try taken the wardrobe I bought when it would have been possible! Then it was a double hell time to get the money back from them into my card as their employee was too thick to understand the fact that it was a refund she needed to do, not a sale! As a result the whole amount I paid for that dammed wardrobe was taken out of my account yet again, meaning twice!! I confirmed with my bank the fact that the money was indeed taken! I went back to this awful shop again to tell them to refund me twice and that horrible man was arguing there was no mistake!! I showed him my bank statement with the price I paid deducted from my account and he finally decided to double check!! Unbelievable, not a word of apology whatsoever! He finally then admitted they made a mistake! Thanks!! Not! I'm furious! Now I have to wait 2 days to see if the money clears in my account or start disputes!! Never buy there! The so called "attempt" delivery charge of £20 was denied to be refunded! I will claim compensation for the extreme stress this caused me!!

Whatever you do, do not try and donate your large furniture to BHF. The chances are that they arrange a pickup time with you, but then don't collect the items as arranged. The drivers are unspeakably rude, as well as incompetent. Terrible, terrible experience. (We were dealing with the Wrexham branch.)

Use to volunteer for the lincoln furniture store. It was like a horror show. The manager is rude and treated me like slave. She wud sit in office watching Netflix

BHF are getting incredibly greedy....£20 for a pair of ankle boots that weren't even branded. £5 for a primark vest when it would have only cost £3 from primark. I shant be going in there or donating to them anymore, they have lost their way become incredibly greedy and most of the funds go to management and advertising anyway rather than the actual cause. Charity shops need to be very careful, people are losing patience with their greed and they will start collapsing over the next few yrs, ultimately the charities suffer. And dont forget those that come into charity shops could do with a little charity themselves so calm down with your greed, especially in times of austerity
