Was promised a delivery which didn't arrive on day that was promised, due to the late arrival had to purchase more tools

Hi Andrew, I am sorry to hear that the order didn't arrive with you in time for your needs. I have spoken with the team on this one and it seems that the item ordered was a 2 day delivery item and hence arrived when expected. I am told that to receive the item in 1 day you were instructed to reply to one of your order confirmation emails requesting that we send it directly from the warehouse. I ordered on a Saturday. I paid for express delivery (1 or 2 days supposedly) yet the goods didn't arrive to the following Thursday. I could have bought the same product cheaper elsewhere but purchased from Power Tools Direct as I needed the product sooner. Having paid extra for the product and a extra premium for express delivery I was hoping for a better service. Lesson learned, next time I will buy at the cheaper price from a company with more realistic delivery times!

The product was exactly as required. However, the postage did not happen as advertised. Paying a premium for 1-2 day delivery the time of order I expected it to arrive within 48 hours. It took 31 hours to get the product into the hands of the courier. Then another 3 days to arrive (for the courier Saturday is a working day). Very disappointing and I feel the let out clause of not having the stock at the place of order in terms and conditions hints of being deceptive. If it is to take longer than paid for, tell the customer. If its not at the place of order then make it known.

Hi Peter, I am sorry that you were unhappy with the service, no deception was intended I can assure you. The product you selected is described as a 2 day delivery item and as this was ordered on the Thursday it was delivered on the Monday, which is the second working day after the order was placed, so it was I'm afraid delivered as expected. Saturday deliveries are a premium rate carrier service which we do not offer at checkout on the site.

After a 'phone call to Power Tools Direct paid extra for next day delivery. This didn't happen. Should have arrived on Thursday finally arrived on Monday. A complete waste of money and my time

Hi Keith, I am sorry that you were not happy with the service provided. I have checked the history and it seems that the order was only placed on the Thursday and was after the 12 noon cutoff, so although we may have advised that it should be with you on the Friday, we never guarantee this.

I placed order Saturday am. Paid via PayPal and paid extra for 1St class postage. This guarantees delivery in 1-2working days. Therefore I expected delivery Monday or Tuesday. the free delivery estimate was weds or Thurs. You only dispatched it on tuesday for delivery weds. I was at work that day so had to. Arrange for driver to leave in porch. However this was not simple as you have to print out a form with a barcode for driver. To collect. My printer is broken. I wrote all the details, including barcode number, on a begging letter to driver. Fortunately he left my goods but I was worried that he wouldn't. You should not assume that everyone has access to a printer, particularly as a lot just use their phones these days. Overall a disappointing and stressful experience.

Hi Suzanne, I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service. Unfortunately the warehouse are closed over the weekend so any orders placed over the weekend are not processed until the following Monday. As your item was a 2 day delivery item this means that it takes 1 day to come down to us from the central warehouse and is then shipped on a next day service, in your case on a Tuesday. With regards to the courier leaving the parcel in a safe place, they do have quite strict rules on this I'm afraid that are nothing to do with our requirements. This is because agreeing to the safe place changes the liability should the parcel be lost.

First time ordering, and ordered a £3 product with express delivery. It seems someone at Power Tools Direct knew better than me regarding the timing of my delivery, and it was only sent standard delivery regardless of the fact I had paid for express, meaning it would arrive too late. O then had to spend quite some time persuading them that a refund was in order. I would have to be desperate to try them again.

Hi Tony, I am sorry that the service was unsatisfactory for your order. It seems that the warehouse did make an error and unfortunately send out the goods on the incorrect service. Normally we would need to wait for the goods to be delivered and returned before a credit is issued which was the holdup with the refund. In this case we were able to get the OK to refund you so that you would receive the goods for free.

Hi Becky, I am sorry to hear that. These things do sometimes happen with the carrier when shipping liquids unfortunately. Looking at the history of your order we did send out a replacement free of charge as soon as we were able so we did our best to resolve the situation

Still haven't received item, had a delivery day/time slot but no show and no 'missed you' note either. Have emailed delivery note sender but no reply yet. Am in process of chasing up, so far, not very good at all.

Hi Tim, your order is showing as delivered on the day after the order was placed 'Signed for by FORBES on 29th October 2015'. Please could you contact us directly if this does not help you identify your parcel location.

Paid for next day delivery and had to chase twice, goods did not arrive until 10 days after purchase.

I ordered some goods on the 5/10/15 and between losing the order in the warehouse somewhere to using a rubbish company in ukmail for delivery, I received my order yesterday, 20/10/15 ! I paid for delivery between 3-5 days.... Not 15 !!

Hi Colin, I am sorry to hear of the delay with your order. After looking into this I can see that the order took one extra day to ship as it was placed in the evening and would not have been processed until the following day. That being said although we did ship it on time, it seems that there was a delay of 1 extra day with the carrier. I am very sorry for any inconvenience that this delay caused you and have arranged for a refund of the shipping charges as some compensation.

Considering I had to pay a delivery charge, the item took 2 days to come. For something so small, I would expect delivery next day if I am paying the extra!

The company's refusal to allow the courier to leave the delivery in a safe place and insistence on my signature caused considerable inconvenience. We're talking about a small tin of paint here not a valuable power tool. I think a bit of flexibility and discretion is called for. I have not encountered this problem with any other company so I will not be a returning customer.

Hi Michael, I am very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service. I beleive you are refering to the carriers process rather than ours, as we are happy to pass on instructions for the parcel to be left in a safe place if given at the time of the order. Unfortunately once the order has been shipped it is then the customers resposibility to arrange for acceptance of a Safe Place delivery either through their website or over the phone. The courier making the delivery is not able to act on notes that are left on the door unfortunately

Have given this a poor rating, which is not a reflection on the product I have ordered, which is two pairs of small size ladies gardening gloves. I am unable to rate them as they still haven't been delivered. The mail company have an attempted delivery note from 5 days ago. I'm still waiting for the delivery, two email later and they have said the parcel is now delivered , its not. Really disappointed in the service

The product arrived in good time and at a good price The delivery was poor. Box left on full view in front of door. No card to say delivered. Luckily I had warned my neighbour and she took the parcel in.

I only received half of my order and no order conformation email or invoice, so as a customer you don't know what your going to receive. I won't be ordering again and I am sending back what I did receive

Hi Imelda, I am sorry that you were not satisfied with the service. Our system does automatically send out both Order Confirmation and Invoice emails as well as a shipping email with a tracking code when the order is dispatched. It is possible that these emails were filtered into spam by your email client.

The item you ordered was a 2 day delivery item, ordered on the Thursday and as the couriers only operate their normal next day service on working days. Hence the item arrived with you on the Monday as expected. I am sorry if this did not meet with your expectations

Two items ordered, one incorrect ly received, compounded by two different options having the same reference number on their database. Emails sent to the recommended customer service address were ignored and it required a telephone call some days later to get the issue sorted. Whilst their prices are competitive, their customer service was not good and the much promised service aspects on their website were poorly supported. Probably will not use the site again.

Hi Raymond, I have looked into your issue and it does seem that the warehouse did send out the wrong item to you which I apologise for. Your email was received and acted upon, but we had to do a check of the stock in the warehouse before sending out another item, to be sure it would be correct. This did take a little while, but you were then sent the correct item and allowed to keep the incorect item, in case it was of use to you. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this error has caused you
