Takes WAY to long to process claims! You used to turn around claims within a couple of weeks and it was amazing. Your service has slipped so considerably. If I paid my premium 45 days late you would cancel my policy. You really need to improve your service. I spend way too much money for this kind of mediocre turnaround.

Very difficult to deal with. You not only need an invoice but an essay from Vet describing reason for visit, charges and follow up. 5 year customer.

We have had multiple pets covered under Pets Best Insurance over a 20+ period. In the beginning service was quick and coverage was great. About 5 years ago this changed. Services that been covered were either not covered anymore or there were now limitations. Claims that had been quickly paid were now not processed for over 30 days at times. THIS WAS BEFORE COVID 19 so please do not use that as an excuse.

Processing claims takes months when it should not take as long. This has caused me to begin searching for new per insurance.

I initially loved Pets Best, so much that I got it for my second dog. They are great for the first year, but then the yearly cost ends up costing you about 3-4x what you would pay out of pocket just bringing your dog in for the yearly check up and the one time a year random sickness. I understand that it’s a business, but completely not worth the cost in my opinion.

The review times are extremely long and have several times gone beyond the quoted time frame. I would not recommend this to anyone else.

\we're still waiting on the reimbursement of the very large vet bills for Coco's surgery. It' nice to get 'something' back, but this is on a credit card and we're paying interest on it while we're waiting,, besides on the principle of this bill. at 25% interest that mounts up quickly. My daughter has a different pet insurance and they paid her immediately.

I am not happy with the way they settle claims~! They were great in the beginning, but for a long time now, it takes over a month until you hear anything! Then they say they are working on it and it takes a few more weeks. I had been trying to meet my annual deductible, but they do not let the customer know what the balance is! They have no trouble deducting their monthly premiums on time! It is hard to get in touch with them as well. They definitely need to improve their customer service. The first year I had them...they were wonderful!

I appreciate the coverage, but starting to consider cancelling. The processing timeframes are extremely delayed in comparison to the competition. The app functionality is frustrating as it just redirects you to the website. There is no ability to set-serve to check your remaining deductible for the year. There is no ability to view supporting documentation submitted on previous claims. The telephone number has elevated wait times.

It’s very confusing which claims will be covered. Both of my claims were not covered and one of them was a routine health visit.

I’ve been with Pets Best going on 5 yrs. My monthly premium is going up $39.00 more a month!!! Now going to be $145.30 a month, started out at $66.00. Yes, I do turn in claims monthly, but that’s what insurance is for. What irks me the most is the reimbursement time. Up to 40 days?! Totally unacceptable! As much as I pay per month, my account should be flagged and treated as a priority! Just so you know, I urge anyone I talk to to stay away from Pets Best!!

Yes, prices will tend to go up as your pet ages. Much like in human health care, an older person is going to be more expensive to insure than a younger one. Similarly, a pet's chances of becoming ill will increase as they age. The insurance premiums are designed to reflect this increased risk of illness. Rates are based on pet's age, breed, and cost of veterinary care in your area. You'll be happy to know that prices do not go up because of your pet's personal claims filing activity. We notify you 40 days prior to renewal to let you know what to expect and renewal is 12 months from your enrollment date.

Customer service is weak or non-existent. Plan to sit on the hold for hours and maybe a human will answer the call. Email is no better. It takes several days to get a response and the response is usually automated. The claims process is not easy to use and slow to process. Submitting receipts for claims is a nightmare. Further, if multiple receipts are included in a claim, it is not easy to see which ones were actually processed. Overall, not satisfied with this company.

My claim was partially reviewed and reimbursed. I had attached two credit card statements explaining the amount spent but only one amount out of three was reviewed and processed. The claim status now shows processed even though it is partially processed.

Hi William, if a claim is not covered we send you an explanation of benefits explaining the reason. If you disagree, you are welcome to file an appeal with supporting documents. Claims are processed based on the coverage you enroll in.
