The site was purchased from a couple of times, years ago, as my dad wanted something from them and doesn't have access to the internet. Recently, believing that my account previously set up with them would still be active, an order was placed for two second hand glasses. Difficulty was experienced with logging in, with the website claiming that my log in details were not correct, so an account was registered with them, when a password reminder request resulted in the website claiming that my email account was unrecognized. Shortly after the order was placed, an email was received from ebay saying that my account had been suspended due to 'serious security concerns' (me having trouble logging in) and it would not be possible to re-register for an account. The energy of that email was very bad and made me feel that ebay was suspecting me of behaving inappropriately. When the glasses were delivered, they were very scratched and in a very poor condition. This was not described on the website and the scratches were not visible in the photograph. Due to not being able to log in to my account, the seller could not be contacted. When ebay's help page was looked at, it just invited me to 'log in for further help'. The order had actually been checked out as a guest on ebay, due to the problems with logging in and according to ebay's website, there should have been an access code in the confirmation email that was sent to me when placing the order, which would have allowed me to log in to see the order that was placed and, presumably, contact the seller with regard to the condition of the items that were delivered. There was no access code in the email, just a transaction ID and item ID. The glasses were returned to the return address that came on the outside of the parcel, with a handwritten note explaining why the seller hadn't been contacted prior to returning the items. It remains to be seen whether a refund will be forthcoming. My experience of shopping on ebay has been one of hassle, being accused of inappropriate behaviour (which was a very unhappy experience for me) and of not receiving the help, support or service that was needed. There were no contact details on ebay's website for me to email or telephone them; the only way to receive assistance, it seems, is to log into your account with them - they don't seem to have considered the possibility of someone needing assistance who can't log into their account or who doesn't have an account with them. If you're not already an avid ebay fan, they would definitely not be recommended for their shopping experience. Amazon has been shopped at for years and their customer service has generally been much better. Etsy, more recently has been shopped at, with no serious difficulties so far, so there are definitely better alternatives than ebay.

IF YOU ARE A BUYER YOU SHOULD BEWARE THE EBAY RESOLUTION CENTRE. Despite the fact that EBAY where informed that I didn't receive the item I have paid for, the tracking number supplied by the vendor is not recognised by the carrier, and the item is not where the vendor claims it is, EBAY DECIDED I AM NOT DUE A REFUND .

I bought a telephone from Insdec on ebay. After lots of problems I contacted this seller. 3 messages were ignored. These were confirmed by eBay as having been delivered to the seller (no technical problems). I then approached the manufacturer. They confirmed their telephones are made for specific countries. The phone sold to me in Australia was not listed as being specifically for the European market. The serial number suggested Poland as the target market. Please check ebay. Insdec, at the time of writing, has a 98.9% positive feedback score. Yet they sell a lot of products. The problem comes when there's a complaint. 5 buyers in the last month alone report messages being ignored. The company also trades as Inkoo.co.uk.

Vile. Removed the negative feedback I left of a seller who sent the wrong item and denied it, then got me pay for postage and said they'd refund no problem (pblinens). I took pictures of evidence (even when they said I tore apart packaging so barcode couldn't be read (I had proof this was nonsense because I took a picture of the packaging). They care only about revenue and will do their upmost to protect the most dodgy sellers if they know they're making a good revenue for ebay. I highlighted ebays own policies to them (that even if buyer is made to pay own postage, if the item is not as described or faulty, the seller is responsible for returns costs). Beware. I will be writing to Ireland - EBay Customer Service, P.O. Box 9473, Dublin 15, Ireland to highlight the incompetent responses I've had and the downright preposterousness of the protection of a seller who blatantly lies and deceives. All they have done is told me to communicate to the seller when I've repeatedly had to resort to telling them that the seller avoids my queries, responds with hostility (referring to me as a 'troubled aggressive and hostile person to divert from refunding me the full amount promised).I keep pleasing with them to send the seller a message because communication with the seller is not an option and resorts to self-defence and avoidance) but ebay do not get involved, even when I've provided all the evidence (and the seller provided none to defend their own position). I suggest anyone who experiences poor customer service with ebay does that little bit extra and takes the same action, because this will only get worse and your buyer protection will mean even less for you and every other poor unsuspecting buyer who gets conned.

They don't seem to care about sellers even though it's what makes ebay work in the first place.

Took the same £50 payment from my paypal account twice, admitted it but said as I didn't spot it within 30 days they wouldn't give it back. Got to admire the nerve, lets see what the police have to say about it!!

Make sure you use a reputable seller because the eBay guarantee is worthless, you'll get very little help from them if you have a problem with one of their sellers. I bought a caravan awning for £449, when it arrived it was damaged, it had a hole in the roof panel and a corresponding hole in the bag in which it came. I've been trying to return it since 19 Jun (15 days), I've offered 5 days when it could be collected. I've stayed in for these 5 days just in case. The seller is trying to get the manufacturer to pick it up, the manufacturer has made no contact whatsoever. Ebay are supposed to be sorting it out for me but are just making the situation worse.

I originally ordered 6 cans White Grease on 18th April- advertised for £18.99 inc delivery. Shortly after that I received a call from them saying I would have to pay an extra £10 for postage. I advised that even second class postage to my address in Aberdeen-shire was only £4.55. They were not prepared to accept this and I cancelled the order with Pay pal and was duly refunded my £18.99. On 31st May I saw and ordered (via e-bay) another 6 cans of identical grease on e-bay for £17.09 with next day delivery included- I did not realise at the time that it was the same supplier: On the 3rd June I e-mailed eBay to advise (re #5138502352) that the product had not arrived. On the 5th June I received an e-mail from eBay with an attachment from 'the seller' (Lubriagecarparts) implying there seemed to be problems with payments from pay-pal- but basically it was badly written 'gobbledygook'; I then had to contact pay pal saying that they would address the problem- However I AM STILL AWAITING DELIVERY 9/6/17

They described the product properly and listed the product properly and with much more concise information about what I am actually buying. What a great experience. Totally the opposite to euro car aparts. Ie yourselves
