About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Unfortunately I did not have a very good experience with Outback Equipment. My order was placed 4 weeks before Christmas as it was a gift for my son. I received no correspondence or updates concerning my order, so as it got closer to Christmas Day, I contacted your business to find out if I was going to receive it in time. I was told that it had been dispatched that very day ( what a coincidence!) I was also told that it should arrive in time for Christmas Day, which it did not. I could understand if the items had been out of stock or similar but I received no correspondence to inform me of this or any other supply issues. As a result, I did not have this gift for my son for Christmas and was very disappointed about this. I would not recommend Outback Equipment in the future.

Service was very poor. Took 2 weeks to get any notification of tracking. I made 3 phone calls to try find out what was going on before I went on holidays. Each time I called I was told they would have to call me back, never received a call back. In these calls I mentions that I would pick them up if they were at the factory etc. When I finally got onto someone who told me where they were, he said they had been posted 1hr ago. So I then had to organise someone to keep checking around home while I was away. Very bad experience

Would not order from them again placed a order to be told when I rang them a week later to be told it wasn’t in stock for another 3 weeks put out of stock on it in the first place 😡

Worst company to deal with, EVER! They take your money and it’s only when you ring 3 weeks later they tell you it’s in transit but they don’t know where because the tracking number they promised before sale never happened. I ended up cancelling sale and had to lodge a Paypal dispute to get my $500 backs, which still took 6 weeks. I’m convinced they sell stuff they don’t have any stock of, it’s the third and last time for me now. I ordered the same product thru Camp Smart and got it in 3 days and it was cheaper. Camp Smart all the way!!!

Terrible service. You don’t tell someone the item is out of stock until you ring up and ask where your order is? And then get told something completely different each time you call back. Never again sorry

I haven't received my order which was ordered on the 9th. It is now the 19th. the order was paid through pay pal, invoice No. N672743. I have ordered other equipment before and have had no problems.

Mirrors are complete garbage , vibration is so bad you can't see anything. I should have known better , mirrors that cheap are cheap for a reason , I also lashed out for express delivery only to not receive them for 3 1/2 weeks another waste of money and I would highly recommend spending some more hard earned and get something better , Do Not Buy !!!!!!!!;;

Atrocious. Website states a turnaround time of 2-3 business days, but my water tank took weeks to arrive after paying for express postage (as I needed it urgently). Was told I'd get a refund for the express postage, but nobody has processed a refund and nobody responds to my emails regarding this. I'll never use Outback Equipment again.

NO i am not happy!! I'm still waiting for a response from "Flynn" from the 10Th!!!! see below "Hello Flynn and thank you for your response the original of which never arrived (hence my frustration) Yes I have read your returns policy but it doesn’t seem to cover this scenario where the reason it is being returned is that your listing description is wrong and misleading so the fault is yours not mine. However I will comply with the requirements detailed below – I have the original box and packaging and the item is as new. I note in the returns policy that “…Outback Equipment will provide a Postage Paid label.” When an Item has to be returned through no fault of the customer and as that is the case here please provide me with such label so I can return it to you. Alternatively my local post office advise that postage will cost NZ$ 18.63 Untracked or NZ$ 44.00 tracked If you want me to use that option please transfer the amount to my bank account 12-3105-0016344-00 ASB bank Warkworth Auckland NZ Thank You Regards Bill"

I had to prove I brought something on website using back statement and calling my bank and then it took weeks to receive.. it was a basic sticker and I also live in Qld same state as store

Gday Not had a good experience Items were not available after being told that they were ready the go immediately. I only discovered when items were available because I kept ringing up, not contacted by the store. Items were incomplete on pick up so further parts had to be mailed out. This was all a real pain as i was on a deadline. Parts did not fit or were defective and this is still unresolved. Have not heard back from my last email and my next step is to go to a consumer ombudsman. Every time I've rung I've been promised a call back and not once have I received one. Communication has been dismissive and counter resolutionary.

ordered on the 4th Jan, still haven't got it (16th jan) click on the link to track "404 "cant be found", type in fastways and put in tracking number = nothing found. I think it is easier to deal with other online companies than Outback Equipment, too slow and too cumbersome

I’ve been waiting for a refund since the 22nd December after I purchased an item that was in stock online, only to be told they had none. I cancelled the order straight away and they still shipped it. I had to wait for the order to return to the warehouse before my refund was processed (which they put through as a store credit). The last email I got two weeks ago was that I should receive it within 3-4 days after I chased them up via phone and email. There was still no refund in 3-4 days. Called them again and was told it would be a further 1-4 days because the original 3-4 days was just the ‘processing time’. Fast forward 10 days and I’ve had to email AGAIN asking where my refund is. My bank can’t even see a refund pending. Super disappointed and won’t be back.

The order was placed in plenty of time for a Christmas delivery but wasn't dispatched until around 22-23 Dec, missing Christmas. When I called multipled times and was told they would come back to me with an update, they didn't. A very poor experience indeed.
