In brief: Food selection very poor and of only average quality. Lack of staff to serve meant waiting for drinks. Air conditioning not working on very hot day, so lots of unpleasant sweating. Wi-Fi did not work whilst we were there and lounge was generally untidy and not overly clean. Only saving grace was sitting in a room away from travellers with screaming kids. Not likely to want to repeat if this is the level of quality and service provided. £25.99 is far too much. Based on my experience I would cost your service at £10-15.

It was so overbooked we couldn't sit anywhere. The bar had run out of anything that wasn't wine or spirits. They had no beer left, aside from some warm bottles of fosters. The food was dire. There were no cakes, the pasta and soup were cold and the salad bar was laughable. The bar staff were also rude and very aggressive to customers who expressed their disappointment in the poor selection of drinks on offer. One customer who said he was disappointed had a bald headed barman shout back at him "its not our fault is it"! At least 3 of us had to intervene and say the customer wasn't having a go and that the barmans response was out of order. In the end we stayed for an hour before giving in and going to departures and paying for drinks in a bar there. I feel tremendously ripped off, I paid nearly £50 for my partner and I to visit the aspire lounge. All this got us was a small side salad each, a Guinness (before they ran out) a small glass of the most acidic rose wine I've ever had and 2 warm bottles of fosters, which, let's face it, isn't exactly a drink most people would choose to drink. Wasn't worth the money at all, I will be making a formal complaint and will also be taking this up with the ombudsmen, as, under the sale of goods act, I do feel this lounge was miss-sold to me.

We have used this lounge 2 times in the last 12 months on bith occasions to be told that the food supply had not been ordered correctly so there would only be soup and cheese and biscuits to choose from, they only had a certain amount of alcohol left and hardly any spirits, we definitely wont be using the lounges again as the £49 it cost is most definitely not worth it especially when both times the same excuse was given.

The setting was nice and there was free-flowing beverages. That was about all there was to be happy about! The negative points far outweighed the positive as far as I was concerned. There was no decent food, the snack box which was advertised at booking was unavailable and instead there was this god-awful slop which was billed as Thai Green Curry! The curry part had a lesser consistency than water and the rice was hard and undercooked. It actually looked as though the people who paid less for next door got the better deal as they had a buffet to choose from. The so-called double snooze pods were being taken up by inconsiderate singles who wouldn't move because they wanted the extra room. And lastly....... the 'free' wifi was virtually non-existent and you just couldn't get a stable connection. I wish I'd saved my money and bought more aftershave upstairs in duty free!!!! Never again!!

THE ASPIRE PLUS LOUNGE IN NEWCASTLE AIRPORT ALWAYS HAS THE AIR CONDITIONING ON FAR TOO HIGH. WE HAVE USED THE LOUNGE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THIS TO BE THE CASE. THIS COMPLETELY SPOILED WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. CAN YOU RECTIFY THIS? OR NOT?

This is the worst airport lounge visited. No on site toilet facilities. Not advertised. A fundamental requirement. Very cramped corridor effect for collecting food which was frequently unavailable with nowhere to stand and wait. A very disjointed effect with seating with a no flow effect. In our opinion it would have been more comfortable to use the catering facilities just outside where the "toilets" were situated. A definite waste of money. Will not be using or recommending to any family or friends in the future.

The standard of bathrooms was terrible, no toilet roll and generally quite unclean. Also only one cubicle - the washrooms on the general terminal near the gates was much nicer and more spacious. It felt like the space was overbooked. While there was no line for food and the food looked pretty decent, there was limited comfortable seating and the drinks fridges were pretty bare only to be refilled an hour after we arrived.

I completed a review of the lounge on our return from our holidays but that was before I realised I had my credit card debited twice by Swissair with the same reference number on the 7th June and my wife and myself had only visited the lounge once on the 10th June, 2017. I sent an email requesting a refund on 22nd June and despite receiving an acknowledgement the same day I have heard nothing further and no refund has been received. I sent another email this morning which has not even been acknowledged

Very noisy group of drunk men in the lounge. Staff were unwilling to do anything about the issue despite many other people complaining and asking for something to be done. After one hour we were told the group had been given two warnings, but nothing was done as the nuisance continued for another hour. We were in for two and a half hours and the first two hours were spoiled because of the rowdy behaviour.

Poor service...only 1 member of staff seemed to know what to do...the rest just kept refering to him...they were not trained to the level you would expect for this level of venue Tables dirty and uncleared...had to clear a space for ourselves to sit at Food very poor and not what was advertised As it wss a birthday treat for my wife i was extremely disapointed as was she I would say that it needs a total staff clean out and then employ the correct caliber with someone with authority to run it....very..very poor

Food was rubbish just pasta and ham with some not so nice buns was over full very bad experience to be honest would not bother using it again waste of money which was a lot has we were a party of eight with two children nothing for them to eat ended up having to take them to Burger King has they were hungry so the money we thought we would save by using the lounge got spent

The croissants and Welsh cakes were stale, went to get a banana and there were none available. You now have to request a drink and as I am a nervous flyer I usually have a double vodka with orange but felt frowned upon going to have to ask for one. The amount of vodka poured was only a thimble full, no measures were used. We have used the lounge before and have always been very satisfied but will not be using it again. I felt we certainly didn't have value for money. Maybe some people have abused the free access to alcohol but not fair that others a penalised for this. Very very disappointed

With the exception of the receptionist, the staff were ignorant and couldn't care less. The 'food' available was both hideous and limited. The only hot food on offer was soup. On the buffet cart was :- a desert bowl of cherry tomatoes (approx 8) A dessert bowl of cucumber slices (approx 8) A bowl of egg mayonnaise. (Perhaps the only edible thing) 2 bowls of mayonnaise slop that even the staff didn't know what it was. 2 bowls of some sort of dry pasta salad 1 bowl with a couple of wilted lettuces leaves in. Not good, especially the slop that wasn't labelled as we had a vegetarian and a prawn allergy sufferer with us. So I guess we were expected to assemble our own egg mayo sandwiches balances on a tiny side plate, because that's all that was available to! There was also no lemon or lime available for drinks and ice seemed in short supply! My regret is that I didn't take a photo to show you how bad it all was. I did complain at the reception and pick up the complaint to number and will be following this through. Great views but very bad start to holiday.

I book the airport lounge so I can have reliable wifi in a peaceful environment so I was most upset to discover the wifi wasn't working and had been "down for a couple of days." I wasn't informed of this at time of booking nor was I informed of this on entering the lounge. I had to seek out a member of staff who before I even spoke said - "is it the wifi? Yeah we're waiting for someone to look at it, it's been down a couple of days." I complained through your online chat who advised me to email my conplaint, which I did. I have yet to get a response.
