Extremely frustrated with the claims process. It is cumbersome, and I've experienced repeated rejections for claims, including a recent one for an infected tooth. Despite providing full veterinary records, the claim was rejected after months of waiting—and only recently labeled a 'pre-existing condition.' This lack of transparency and the pattern of initial denials for valid medical issues makes the service feel unreliable.

Honestly pretty disappointed. I had the wellness coverage for my dog which is supposed to be 100% covered only to get not even 50% of my bill covered for the most basic things like vaccines and your typical annual exam. I lowered my coverage to the bare minimum since that’s all you’ll get back as far as reimbursement anyways

I am totally disappointed about this company manages the payments of the expenses on the veterinarian services for my dog Milo. I have not received my refunds for the expenses since last year’s hospitalization of my pet. I am ready to report this company to the Consumer Affairs.

For the past 4 years every claim is delayed . It’s a tactic they use to delay their payments.

Really a waste of money unless something truly horrible goes wrong. I probably won’t be renewing next year

Terrible. I pay additional for wellness yet when I take my dog to the vet yearly for wellness visits it is less than 50% covered for basic yearly wellness. I have spent thousands out of pocket on vet visits and have barely received any reimbursement while paying almost $100 per month for insurance for one pet. Currently shopping other insurances.

Terrible experience- I have been fighting for two months to get my claims resolved. For one claim, they stated they had not received the documents necessary for them to make a decision. Then in a separate claim they referenced the exact documents that they claimed not to have to justify denying the claim. Their reason for denying covering my claim for an ear yeast infection? Because my dog was seen for eye discharge related to allergies 3 years ago. Customer service agent was no help at all. I’ve worked in customer service; I went out of my way to be kind and understanding yet she was so rude and unhelpful from the beginning. She then stayed on the line and refused to hang up so I couldn’t complete the customer survey at the end of the call. The portal also keeps changing the claim numbers and remixing which services are listed under which claim, so it is so difficult to keep track of what is being covered and what is not. I’ve had to create a separate document to keep track of all the claim numbers/statuses/details because the portal is so confusing. 3 vet visits have turned into now 11 claims (and counting). This has been a needlessly exhausting process; it seems like they are trying to make this process so difficult so I stop trying. My otherwise healthy dog just has a yeast infection in her ear, why have I had to spend 6 hours of my life fighting with dog insurance.

Obvious why they’re so inexpensive. Terrible customer service, they deny claims and give no way to appeal. They denied a claim for an ear infection saying it was a preexisting condition - 8 months after I signed up. How is that possible? I would go with literally any other company.

Pets Best Insurance is a complete waste of money. No matter what I submitted, Pets Best Insurance always denied my claim stating that the issue was due to pre-existing conditions. The only pre-existing condition my dog has are allergies. I never submitted a claim for allergy treatment, but no matter what claim I did submit somehow Pets Best Insurance always tied it to allergies and refused my claim. My vet said this was unethical because the claims I submitted were not allergy-related. Pets Best Insurance also requested my dog's health history repeatedly despite the fact that their customer service phone reps twice verified they had it on file. When I finally appealed one denial with support from my vet, they sent my appeal to an "independent" veterinarian on their payroll for a second opinion. Of course the denial was upheld. Please don't waste your $50-$75 a month. You will not receive above-board service, and they simply try to wear you down with their tactics for more information.

BLUF: I will be cancelling this insurance. Why? Because I recently filed more than $8,000 in claims that resulted in a $380 reimbursement. First, the claims took 2 weeks to process -- time that they clearly spent trying to figure out how to reject each individual compoent of each claim. Out of $8308.70 in claims, they paid $380 -- and that's after the $76/month in premiums, totalying $912. One of the claims that they denied was the dog's spay procedure; the reason for rejection was, "The maximum Wellness amount for these services has been previously paid for this policy term." That's funny, as I do not recall having spayed my dog more than once EVER, never mind more than once this policy term. That explanation, "The maximum Wellness amount for these services has been previously paid for this policy term," is repeated over and over and over again in their explanations of benefits, resulting in 7 out of 9 vet visits receiving $0 reimbursements, and a single $4,193 claim -- which included the (one and only) spay procedure -- qualifyiung for $205 in reimbursements. In short, for more $900 in premiums, they paid for less than $400 in claims. I actually would have saved money if I didn't have pet insurance. And this was a year of high vet bills; in a year of lower vet bills, they would presumably pay even less, resulting in more out-of-pocket expense for me. And that is why I am cancelling this insurance (once I receive the $380 that they've agreed to pay).

Very unhappy with my last claim. Guess it's one of those "fine-print" things - you don't cover the same issue within 18 months.

Your prices suck and go up every year. Even though my dog doesnt have a lot of claims. Your coverage seems to cover less too. I used to really like yall but not anymore after all the changes and price increase. Im looking to switch to someone else.
