“I wanted to find a one owner Tahoe that fit my budget. By using the selective process that Carfax provides, I was able to look at several one owner Tahoe's online and chose the one I wanted. I then worked online with the dealer to negotiate the price. The final step was to go on-site and finish the deal. Since the vehicle was 40 miles from my home, I was not interested in trying to negotiate the price while on-site. After a test drive, I had a couple of things I wanted done before taking ownership and was able to come back one more time after the dealer was done. The ability to select parameters such as model and price and one-owner was helpful.”

“The dealer carfax was useless; AFTER I had purchased the vehicle, I had to pay your price to get a history that included 2 owners and at least 1 accident, for which the PA DMV could give me no information on the extent of damage, etc. I'm not (so far) having any issues, but info like whether the frame(?) was damaged would be helpful.”

“It is surprising how many dishonest car sellers are out there. Twice in the past 3 months I have found the car that fits my criteria only....well, looked like it fit my criteria. In both cased the miles were under reported by well over 100,000 and one had been in a serious collision with major damage....it was listed as "clean", but it was actually a salvage. The money spent on CarFax reports saved me thousands in bad car purchases.”

“I had been lookng for a first car everywhere, even if it meant going on a long drive. So i finally found a 1995 acura integra 4 hours away. The title said clean, so i was ready to go we set out on the trip. At that time i decided carfax was something i should really get into since im going to be looking at a lot of cars. Come to find out the acura had been in a bad collision and was considered salvage. 20 minutes in the trip we went home. Im very lucky to have gotten CARFAX its been very helpful ever since.”

“I love carfax cuz it help me get my dream car that I talk with my dream and it saved me thousands of dollars left on that it was a flood vehicle even the owner that so the card is no filter for the vehicle so I recommend everybody anybody to check the CARFAX before you buy a car trunk SUV”

“I a I was looking for a Lincoln Town Car for a while. Found a great deal with low mileage and a very clean CarFax, I bought it a a great price and at a reputable dealership. CARFAX took the worry out of the purchase as a number of those on sale turned out to be dogs after reviewing the reports. CarFax is well worth anything else that is available. Love the Town Car.”

“Very glad I checked the CarFax before buying my vehicle, discovered that the car I was about to buy had been in the shop for lots of issues not said by the other. Always get a CarFax before buying a used car.”

“I was looking for a good used car for my 17 yr old son on craigslist and you wouldn't believe how many scammers there are. Lot of cars have salvage title or rebuilt and with car fax I could tell how many owners there where and for how long they had the car for. About 50% of cars for sale by owner was wanna be used car sales hustler listed "for sale by owners" When I question them using car fax data they either hung up or made stupid excuses like: Oh its by girlfriends car or im just selling it for a friend. CarFax data if used right is a powerful tool to weed out the good cars from the bad”

“I spent 2 months looking for the right vehicle. Carfax helped me weed out the good from the bad, and find the truth when faced with sellers that tend to "stretch" the about the condition and history of the vehicle. Carfax saved me from making bac choices in vehicles and led me to finding the the clean, reliable vehicle I was looking for. Thanks Carfax!”

“We live in Arizona were looking to purchase a 2014 Ford Fusion. We found one for sale by owner on Craigslist. When we called and asked about the car, why such low mileage, why are you selling soon, we were given a sad story of getting a divorce and the car we just purchased must go. A tale of how much they loved the car, how great a car it was and how they really hated to sell it. Feeling bad that anyone has to experience divorce, yet convinced this was a legitimate story, we were excited to go investigate purchasing this. So excited we brought a check, transferring money, to leave a deposit. Upon arriving, the car was immaculate. perfect condition and fully loaded. And at an excellent price to boot. Runs perfect and clean like new. So I write down the VIN number while my wife is talking with the owner and log into CarFax to run the report. Well, low and behold, the vehicle was a lease and recently, 2 months ago, purchased at auction. And this "owner" was not even registered yet. But wait it gets even better. The CarFax report shows a rear end accident while registered to the rental agency in California. Mind you we are in Arizona. OK, not only an accident, but now I look real close and it doesn't even have the correct rear bumper on it. and it is out of alignment with the rear fenders. And of course our seller is now speechless. Claims to not have been aware of any of this. Shocked. We said our goodbyes and I emailed him a copy of the report. Perhaps he can tell the truth to the next buyer. THANK YOU very much CARFAX!!!!!!!!!”

“I had been looking for an older model ML 63 AMG for 5 years. Several had come through but they were newer ones that were too expensive or older ones with too many miles. Then last June a 2007 popped up in one of the many "auto" search engines I was using. It was a 2007 with only 28,000 miles on it. So I pulled a Carfax on it and everything checked out as the first owner had only put about 5,000 miles on it in 6 years then they traded it. Appeared to be a 2nd car they kept at their vacation home. I bought the car sight unseen and had it delivered. Carfax had me make the perfect choice!”

“CARFAX saved me from a major mistake and helped me find a good deal. I was at a reputable/large dealership ready to buy a car when I pulled the CARFAX, the report showed that the mileage on the odometer did not match with what was reported by the DMV. Needless to say I walked away from that 'deal'. The good deal came from a car that was priced great the CARFAX report validated everything the seller told me about the car and I purchased it with hesitation. That car has been a great little car for my son.”

“I was buying a car for my son and needed information on a 1999 Cherokee. Car Fax had all the information on the first owner and the owner selling the truck to us. The detail waa amazing and the guy who sold us the car was great as well. He offered to show us the carfax, which meant he was confident that the car maintenance was detailed in car fax. Car fax is a great service. I would recommend highly.”

“I was looking to purchase a 2009 Prius off Ebay motors. Since the car was fairly local I decided to look at it before I purchased it. I ran a carfax on it and found it was in a rear end collision which the report showed disabled the vehicle. I still went and inspected the car. It was fixed very professionally and had no issues since being repaired. However because of knowing this, the seller reduced the price substantially. I bought the car and am very happy with the purchase. It saved me quite a bit of money.”
