“I obtained two quotes within minutes of each other. The first one was based on me being a UK resident from birth (by mistake) and the second one was based on me being a resident from 2001. No other answers changed. The quote was increased by £30! I queried it with them but they provided a generic answer and totally fobbed me off!”

My car was stolen and found luckily by police just over a week later.
The police had to write to me threatening to dispose of my car because my insurance company hadn't collected it.
When they collected it, they actually damaged the car!
Takes over 20 minutes hold just to speak to someone. Incompetent, rude, never call you back or provide any updates other than 'we don't really know'.
Spend a bit more money elsewhere and save yourself the extreme headache.
Am complaining to the Ombudsman over their conduct also.”
“I didn't have an issue with Quotemehappy until I had an accident. I didn't make a claim but the third party did. I was not told at any point the status of the case and had to call up to be told anything. I made a complaint as the accident was not handled very well and they admitted that. I lodged 2 complaints and heard nothing. I dealt with very rude call centre staff when I did call. I would avoid at all costs.”

“Do not touch them! Accident in March last year - I accepted liability and all was sorted out. I find out today from a firm of solicitors that the other party involved in the accident is making a personal injury claim. So I called the claims team at quote me happy who tell me that the claim was sent to them on the 18th May - So in 9 months no one from Quote Me Happy has told me about this claim - instead I call them because I get letters from solicitors for claims I knew nothing about! Appalling service save yourself the bother and pay a little bit more on your insurance to ensure you are well looked after!”
“January 2015 I was involved in an accident to which I was the innocent party,it is now February 2016 I have not received my excess fee.Carpenters are Quoteme happys Legal team and they are absolutely rubbish.Today February 16th I receive a letter from Carpenters they have now requested details of the third party to proceed court proceedings!!!you have all last year to do this !!! “I took out 2 car policies at the same time but did not get the multi car discount. I enquired how to get the discount and was told that I do not qualify as I should have used the link on the welcome e-mail for the first car to insure the second. As I did not do this, the second car does not qualify for the multi car discount and never will in the future as it was registered independently. I have never known such an inflexible organisation. I would advise anyone to avoid this company. I wish I had paid a higher premium and stayed with Privilege.”
“Do not use...they're impossible to communicate with. Tired to cancel my policy 6 weeks before end date...it was fully paid up. I didn't want a refund or anything like that just a simple cancellation but was told there was a £55 cancellation fee. I decided to just let policy run out and cancel direct debit as all payments had been taken. They emailed me straight away telling my to reinstate my direct debit...why!!?? I don't owe them anything??
Anyways emailed them once again and waiting for reply. It just doesn't work not being able to talk to someone on the phone when you have a problem.”
“been insured for them for 2 years, initially had an issue with proving NCD and after complaining (by email) they advised what was required for the proof (my error with proof I sent). Although online and no telephone support if you email they do reply with advice on how to change a policy. Saw earlier post about cost of changing car and so was worried when I bought a new car. Premium did go up but when asked why it was explained due to the car itself and I was not being charged any 'fee' to change the car. Read the reviews previously and took the opinion that people take out an 'online only' policy to get cheaper insurance but then complain that they cant speak to someone (except if I wanted to make a claim, you can call their claims number anytime but not had to yet). My experience seems to confirm that as long as you contact them with any issues within reasonable time then any problem can be resolved.
Although not related, in my job we get complaints after the event as my clients wait until its too late before contacting me so wonder if its the same here.”

“Cancelled my policy to stop it renewing and received my cancellation email and they still take the renewal out of my bank many days later. Will be officially complaining because the service is a shambles! Put my insurance up £70 a month for no reason!!!! Despite being over 25 and having over 5 years no claims! AVOID”

“Im new driver as I received my licence in the beginning of April 2016.
I filled up the quote ( 0 year NCD, 9 months bonus ). Ive got the quote about it around 1700£/year.
I was so happy is "not" that bad as a new driver etc.
After 2 weeks they are sending me an email they have to charge me around 700£ more as I have 0 year NCD.
Im asking: Why cant they just say this at the quote stage? Even I filled up there??
Because I wouldn't change my previous insurer ! So dodgy!
On the top of that they take 27.50£ for administration fee... ehh? I AM the unhappy person!! for an automatic email i need to pay 27.50£...
