After attending your Spring Open Day in Edinburgh and buying a canon 24 - 70 lens which was reduced by £40. Then looking on your website two or three days only to it was further reduced by another £50, I was not pleased. I will know the next time I attend a Spring Open Day not to buy any of the days offers and wait until it appears on your website later or buy from another supplier.

Appalling. We purchased two different kits for filming and photography. We trusted the sale and service and assumed that the equipment was packed correctly. On arrival at the filming location, we noticed that the equipment was incomplete in so far as a card was missing. We had to delay filming, travel all the way back to the shop in Euston and rather than the two miserable sales assistants accepting our word that the equipment was incomplete because a card was missing, they stubbornly insisted that the card was not necessary. We then had to explain to them that the card was necessary. On realising their error, without an apology for their error, or even an apology for rejecting what we were telling them, they left and went to bring us the missing card. When they returned with the card, they just handed it over. No explanation, no apology at all. I then looked at them for a few seconds and asked, "So why did this happen?" Disturbingly, they simply said, "Don't know" Nothing else. Again, no apology, no smile; not even an attempt at explaining why this happened. Appalling, appalling, appalling service. I have since told another eight filmmakers and production companies about our experience. I wouldn't have minded had they simply acknowledged the error and apologised. The sales assistants were miserable clowns. Why are they working there?

The deliver was good for the tripod but I am still waiting for the cover you did not bother to tell me it was out of stock and had to ring you to find out what was happening. The lady on the phone did not appear to care and just offered to send the large bag (I ordered the medium) or my money back. Therefore not so happy. Very disappointed overall.

I ordered an item at the Drummond St. store. Helpful service from the staff as always, told 1-2 days delivery. Nothing arrived. I had to chase twice over the following week. Apparently most of the stock was from the Birmingham show and still lying in a room in Milton Keynes. But they said I'd be sent one from the Edinburgh store. It arrived as promised - but it was clearly 2nd hand! The box was open (resealed with Sellotape), the internal packaging had been opened, and the cables were dirty indicating extensive prior use). I called Drummond St straight away. They (again helpful), said either immediate return via web site form and Fedex, or spk w/Calumet central tomorrow. I tried the former - but Fedex not possible (I'd have to take it ti a Post Office and insure and sent it myself...). I emailed Calumet customer services explaining the problem - and no response at all. So I called Calumet central who didn't know anything about the email, said they'd send Fedex asap, and a manager would take action straight away and they'd call me right back. The Fedex man arrived quickly and took the 2nd hand item away. Now, 24 hours alter, still no call telling what's happening......

I got gift vouchers and I had to take them into the store to make a purchase, all other high street traders let you make purchases via the internet.

recently equipment was purchased by telephone and arranged to be collected in store, annoyingly the items were not in one store but had to be reserved and collected from Drummond St. and Wardour St. i would have assumed calumet could have arranged that they gather the items together for one collection, however thats the least of the problems, when my colleague went to collect the items he had to wait nearly an hour to be told that they didn't have the item at the Drummond St store and that it was out of stock this was close to the end of the day and left 15 minutes to get to the Wardour st.store (which luckily he did manage with an expensive cab journey as we had an early flight the next morning on a shoot the equipment was required for) its really a shame that as a professional photographer I feel I can only use Calumet as a last resort supplier.

I would like to complain about the absolute lack of customer service Calumet Photographic has provided in the whole process of this transaction. Which I might add that I am still to receive my goods! To start off with I was unable to log into my account, probably because I had not used it in a while. I had to phone up twice in order to resolve this issue. I then placed an order at approximately 3pm on the 11th March and selected the '2 day' delivery option. It is now the 17th March and I have not received my order. I have called twice, once on Saturday 14th and again Monday 16th to chase this up. Both times the person at the other end was very blasé and put the blame on the Birmingham branch and also the fact I'd ordered so late on the Wednesday. 3pm is within business hours and your delivery option states 2 days (not working days I might add) so I should have had my order by Friday, Saturday at the latest. I am still waiting, and have been left high and dry by your staff who demonstrated no concern for the failure in service. I am also pretty put out that Calumet has emailed me for a review before my purchase has arrived. Well I feel extremely annoyed and would appreciate someone in management to call me about this issue. My order no is: W-00026990-UK

I ordered a Nikon D810 online. Authorization with Worldpay went through OK and I received a confirmation email from Calumet. I received another email from Calumet later in the day. The email was very unprofessional looking; it was a forward of the earlier confirmation email, in it, the writer did not use my name, just started it with 'Hi', they then asked that I send them scanned copies of photo ID and proof of address!! The email was not signed, it just had 2 initials and no signature block. I rang Calumet and expressed my concern to their operative; she said that they were a reputable company with a London address, she asked if I would be happier sending the requested documentation to her email address. I declined and asked for the order to be cancelled. I have never before been asked to send copies of very personal data in such a way. I have bought many expensive items over the internet and this was a first. Calumet had already taken payment and it took 4 days for their refund to show up on my credit card account. It would be very easy to create a phoney driving licence and proof of address to be sent in an email, so I don't see what Calumet would gain by having them. I personally would never use the company again.

This transaction started i year ago. I needed a replacement battery for a CANON HDV10801. I paid 60pounds up front. The wrong battery came in. I was transferred from the shop staff to a young lady in a room somewhere. She promised to research and call me back. She failed to so I called her 3 more times. No battery. I asked for my money to be returned and she said the store policy was to start an account and I could spend the money in the shop. I finally arrived back in the UK and went to the Drummond Street Branch. An account was there in my name - but zero money was in it. The guy who helped me said it seemed unusual for the woman to refuse to return my money. One has to balance time against principals - but I think I will have to retrieve emails from my archives and take action in Petty Claims Court. Moral: Be careful who you giv your money to!

The level of service from Calumet is appalling, nobody follows up calls or return calls when they say they will, even when you raise your concerns with a customer service manager and they promise a return call. On another note, I have purchased three Calumet bags over the last three years, all of which have broken zips, which are not covered under warranty. This was now the last time I will buy online with Calumet (I may still visit my local branch) but for sure it's the last time I'll purchase a Calumet branded product.

Calumet Photographic in Edinburgh probably provided the worst purchasing experience I have ever had. No updates when promised, item was not delivered on delivery date given at purchase time. Constantly given wrong information, no return calls unless I chased this up with the store. Initially the delivery date was before Christmas but after being assured that this would happen I was informed that my lens would not be delivered until after the New Year. Finally the order was cancelled. This was frustrating as the lens was required for a trip abroad just after the New Year. I will never use Calumet Photographic again and will not recommend them to anyone.

I phoned on Friday, ordered a part and was told it would be in store on Tuesday and I would get a call when I could collect it. I didn't get a call so called the store on Wednesday and was told it hadn't been ordered. I said I had a client coming the next day and needed it for a particular shot. I was told it would be couriered to me before nine am. It didn't arrive so at 9.30am I wrote an email of complaint. I was contacted saying it would be ordered then and couriered to me by nine the next day (a day too late!). I was also told I would be called to arrange a refund. I haven't been called. I use Calumet because they work with pros and understand schedules. I am now looking for an alternate su

I bought a filter from you and attack a very long time to arrive. When it did finally arrive it was the wrong size. I now have to wait another two weeks after waiting for almost a month initially.

I ordered two products over a month ago and they still haven't arrived. I tracked my order and one was shipped a couple days ago and the other product has no details at all on it. Maybe I'll recieve that one by 2016. Won't be ordering online with calumet again.

Some time in Early December I ordered 2 lots of Kodak D-76 Developer powder 3.8 litre size, possibly on special offer with free delivery. I was contacted by telephone some time after this and told that delivery would be delayed because of the collapse of CityLink courriers and time would be needed to find another courrier. I was given the option of cancelling the order but decided to keep it active. On 21/01/15 I received one package of D-76 developer, not 2 as I'd originally ordered and was charged £5.83 for hazardous product delivery. Even if the standard delivery charge applied, quoted as £4.99 on the Calumet website at present, I've still been charged too much and have received only half the goods I ordered in the first place. This has made ordering the item most uneconomical and I'm therefore requesting a refund for the carriage charge.

I used the Glasgow store on few occasions after a recommendation by a friend , staff have been happy to take my money and give advice. I went in today to return a faulty trigger and buy a secondhand D700 and had a very poor experience . The staff member was condescending from the point he released it was a return and not a sale. I had told him the exact problem being the off and on switch did not work and the trigger would on occasion keep the shutter open till disconnected . His answer was they had a memo from the manufacturer the off and on switches don't work and you need to take the batteries out. The real high point was he only wanted to replace one trigger from a set despite me telling him the fault had cost me work after an exchange of words he replaced the faulty items. Needless to say I've ordered my camera else's where .
