annoying additional extras to consider - not made aware of the final price

The sales person spoke way to fast and was too obviously on a sales pitch script. I never felt comfortable or really informed through out the whole call. I felt the speed talking was to discourage questions and also presumably to get the call done and the sale made. The "add ons" seemed endless and again I was never really sure what they were about because of the speed. All round it felt like hard sell spivery. Also I had called an different number and the person I spoke to was only interested in "the review" I should give so here it is. Its also very odd that a company called One Call Insurance doesn't have a phone number on their Website. I needed to get the first number from the live chat feature.

Spent 25 mins waiting, naturally put the phone on loud speaker whilst i go about my business. Phone is eventually answered call taker literally said 'hello' 3 times and then hung up. Did not give sufficient time, very poor service. Then followed a further 25 minute wait, although this time the female thankfully had a little more patience. On line chat was down

For starters being hounded with emails and calls since the policy started (literally 2 days ago) I've now uploaded my driving licence twice and when I log into the portal it's asking me for them AGAIN. I've been called today and told my excess is £600 which is absolutely not what I set it at on the price comparison website. I've then been 'sold' an ancillary to reduce my excess & the agent kept reiterating something about a courtesy car - which I paid extra for the benefit initially! My first impression of you as an insurer is poor to say the least. I am employed as a senior claims negotiator for Admiral Insurance and whilst you were slightly cheaper than me taking insurance through work, by the time you've tried to add on an additional £10.64 for reducing my excess I would have been better off going with work! I would also like to point out that you weren't the cheapest on the price comparison website but I went with you due to your almost 5 star rating. When I asked about cancelling the Policy I was told I would not only have to pay the £63 deposit (which I've already paid) but £50 odd cancellation fee PLUS 2 days worth of cover. So in total to cancel today for 2 days worth of cover I would be looking at almost £150?? The agent then went to ask a manager if they could reduce the fee down to £6.72 per month extra for the reduction in excess so I'm still not really any better off. To top it all off I found the agent rude, unempathetic & repetitive - clearly only interested in selling me the ancillary!!! all in all I am sorry I insured with you now to be truthful . let's hope I never actually need you for a claim as one can only imagine how poor the service is.

You sent a threatening letter stating that my car insurance would be canceled on 9th Dec if I did not provide driving license details reqested And that this was final notice. Had I been away on holiday this would have caused me a significant problem. You already had my drivers licence information when I set up the cover in October. Having just arranged home insurance with you, I hope I don't get another letter of this sort. Please confirm that you have all necessary information.

Don't seem to value existing repeat customers.

Disappointed that One Call wants to squeeze every penny out of me, even if it's just a pound or two. I would have been cheaper paying a cancellation fee and going to another provider, which I will be doing when this policy is finished.

I can not understand how I can be charged £52 administration fee for cancelling a policy. How difficult can it be to push a few keys on a keyboard to cancel a policy. I have never made a claim with your company but you certainly had your pound of flesh. I will never use your company again.

The person I spoke to didn’t have a very nice phone manner, I felt like he wasn’t very interested to take my call or be helpful to me

been with you for 9 or 10 yrs and went for a new car, you tell me that the insurance for this would be £44 a month, yet on go compare it was £33 a month, and that is with someone else, so I got another insurance with everything that I had with you at a price of £28 a month, so Im going with that,

Waiting for an agent to be free was far too long.

In spite of being a loyal customer over several years for my car insurance and recommending your company to others, I could not get a competitive quote to renew my car insurance and was therefore obliged to accept a significantly lower (over 30%),alternative from a competitor. To add insult to injury, my refund was drastically reduced by the penalty fees which it then attracted. The only satisfactory part was when I spoke later to your operative JA9, who expedited my refund very efficiently. I will not be recommending One Call in the future.

Kept on hold quite often - and the young woman spoke too quickly and indistinctly. Couldn't just update card details as I wished to - had to pay in order to do so. Not a good experience all told.

When trying to change my bike insurance over to a new bike one month before the end of my policy I was asked to pay £39 for “administration frees” then as a goodwill gesture they where only going to charge me £19 (which was nice but could have been offered in the first place rather than me asking) then this didn’t go through as they informed me they where unable to cover me on the new bike and advised me to call… so I did. Only to be told they wanted to offer me a new policy for well over a £1000 (who would pay this! haha) so I had no choice but the cancel my insurance with OneCall and then I was told yet there was ANOTHER free! £43.22. So I lost my second years no claims. Thumbs up!
