“It is very discouraging that it takes 3 weeks for a claim to get processed. Since new ownership took over, the claims process is frustrating. The previous ownership would process claims within 4-5 days. My claim was submitted on 10/22/21 and I finally received notice of what my reimbursement was on 11/10, stating that it could take 5-7 days for the reimbursement to hit my account.”

“I can only guess that the delay in claims processing is due to the lack of staff. The turnaround time went from acceptable to just terrible. The appeal process is terrible or non-existent. If it wasn't for the fact that the conditions being processed are covered but would be considered pre-existing if I left, I would have found another carrier years ago.”

“Very disappointed with PetsBest. Our Shepherd Bo had major neuter surgery due a abdominal Cryptorchid (one of his testicals did not drop and the surgeon had had to open up his abdomen to retrieve it, similar to a C section on a female). Petsbest did not cover the Catheter, IV fluids, EKG, Cryptorchid, anesthesia, etc. So, we came out of pocket an additional $320 after the deductible. This was not your typical Neuter. Doubt we will renew with Petsbest. Tim C”

Hi Linda, we do not cover c sections or anything related to breeding. We cover a portion of the spay surgery if you include preventative care with your policy.

“When I first registered all my pets I asked that the 2 new pets have the same coverage as the pet that was on the plan and they did not include the wellness benefits on the plan for the 2 new pets. Now I am having to prove that I requested the same coverage on all pets. I found this out when I tried to enter wellness veterinary bill for the 2 pets. Very upsetting.”

“It takes forever to get a claim processed, and then I am generally always informed that the claim is not allowed or I have not met my deductible! I pay a monthly amount of nearly $60, for a small dog, and I can honestly state that to date, it hasn’t been worth it!”

“In our second year of coverage with Pet’s Best, I filed a claim 45 services that I paid for with my veterinarians advance payment plan. It was a zoo Getting their agents and reviewer’s to actually read and understand what I had sent. They called my vet twice to get information I had already sent them. It was very difficult to get Pet’s Best’s agents to understand and it took me five months to get a fair review of a claim of less than $350. Not sure I’ll be staying with them next year. Finally, their excellent agent Penny rounded everything up got it through review and ended up with a fair result. But it was exhausting!”
