Comments sent to Mr Watt, CEO on 29th September 2015 responses received from Mike Barton 30th September 2015 Dear Mr Watt I am writing to you to provide direct feedback about the Executive Lounge at Terminal 5 Heathrow Airport. (see booking details in attached email). Having visited your website I noted that :- Swissport is recognized as the benchmark in terms of value for money, customer dedication, and cost management. The company has established a global reputation for being a valued business partner, not only because of its financial resources and modern ground support equipment, but also due to its intangible assets, particularly management expertise and a brand name that stands for superior quality. Appreciate the aspiration of the company but I do not believe that the Executive Lounge, Heathrow Terminal 5 provides such a service especially value for money or quality service as evidenced by my recent experience of having spent £105 for my wife, son and myself to visit it on Sunday 27th September. Having just flown in from New York we had a delay on our next flight home to our local airport Edinburgh I thought it would be relaxing to go to the lounge prior to the flight and pre booked in advance. Firstly, value for money - since with most airlines you are unable to check in before 3 hours before the flight departure and BA staff were enforcing this and so we waited till the designated time 12.30pm to book in. Then with the delays in security due to the volume of passengers meant it was nearer 1pm before we arrived kun the lounge. Secondly, due to the location of our plane departure gate at A1 we had to leave the lounge half an hour before hand at 3pm. Therefore, the allocated 3 hours became only 2 hours. I would suggest to you that your terms are misleading regarding the booking form and no way can anyone achieve 3 hours unless they are a transferring passenger or flight delayed. Thirdly, the lounge is not particularly large and the upstairs had been closed therefore due to the number of passengers using the lounge it was very crowded. As behaviour dictates people maximise space around them and therefore we were unable to sit together as a family due to the lack of seats initially. The pods were not available and the more comfortable arm chair seating were taken and the remaining seating is not that comfortable. Fourthly, presentation and lack of choice of the snacks in comparison with other providers was noticeably inferior and not 'quality'. I noted that the bar was attended by a member of staff to presumably limit intake by passengers? I did not use this service due to driving once in Edinburgh. Fifthly, no newspapers or magazine were available to peruse. Sixth, number of staff on duty appeared to be limited - tables not cleared and food replenished in a timely manner. Seventh, only one departure board at the entrance was working. And finally the ambiance - it lacked being a quality relaxing environment for £105 for 2 hours ! Trust you find the comments constructive and of value to you and I would welcome any comments you may have. Yours sincerely, Robert Parry

The longe itself was just ok with food and drinks available however staff have no Custer service skills and were extremely unhelpful in assisting us. I needed wheelchair assistance to get through gatwick and when the wheelchair didn't turn up we had to ask at least six times if it was on its way even with our gate detailed as' closed' we kept getting fobbed off rather than staff taking the time to look into it for us! Eventually someone took us seriously enough to look into it and we were the last people on the plane! I would never use this lounge again and certainly would not recommend it.

I am a regular user of Aspire Lounges but this was the first time I had used the Bristol Lounge and probably will be the last.Im not sure if it was busier than normal so the staff couldn't cope or this maybe this is always the case.I usually find the lounges spacious and plenty of room to choose seating but on this occasion a member of staff asked a seated customer to move so that our group could sit,he wasn't very happy and was quite vocal of the fact. The tables were dirty and cluttered and the staff slow to clear away. The available food was minimal and the soup tureen empty, warm beers in fridge and hardly any choice.I had one drink and a cube of cheese with a biscuit, certainly a waste of £20.Im about to book a Gatwick Lounge for January but the Bristol experience has now put me off.Gatwick lounge has always been clean with plenty of choice on food and beverages..Is Bristol always like this or was I just unlucky?

Very cramped, very poor layout and virtually no seats available for our time of booking. We shall not be using it again.

I was very disappointed with the lounge on our recent visit. We book it for quiet and a chance to read the newspapers. On this occasion 2 members of staff were chatting and telling each other jokes and laughing very loudly for our whole stay. This happened on reception and even more so in the kitchen area. Also one man was having a very loud and long conversation on his phone. Several other visitors were also bothered by him. Should'nt it be like a quiet railway carriage? I really don't mind chatter and people enjoying themselves but this was very intrusive.

Overcrowded, tables not cleared when people left for a while and no ice!!! Used to be much better, does not warrant £20 fee.

We were looking for somewhere comfortable and relaxing to spend a couple of hours before leaving to board our flight (there is no way you can stay the full 3 hours for which the lounge is booked since you can't enter the lounge more than 3 hours before your flight is due to actually depart). The lounge was already over-full when we arrived and we spent 90 minutes on uncomfortable bench seats rather than the comfy armchairs we had expected. The food selection was poor and had little flavour. Compared with other lounges this was poor value for money. We won't be going to this lounge again.

Extremely crowded - managed to find the last two seats ! Bacon sandwiches had been in the warming oven too long (drying out) and there was only a tiny piece of bacon in each. Disappointing; wonder whether it is worth the expense .

It was too small for the number of people usint it when we were. The lounge had been squeezed into a very odd and awkward shaped space and was clearly not planned when the biulding was erected.

We visited on January 2015 found the lounge to be fully stocked at all times for a morning flight. We arrived again sept 2015 for a afternoon flight the lounge was no busier than January. The difference was this time we obtained one what we think was egg mini roll each , within two hours all that was available was soup which I don't eat . And all the usual drink etc.. Disappointed we wouldn't return again . we would take our chance in the terminal and spend less money.

The first impression is tatty; dirty and old carpets and furniture and tables that needed clearing and cleaning. The choice of drinks available was acceptable, but there were very limited snacks and food available. The staff were helpful, but overall the lounge urgently needs a refurbishment.

We paid for an executive service , what we got at Birmingham was a shabby area , (the furniture was worn and tired and the area was generally not clean) which was very busy , the fact that it was busy did not puty me off , alot of people were looking for (as we were) something extra , however the staff looked overworked and overstretched. Overall a dissappointing experience that wasn,t upto the extra cost, having experienced a few 'executive' levels of service my view is that they are out of touch with today i.e. they a re living in a past were a few are able to afford the service , today actually many people are able to afford the service and are expecting a higher standard than they are experiencing

I was travelling with my elderly mother so booked the lounge on line in good time to avoid queuing for seats and refreshements. Unfortunately on arrival at the lounge at our allotted time I was informed that the lounge was full to capacity and there were no seats !! You can imagine I wasn't very happy as this had been pre-booked at a cost of £38.00 . The lady on the desk was very helpful and she did find us two seats although we were crammed into a corner on someone else's table. No one left during the time we were there so we were unable to move to be more comfortable for the rest of our stay. Also because it was so busy the food was in short supply, we eventually got some soup and bread after a long wait and trying to get a drink at the bar took over 20 minutes which is not ideal when catching a flight. So overall I was very disappointed with my visit and will think twice about booking again.

Very disappointed at the lack of seating capacity in the lounge.....50% of lounge seating was reserved for Singapore Airlines........This despite the fact that there is also another reserved lounge within the main lounge....Why was there the need to reserve further seats. The lounge was full to capacity for normal users and the reserved Singapore Airlines section(s) had only approx. 5 passengers seated....SHOCKING I was in a family of 6 who could not sit near each other...when there were seats vacant...for my entire visit. First time into Executive Lounges.....and most probably my last...

We were disappointed at the poor selection of food available. We had planned to eat here before our flight but the lack of options meant we had to resort to eating Ryanair food on our 4 hour flight (not good at all). We were also disappointed at the lack of music and newspapers / magazines. We felt it was a waste of money.
