I wasn’t happy with my policy automatically renewing and I don’t recall getting the reminder I was supposed to.

Good morning, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Around 30 days prior to the expiry date of your policy we send out your renewal invite. This correspondence states your renewal price, cover, how to opt out, etc. If your policy is due to auto renew you don't need to do anything further which is why your policy would have auto-renewed. I have checked your account and can see this renewal invite was in fact sent to the registered email address on your account. If there is anything else we can help with please do not hesitate to get back in touch via 0330 0600 632 or you can email us on ask@policyexpert.co.uk Thanks, Georgie

I am happy with the renewal price, and had all but made my decision to stay another year. My mind was finally made up by receiving an e-mail on 20/11 saying the premium due 25/11 was in the process of being taken from my card. Next renewal I will make a point of looking elsewhere in good time, however competitive the renewal quote, as I think this amounts to sharp practice on Policy Expert`s part.

Good afternoon, Thanks for leaving a review. We send out our renewal invites around 30 days prior to the expiry of the policy, allowing you time to shop around or opt out if required. As stated within the renewal invite we take the payment in the week prior to expiry so that if there are any issues with payment or processing we have adequate time to rectify the problem without leaving any gaps in cover. We are really pleased to hear you are happy with the renewal price but if you have any queries or wish to discuss you further please get in touch with our customer services team via phone, email, text, live chat or social media. Thanks again, Vicky

A lot of wasted time getting through & then asking a lot of questions you already knew the answers too. Forget your computers & get back to the old ways for good old fashioned workings !

Good morning, Thank you for your review. I would like to apologise if you feel there was any unnecessary delay here. When renewing your policy with us we would always check if the circumstances that may affect your cover over the last year have changed, this is because we have a duty to ensure we are covering our customers accurately to reflect their requirements. If you wish to discuss this further or have any other queries please don't hesitate to contact our customer services team via phone, email, text, live chat or social media. Thanks again, Vicky

Good morning, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry to hear that your policy premium did not decrease at renewal. Unfortunately, even if you have not claimed, an increase is sometimes unavoidable. This can be due to various things such as general inflation, underwriting criteria changing, Insurance Premium Tax increasing and so on. I have looked into things for you and can see that you had a two year fixed price guarantee, therefore, your premium this year, is the exact same as it was last year as per the guarantee. If you would like to discuss this further, or if there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to get in touch via telephone on 0330 0600 632, via email: ask@policyexpert.co.uk or via live chat which is available on our website. Thanks, Hannah.

Initially when I received my renewal notice I could only see …….. increase in renewal on last year increase in excess on last year decrease in cover (home emergency) Not a good start, however Upon talking to one of your advisors he was able to satisfy my issues so I accepted his resolve.

Good morning, Thank you for leaving us a review. We automatically renew your policy (and take payment) 3-5 days before the renewal date to ensure that the payment is successful. This is also to ensure that we do not leave our customers without cover unknowingly in case there are any issues with processing the payment. This will have been explained in the renewal invite that we sent to you, however, apologies if you did not feel this was clear. If you would like to discuss this further, or if there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to get in touch via telephone on 0330 0600 632, via email: ask@policyexpert.co.uk or via live chat which is available on our website. Good afternoon Mr Donnelly, Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. We have looked into your account and was unable to trace any calls where we have not given you a new quote or charged any admin fees so I am sorry if there has been any confusion around this. We would be more than happy to go through a quote for your new property, if you insure your new property with us and cancel off your old policy we would not charge any cancellation fees. Please contact our adjustments team on 0330 0600 698 to get this actioned. Thanks, Vicky

I was disappointed to find I couldn't set up an account for house insurance for both myself and my Mother, using the same email address. However I did get prompt advice once I realised this. I had to re-do the 2nd insurance policy from a different email address. Would have been better if I had been notified straight away, ie before completing the form on line, as this is a pain to do. My refund on the cancelled policy was dealt with within a few days..

Good morning, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear there was some confusion when setting up yours and your mothers policy. We are unable to have multiple customers registered under the same email address due to the fact we email out important information about your policy at times such as renewal. This can get confusing if multiple customers are using the same email address. There would usually be an error message to confirm this at the point of purchase. I am glad to hear this was rectified for you but if you do wish to discuss this further or have any other queries please don't hesitate to contact our customer services team via telephone, email, live chat or social media. Thanks again, Vicky

Decided to stick with the company 2nd year running. Prices has gone up slightly but not massively. However with reduced cover than last year. Still happy as the similar cover were not far off pricier or cheaper with other insurer. Hence the decision. Still shopping around makes sense to compare if what they offering for renewal is competitive. Process wise it’s easy and straightforward renewal as they have all your details. 👌

When my policy renewed it had more than doubled ( so I went somewhere else) when I asked why it had gone up they said it was in a flood risk area (it has always been here and I've been with them for the last 3 years)

Good afternoon, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Our underwriters regularly assess their underwriting criteria, for example, if there has been a spike in flood claims in your area your premium may be affected. I am sorry to hear that your premium increased this year due to your area being classed as a flood risk. If you wish to discuss this further or have any further queries please call our customer services team on 0330 0600 632. Thanks, Vicky
