Booked a car for London Luton for 6 days, paid in advance, arrived on time, submitted all the documents and... the problems began. I didn't have a credit card in my name to secure the deposit of 1500 pounds. I did have a debit card and my wife had a credit card. Both could have been used to secure the deposit.
Utter rigidity - there's no way to rent the car without presenting the credit card in the driver's name. Just to be clear Drivalia FAQs say that you need: A credit/debit card in the driver’s name. T&Cs are quite abstruse and the personnel was trying to explain that I am not reading it right...
Called Drivalia, the advise was to rent the car again in my wife's name with a clear warning that I won't get the money back for the initial booking.
Called CarJet, the advice was to pay the full insurance ~350 pounds. BTW. you can pay for the insurance with the debit card, no problem... There's no way to reassign the rental to my wife again I could make another rental in her name.
In the end I took an Uber.
Filed a complaint to CarJet, asking for at least a partial refund, after all I wanted the car for 6 days and I didn't take it at all. They provided a boilerplate reply to the first e-mail and didn't even bother replying again. It didn't stop them from sending me marketing stuff I've never subscribed to.
So I ended up 136 pounds short and paid another 100 for an Uber.
I honestly believe that this matter could have been settled agreably and with some good will at CarJet or Drivalia (or both) we could have found a solution.
I'll never use the dubious services of these companies again and the only thing I can do right now it to warn others not to do so.”

“Awful experience in Dubrovnik. Rang them to say that we would be late as the flight had changed. They told that there was a 2.5 hour policy that they couldn't change. They said ring them in one hour....then said no and they will cancel it. He then hung up on me. They are getting a lot of money for free!! Disgraceful.”

I booked a 1 day car hire through CarJet and received a confirmation to collect the car at 8am from Eurocar (my requested time to collect as I had a long journey with a planned meeting at the other end). I arrived at Eurocar and was bluntly informed that I could not collect the car (or any car) until 11am (so i missed my meeting!). I called CarJet to see if they could do something. They told me to speak with Eurocar as 'they had received confirmation.' of this amended time I spoke to Eurocar in person and they pointed me back to CarJet as they had 'messaged Carjet with this information and my agreement was with them.' I went back to Carjet and they were just as unhelpful as before. Long story short I could not collect the car until 11am. The car I was given was a wreck; dents, stained inside and included a slow tyre puncture which i had to re-inflate on the motorway due to loss of tyre pressure!! I'm sure must be illegal). I complained to CarJet after this experience and they stated - 'Eurocar has no compensation mechanism for this' - I stated that my agreement was with them (CarJet) and I wanted compensation from them. They can try for company to company compensation if they wanted separately. Since then I've been ghosted - I've followed up 3 times and no response at all. Awful awful service and experience”
“Terrible experience in Antalya, Turkey.
1) In CarJet website, says the car woud be collected in the airport. It is not. I received a mail some days ahead of collection that someone would drive us to get the car.
2) I received a whatsapp message that a representative would be waiting for us in the arrival. It took 30min and 2 phone calls for someone to arrive.
3) We were 5 people, and they offered me a car with 4 seat belts. They said that Turkish police doesn't control.
4) Then they offered me a car that read door doesn't open from inside.
5) Then my credit cards didn't work in the machine. It was midnight! They have not accepted my mother's credit card. I was left back in the airport middle of the night with family and 2 kids.
6) The paid 60 euros is not yet reimbursed.
7) There is no way to contact CarJet thru the website. No e-mail, no phone number.
8) In the website they stated 4,1 from 5 points from 8000 reviews. Here it is 1,1 from 800 reviews.

The company was unapologetic and don’t care. “I booked a car with carjet in Madeira.
I was given the final price and pour a deposit online. On arrival at the offices of “Way2Madeira” they told us that we had to pay another 40 euros. The local company insisted that this was a charge levied by Carjet to cover the cost of the shuttle bus to the car rental place. A distance of approximately 2 km.
I sent an email to Carjet but ofcourse they did not reply.
DO NOT get scammed by this company and book elsewhere.”

“We wished we had visited Trust Pilot before booking with CarJet! Like many others we booked and paid online for 5 days car hire (201 euro). We had insurance for the excess... but on pick up at Tivat Airport, Montenegro were told we had to buy Budget/ Avis insurance (246 euro!). This was more than the cost of the 5 day car hire!! So we paid more than double for our rental. We had no choice but to pay or lose our 201 already paid and have no car. We have emailed carjet with no response whatsoever. Their booking site was completely misleading and we are gutted to have lost so much money!”
